Chapter 21 – Exposing An Impostor (2)

Ye Li is an evil man, and such a man only collects enemies rather than make friends. He naturally won’t feel at rest if there was anything suspicious around him; he won’t let the matter go.

Standing in front of Ye Mu, although Mo Linyuan was slim, his lanky profile entirely covered Ye Mu’s little body. Ye Mu, with her stout arms and legs, could only reach the height of his shoulders.

She finally raised her head towards the delicate youth in front of her. But his eyes were like bottomless pools of the deep ocean, looking at her as if he could see through her guise. She could only swallow nervously.

“You! What do you mean?!” Ye Mu’s height may be short, but she refused to be intimidated with this height difference. She puffed out her chest and placed both hands on the sides of her waist. In a loud voice, she declared, “I am only me! I am not some fake!”

“Yes. Yes, you are.”

Mo Linyuan suddenly reached out to brush the hair on the top of her head.

“I don’t care whoever you are or whatever you plan on doing. You have saved my life—I won’t tell a soul about this.” Afterwards, he removed his hand from her hair to stand on the side, “Just now, I never said anything, and you never heard anything.”

He was merely telling her to be cautious. He was acting out of concern for her. For this new Ye Mu.

Listening to this young man’s elegant voice, Ye Mu’s heart rate unconsciously sped up and she couldn’t help but take a few steps back. She was just about to say something when suddenly, she felt only air under her feet!

“Look out!”

Mo Linyuan’s face twisted and he swiftly reached out to grab her. But he wasn’t able to save her in time, instead, both of them fell together!

Ye Mu’s quick reflexes were still present even in this new body. At the feeling of weightlessness, she remembered that Mo Linyuan was a child and subconsciously cradled his head in her arms to protect him from the fall.

And then she remembered—she was no longer the battle-hardened special forces soldier, but rather a little girl who was still drinking milk! She was no seasoned commander of the military at the moment! Belatedly aware of this circumstance, she was thrown into a state of dread, unable to think of the incoming tragedy…

When their bodies hit the bottom, Ye Mu could only laugh at her misfortune.

“Haha…” But not really, she wanted to cry! Oh, it hurts so much!

Dust flew around them, in the aftermath of the fall, Mo Linyuan was unscathed because he had been shielded by Ye Mu. He was stunned and quickly got off! He asked Ye Mu laying on the ground nervously, “A—are you okay?!” unsure of the right words to say in this moment.

Ye Mu tried to sit up, her pair of bright eyes suspiciously tearing up. The moonlight fell on her face through the open hole, making her look like a small fairy who had strayed into the mortal world. Only if one ignores her next words…

“My arm…” Ye Mu miserably said. Her current strength extremely inferior to her old body, she couldn’t force herself to ignore the pain. As a result, after she fell down, she really felt the overwhelming urge to cry!

Mo Linyuan looked at her wrist, and towards her grieving little face, his heart in the heart pricking at the sight.

“It’s all right.”

He said comfortingly, at the same time, he suddenly reached out and tried to hold her in his arms. Thanks to all these years, he was thin, but much taller than the average nine-year-old.

“Where did you fall? Let me see?”

Seeing his coaxing appearance as if talking to a small child, Ye Mu felt embarrassed. It wasn’t that she couldn’t bear the pain, rather her current body was too delicate!

Her heart bristled especially when he rolled up her sleeves to reveal a large patch of blood on her elbow, skin had been scraped off from the fall, and she was surely going to develop bruises on her body later.

Mo Linyuan saw this and quickly tore off a piece of soft silk from Ye Mu’s dress. He then used it to wrap her elbow carefully.

“How can I let you be hurt this badly?” Vexation could be heard from his voice. But this was directed to himself; he blamed himself. He was older than her, he should have been the one who had protected her!

Ye Mu originally wanted to resist crying…but on a second thought, she was only six years old. It would be too fake to hurt oneself greatly and go on without crying.

So she let the corners of her mouth slowly drop, and the golden beans fell tear by tear from her eyes. When he tried coax her, she especially cried more vigorously than before!

When Mo Linyuan saw hew crying so much, he was immediately left at a loss on what to do, “You…it’s all right! Don’t cry!”

But Ye Mu couldn’t care less about Mo Linyuan’s panicked state right now. Children shouldn’t be able to hold back their tears—what should they do if they had a big wound? And of which actually hurts?!

Of course, cry a waterfall!

Mo Linyuan, who had always been calm, was a little freaked out and he quickly drew her closer to his embrace in hopes of calming her.

He didn’t know how to comfort people or to make them laugh. Therefore, the only thing he knew to do at this moment was to hug her, reassuring her in a bland voice, “Don’t cry…”

It could be said therefore, that no matter how smart a teenager is, he will still lack knowledge on the this hasn’t encountered before…
