Amazing. Luo Pingsheng was not only involved with the online game, but the postproduction of the song as well. Even the fans felt like this was as if they were using a sledgehammer to break nuts.

“I wonder if Master Luo felt devastated to be given the job of doing postproduction for a song.”

“This team is so prestigious. I’m blinded by their brightness.”

“I’m guessing that the music video that is about to be released will have been worked on by Master Luo as well. The effects are going to be so awesome!”

Zhezi, who had composed the song, needed no introduction. As an idol, he was more famous than Luo Pingsheng as the latter was only known within a niche circle. The public would know the name of singers such a Zhezi even if they had not heard any of his songs.

Besides, most of the youngsters these days had grown up listening to Zhezi’s music.

After all, every song he made was a guaranteed hit.

The lyricist Xining, on the other hand, was Zhezi’s go-to lyricist for all his songs.

“Don’t use the game images for the music video. Let Great Lord Yu Linling act it out with our Goddess, Silent Words! Get them to film the music video in the characters’ costumes!”

“Wouldn’t… Wouldn’t it be better if we kept a little mystery? There are so many people in the two-dimensional world who have god-like voices, but very ordinary looks.”

“We’ve seen the back of our goddess in a picture. She looked really beautiful in it, so I’d really like to see what she looks like from the front.”

“What should I do? I feel so conflicted. I really want to see Great Lord Yu Linling, but at the same time, I’m afraid he does not fit the image in my mind.”

Even though the fans were anxious and looking forward to it, the music video eventually went on to use images from the game. Wei Zilin and Xu Moyan did not go on camera for it.

They wanted to remain low-profile and let the two-dimensional world remain as it was. As such, they both agreed not to disturb it.

Nan Jingheng did not mention anything about it either as he knew that they would both immediately reject the idea. Moreover, he did not want to cause his friend any trouble.

When Wei Zilin first started working on the voiceover for Qi Shaofeng, he did not even use his real name because he did not want it to be exposed.

Besides, if Wei Zilin’s identity was exposed, it would cause a lot of inconveniences for him.

They have helped a lot Nan Jingheng by voicing Qi Shaofeng and Qing Siyu, and even more so by recording the theme song for the game.

Eventually, Massacre OL hit the top spot online, in no small part thanks to the theme song.

However, Wei Zilin and Xu Moyan did not pay any attention to all these updates because they were preparing to head to Jin City.

Wei Zilin’s parents, Old Master Wei, and Jian Muhua would be tagging along in this trip as well.

Wei Zilin wondered what made Wei Mingli change his mind as he ended up joining the trip to Jin City. Wei Zilin thought this was a better outcome as it was not like he was fatherless. If the future groom’s family had gone to the future bride’s family to ask for her hand in marriage with only the elders and his mother, Xu Moyan’s parents might suspect that something was wrong. An absent father was quite suspicious.

Xu Moyan was about to marry into his family. This made Xu Qingrui and Li Lanying worried as there were too many things they were uncertain about. However, he was very clear that this was not because they were unsatisfied with his family background.

Xu Moyan’s parents were worried because he had a large family which held a high status in society. If Xu Moyan married into his family, she would be all alone and might not be able to adapt.

If she suffered any grievances by their hands, her family would have no means of standing up for their daughter.

Xu Moyan’s parents were smart people. If Wei Mingli was absent, they would have easily guessed that his father was not happy with Xu Moyan.

Xu Moyan was the apple of their eyes; They never expected for Xu Moyan to marry into money and fame, as all they wanted was for their daughter to be happy. They would not want Xu Moyan to suffer because of Wei Mingli.

‘If you are dissatisfied, then we will not marry our daughter into your family!’

If the situation had blown up this way, Wei Zilin would be the one to suffer.

This was why Wei Zilin breathed a sigh of relief when he found out Wei Mingli was going.

He did not need Wei Mingli to say anything nice. All he needed to do was stay quiet, even if he had to sit there expressionless.

Just leave the talking and all the nice words to Old Master Wei, Third Madam Jian, and Tian Fangyu. They would also be the ones to extend their sincerity.

Old Master Wei had prepared many presents. According to Old Master Wei, “We aren’t able to conduct the old tradition of preparing the Three Letters and Six Etiquettes, but we sure as hell can’t skimp on the betrothal gifts. We need to let her parents see our sincerity, as only then will they allow their daughter to marry into our family with a comforted heart.”

They decided not to take the train but instead drove to Jin City.

Before this, Wei Zilin had brought Xu Moyan to meet up with Old Master Wei first.

While they were on the way, Wei Mingli and Tian Fangyu had already arrived at Old Master Wei’s house.

The housekeeper made tea and prepared some snacks while Old Master Wei, for once, had put on an official-looking Chinese-collared suit. Jian Muhua was dressed in a matching outfit that was low-profile but also suited the occasion. You would just need to take one look at her to know that it was an important occasion for her, and she was not about to take any attention away from anybody. She gave off a very comfortable vibe, much like her usual self.

