Chapter 59 – Lin Yiyi’s Birthday (1)

Lin Yiyi named her restaurant “Number One”.

She had the remodeling team used a combination of industrial and northern European style. The basic structure was colorless, giving it a slightly gloomy feel. The combination of roughness and tenderness gave it a natural free-form feel.

Combining that with clear and bright floor-to-ceiling windows, the entire place looked clean, attractive, and had an unique aura.

When the time came, she’d set a few of her own best dishes and let the chefs take over the rest.

For that purpose, Ms. Lin Ping had really gone and hired her a couple chefs with their own famous dishes.

Lin Yiyi’s plan was to set the restaurant’s selling point at tasty and delicate, and not the kind of restaurant that made two to three or even more dishes in one big pot.

She wanted everyone who visited her restaurant to feel that the dishes here were unique and could not be replicated.

Lin Yiyi’s birthday came before the remodeling of the restaurant was completed.

She had no idea what her birthdays in the past was like, but Ms. Lin Ping was quite blunt. She directly tossed her a bankcard…

“We will go out as a family to dinner to celebrate for you.”

“Well, mom doesn’t know what you like. Take the money in the bankcard and go shopping in a bit. Maybe buy a couple of purses or something.”

She had always commented on her daughter’s prodigality when the original owner purchased all her purses in the past. Now that it’s her birthday, she was the first to tell her to buy more purses….

Probably, all mothers in the world are the same.

Bankcard in hand, Lin Yiyi wasn’t sure what to make of that.

It wasn’t like she needed money.

The original owner already has more money than she could spend. On top of that, she also receives a sizeable amount from the dividends annually from the shares of her mother’s company.

One could say that the bankcard from Ms. Lin Ping wouldn’t get a lot of use.

When she was poor in the past, she’d always imagine buying a car when she has money; and a house after she has a car; and when she has both a car and a house, then she’d open up her own restaurant…

Great, now she has all of those things, money was nothing but a series of numbers to her.

But, she didn’t feel right to spend the original owner’s money. She used the money she earned from her streaming channel to pay for the rental of the restaurant. As for the remodeling and hiring of chefs and servers, those were all taken up by Ms. Lin Ping.

For that, Lin Yiyi insisted on drafting a contract and dividing up the ownership of the restaurant and giving one portion of it to Ms. Lin Ping.

Today was the weekend.

Ms. Lin Ping sent the annoying Mr. Gu off to fish before she went shopping with her daughter and two grandchildren.

Ever since Lin Yiyi had transmigrated over, she had only been taking her children to and from school and streaming to her channel. Now she has other activities – getting busy with matters of the new restaurant – and rarely had time to shop anymore.

They lived so close to a shopping district, yet she had spent most of her time at home…

Her behavior was still limited by her mentality when she was poor.

In the past, all her money was saved for big ticket items like the car and the house. She’d never spend them willy-nilly.

Ms. Lin Ping was quite the opposite of her.

She’d marched up to the designer brand counters in high-end business circles valiantly and gallantly. Let it be LV, Dior, or Chanel and have the store clerk show them all of their limited edition items…

Immediately, that would shock the store manager, store clerks, and other customers who were looking at purses or jewelry.

Unlike a rustic old woman who didn’t know how to dress themselves, even though Ms. Lin Ping became successful later on in life, she was, after all, born in the city. She has good taste…

She didn’t care for gold or silver. She wore jade or diamond jewelries, or at the very minimum, South Sea pearls.

The shop manager could tell that Ms. Lin Ping was a tasteful woman right away. She might be a little on the older side, but considering her age, her Chanel outfit, her Hermes purse, and all the other designer brand items she had on her, she pegged her as a rich wife who has money to spend freely and immediately invited her up to the VIP lounge.

They did not walk out of the shop until every single one of them, including Meng Yuran, was carrying handfuls of shopping bags…

Even Meng Shanshan got a new small shoulder purse.

Behind them, the store clerks were seeing them off passionately.

Could they not?

The way that Ms. Lin Ping spent money made Lin Yiyi stomach cringe.

And, Ms. Lin Ping wasn’t even done yet.
