Translator: Sissy That Walk

The three looked at each other after hearing He Bai’s plan and their otherwise infuriated face looked much better now. They all put their hands on He Bai’s shoulder and generously proclaimed that they were already pleased with how this thing panned out and that if He Bai would buy them dinner, they could totally forgive him.

He Bai was rather touched by their words and he immediately took out his wallet and told them to order whatever they want.

By the time they finished their dinner and went back to the police station, they were immediately swarmed by a group of reporters, and at their head was the shareholder, Ke shi. When they saw He Bai, they rushed forward to surround him and they ensured him that they would seek justice for him and expose the truth for everyone to see!

The instructor was rather displeased with those remarks and he wanted to retort. However, the lawyer stood in his way and managed to have him distracted.

He Bai never expected that Di Qiuhe would arrange such a situation. He looked at that ferocious-looking Ke Shi, who sounded a bit hoarse and then at those reporters holding cameras in their hands. He slightly raised his brows and then took a seat beside the instructor, looking surprised.

“The photos taken by Mr. He are truly amazing. They look very much like that utopia that I once dreamed about.” Ke Shi exclaimed. When he saw the lawyer of the Qin clan coming in, he deliberately raised his voice and said, “Unlike some uncouth families who raised a bunch of hippie girls and lying grandsons. If you ask me, I will say they might as well join houses since they both suck.”

Upon hearing that, the lawyer of Qin clan twitched his face and looked back with a threatening look on his face.

However, Ke Shi, being a man of unyielding character, would not so easily got intimidated. He smiled at the lawyer and waved his hand at those reporters sitting behind him. “Go take some photos of them. Those people think they can bully those students with immunity because they are rich and because they have school on their side, but they fail to account for me. I will expose them for who they really are this time.”

Those reporters immediately got up and walked towards the lawyer of the Qin clan and started taking photos.

The instructor’s face grew even darker as he saw that he was being photographed.

“Mr. Ke. The school is not to be blamed in this matter. The reason why earlier the instructor suggested us to settle this issue in private is because someone coaxed him into believing that the whole thing was just a harmless prank among students. Now that the instructor has realized the full gravity of the situation, he has assured us before lunch that he would address this thing in the most serious manner and that the school would not protect bad guys who bullied innocent students. May I suggest we stop taking his photos? After all, he was also a victim in this case.” He Bai seized this moment to step up. Although he seemed to have been defending the instructor, he was actually forcing the instructor to pick sides. After finishing those words, he also signaled his roommates to join him.

Upon receiving the signal, Niu Junjie tacitly stepped forward and joined the conversation. He described how the school was the embodiment of justice and the instructor was the champion of justice and he recounted how the instructor was swift at disciplining Huang Wei when he spotted his misconducts and how he stripped Huang Wei of his scholarship and gave him a harsh warning. He assured everyone that this instructor was the most just instructor the world had ever known.

Ke Shi was very much moved by his words, while the instructor could only feel his face burning with shame as he listened.

“I see. It would seem that I made a mistake. It all makes sense now. The Q university is too prestigious a school to allow its reputation to be tarnished by protecting powerful pricks who bullied perfectly decent students.” Ke Shi let out a sigh, turned around and stretch out his hand, “My apologies for my impertinence. It was all because I want justice for those talented students. Your students are all very good, especially He Bai. He is a gifted young man and I am delighted to have spent hundreds of thousands to purchase his photos. I am sorry I let my bad temper get the better of me today. When I heard that those photos got deleted, I was so worried that I… Anyway, I hope you will forgive me.”

When the instructor heard those phrases like “prestigious school”, “protect”, “tarnish” and “hundreds of thousands”, he was struck dumb. He ended up shaking hands with Ke Shi with a strained smile on his face. In the end, it was all he could do to assure Ke Shi that the university would to its utmost effort to ensure that justice will be served.

Ke Shi was even more touched on hearing this promise. With a wave of his hand, a group of reporters who had been badgering the lawyer of the Qin clan turned around and directed their cameras to shoot the scene where the instructor pleaded to seek justice for the victims and the part where Ke Shi offered to send him honorary banner to commemorate his heroic deed.

The instructor’s face looked rather grim. He looked at those four students who had been defending him just now with mixed feelings and left after exchanging some words with Ke Shi. The way he hurriedly escaped from the scene looked awfully like how someone was being chased away by a dog.

The lawyer of the Qin clan was in the middle of savoring that adrenaline rush he had just experienced with the reporters and when he noticed that those reporters rushed frantically over to take pictures of the instructor who was apparently switching sides, he panicked, knowing full well of the awful consequences of this thing going to the press. He immediately took out his phone and made a call to both the Qin clan and the Huangdu. Then, as if trying to be discreet, he sent over his assistant to talk to Ke Shi in an desperate effort to stall him and the reporters so that the people from Qin clan and Huangdu could show up in time to stop them.

Ke Shi immediately saw through his plan, yet he pretended otherwise, and continued talking with them, all the while dredging up some dirty past stories of the Qin clan and Huangdu in order to stick it up to them. It worked beautifully and some of the lawyers came near to calling him names.

Meanwhile, He Bai and his friends were sitting nearby watching this fuss play out and they were all rather amused by what they have seen.

“Bai, I gotta hand it to you. Those fans are really useful.” Niu Junjie elbowed He Bai in excitement.

It was only then that He Bai suddenly realized his roommates weren’t familiar with the relationship between Hua Ding and Di Qiuhe. After much hesitation, he decided against telling them the truth. Instead, he simply told them that it was because of Ke Shi’s past feud with Huang Du that prompted Ke Shi to came over to help him and that he was not really his fan. The reason why he chose to keep the relationship between Hua Ding and Di Qiuhe a secret was not because he didn’t trust his roommates, but because it was Di’s private matter and it was not up to him to reveal that relationship to others. Plus, human beings by nature are not exactly known for their ability for keeping secrets.

“I guess Karma is a bitch, eh?” concluded Cheng Jie as he propped up his glasses, “People want to stay on the winning side and Huang Du and the Qin clan are the opposite.”