Tian Fangyu had also put a lot of effort into this meeting with her future in-laws. She had on a simple, elegant dress, and since the weather was warm, her neck was exposed. Even so, she was only wearing a simple necklace.

The platinum necklace hung right at her collarbones, where a pearl the size of a fingernail laid gracefully. It matched her moon-white outfit perfectly, making her appear elegant and graceful, with no trace of intimidation.

Old Master Wei kept looking at his watch to check the time, but did not dare to phone Wei Zilin to rush him.

It was easy for anyone to see that Old Master Wei was really excited about being able to meet his in-laws.

It was supposed to be a happy occasion, but he looked over to see Wei Mingli sitting opposite him with a terrible look on his face.

Old Master Wei’s happy mood was instantly destroyed by this son who was nothing but a jinx. So, he berated him on the spot, “If you are going to show this face to Moyan’s parents, then you can forget about stepping foot through our doors!”

Wei Mingli’s lips pressed together in silence. Old Master Wei grunted. “I got you to come because I was worried that our in-laws would overthink the situation. If you aren’t willing to give them a little face, then I’ll confiscate all your shares in the company. Then, you can stop collecting bonuses from the company. If your son is willing to support you, then you can rely on him to do so. If he stops supporting you because you don’t treat Moyan well, then it will be your own doing and you will deserve whatever you get!”

Wei Mingli’s expression finally changed as he called out in shock, “Dad!”

“I don’t care how much you look down on Moyan, or which girl you look up to instead. Moyan will be the daughter-in-law accepted by our family. It’s not your decision to make. Even if you don’t like her, Zilin and Moyan will be staying on their own after marriage. You won’t be seeing her, anyway. When you get to Moyan’s house, I don’t need you to say anything. Just don’t make any faces. If you can’t say anything nice, then shut your mouth and don’t say a word. If you make our in-laws unhappy in the slightest, then just wait for me to take care of you when we get home!” Old Master Wei pointed at Wei Mingli as he said.

Wei Mingli’s mouth was agape. His expression improved slightly after being threatened by Old Master Wei.

Wei Zilin was not an outsider, and he was very aware of his father’s characteristics.

There was once a time when Wei Zilin had taken Wei Ziqi’s side to take down his biological father. This meant that Wei Ziqi had owed Wei Zilin a favor, which he repaid by showing mercy to Wei Mingli. However, when Wei Mingli returned, Wei Zilin was no longer close to him.

If Wei Zilin was unwilling, then he would not listen to a single word that Wei Mingli says. Even Tian Fangyu was not as obedient as she was before.

Wei Mingli no longer had any power at home. If his shares were to be confiscated, Wei Zilin could not be relied on to support him.

Wei Zilin would probably only support Tian Fanyu, and since Tian Fangyu was no longer as obedient to Wei Mingli, he could not expect her to help him either.

Besides, if he relied on his son for support and could not earn a penny for himself, he would be nothing but a joke to others!

Therefore, if he sabotaged the impending marriage between Wei Zilin and Xu Moyan, there was no telling what Wei Zilin would do.

Wei Mingli had initially planned to create trouble when he volunteered to join them in Jin City as he wanted to sabotage the whole thing. If the other party had even the slightest bit of humility and realized that he did not like Xu Moyan, they would not be willing for Xu Moyan to marry into their family and thus, immediately object to the marriage. This would be good for him.

Even if Wei Zilin did hate him for it, he would not be able to do anything in the long run. He would have to just let it go.

He did not have a good relationship with his son anyway, so this would not hurt their current relationship at all.

However, he had not expected Old Master Wei to threaten him like this.

Even so, Old Master Wei was not finished. His eyes narrowed as he hammered down on Wei Mingli. “If you don’t care about your son’s feelings and are unwilling for our family to live a beautiful life, then you can stop being a member of the Wei family. I will just pretend that I don’t have a son like you! I’ve got plenty of sons and grandchildren anyway, so I don’t need you!”

Old Master Wei was really furious about this. The last threat hit Wei Mingli hard, so he knew he had to treat this matter seriously.

His old man had never given an empty threat. If he said it out loud, it meant that he would go through with it.

All those years ago, he had kicked Wei Mingli out of the house to safeguard the family mausoleum in the mountains without hesitation, seemingly without caring about his survival. Now, it was winter, and there were still cold blisters on his feet from way back then. Even medicine did not seem to help reduce the inflammation.

Wei Mingli was a laughingstock at the time. He had it worse than if he had just stayed at home and continued to leech off his son.

Even though he was no longer a young man, the people he knew that were around his age were still working. They were managing companies and taking the lead in their businesses. They would be clinching contracts today, working with an international company tomorrow, and buying over some company the next day.
