Translator: Sissy That Walk

Now that things took a turn for the better, those four strode to the police station, looking a lot better than before.

“Alright. Let’s put aside the arguments over whether Di Xiasong has committed burglary and only focus on the fact that he destroyed Mr. He’s photos. We have verifiable evidence that only the suspect Huang Wei and Di Xiasong have touched the missing computer. According to what Huang Wei accounted to the police, he doesn’t even know the name of the files stored in that computer. I have every reason to suspect that it was Di Xiasong who deleted the files and photos in Mr. He’s computer. The damage is irreversible and he has to pay indemnity!”

Mr. Wang frowned, “This is purely malicious speculation!”

“The snapshots are right here. This is reasonable suspicion!” He Bai’s lawyer insisted.

He Bai tried hard to rein in his urge to laugh and served water to his superstar lawyer.

The lawyer took over the water and the ferocious look on his face immediately mitigated. He smiled at He Bai, his face crinkling like a chrysanthemum, and took a sip of the water. Afterwards, he resumed his game look and continued his “friendly dialogue” with his rival lawyer.

Lawyer Wang was so frustrated by his arguments and stole a few looks at He Bai. Inwardly, he was a bit reminiscent of the past when he would just stand behind Di Qiuhe and together with He Bai, they watched how Di Qiuhe dissed the Qin family.

Back then, He Bai had been his ally. Who would have thought that they would become rivals. Then he thought of that troublesome second master, who was not even half the man the master was on handling things. All he ever did, was come running back to his parents at the first whiff of trouble. Qin Li used to cover for him, and Di Xiasong was abroad then, so people didn’t really know what sort of man Di Xiasong was and often thought that he was just as good as he was made out to be by everyone. Now that he had met him, he felt nothing but disillusion.

Niu Junjie swept a look over the intimidating police and Lawyer Wang who was becoming ever more quiet. He leaned over to He Bai and poked at his waist, “Hey, am I hallucinating here? That lawyer seems to have been staring at you all this time.”

“You are not hallucinating. I have met him once.” He Bai whispered a reply. Seeing as Lawyer Wang didn’t look so good, he gave him a bottle of water and a nod in recognition of the fact that they once teamed up in trashing the Qin clan.

Lawyer Wang was dumfounded by this move. He took over the water and heaved a long sigh. Instead of continuing his argument with He Bai’s lawyer, he simply got up and went outside, apparently making a call to someone.

Niu Junjie rubbed his chin, “What’s he doing? You buy him off with just one bottle of water?”

He Bai shook his head, “Don’t know… How’s things going between the two lawyers? What does the police say?”

He Bai’s question brightened up Niu’s eyes. He laughed, “Our lawyer is truly a badass. My father told me that the Qin clan has not been doing so good lately and so they won’t risk an all-out war with us. If the story about Di Xiasong’s burglary were to get out, the Qin clan would face another PR crisis. They will definitely cave in. We just have to sit tight and wait for it to happen.”

Niu’s words reassured he Bai greatly. When he turned back, he noticed that Wang Hu had been winking at them, signaling them that campus instructor was coming. Seeing that, He Bai hurriedly poked at the Niu, telling him to wipe that cocky smile off his face. Then, he gave the lawyer a flattering smile.

The lawyer immediately realized what was going on and returned him a knowing smile. He tidied himself up and walked straight to the instructor to talk about how people should “Protect the rights of the students in school.”

The competent lawyer took care of everything, and the four people in the dormitory felt relieved at the fact that this whole business was now over.

Huang Wei was in police custody and so the four couldn’t see him. Only Di Xiasong made a brief appearance when he was making his confession. Afterwards, neither of them saw him again as his lawyer had been representing him ever since.

Suddenly without a rival, they all felt a bit bored.

They had thought it would be a scenario where they could simply sit aside and enjoy the heated debate by the lawyers from both sides. Who would thought that Laywer Wang would suddenly withdraw, leaving only the lawyers of the Qin clan fighting this battle alone.

Niu Junjie was amused by this sudden turn of event and asked, “What happened? Did you really buy off that Lawyer Wang with a bottle of water?”

He Bai shook his head, and took out his phone to make a call to Di Qiuhe, only to find that Di was on the phone right now and so he called Wang Boyi instead.

“Mr. He.” Over at Wang Boyi’s place, He Bai could vaguely hear the sound of Qi Qiuhe. Qi sounded a bit serious and aloof. He Bai was suddenly reminded of that phone call Lawyer Wang made before he left and frowned, “Di Bian went to your boss?”

Wang Boyi was surprised by He Bai’s acute hearing and stole a look at Di Qiuhe, who was on the phone with Di Bian. He replied, “Yes, Di Bian called Director Jiang. He hoped that Master Di would be able to appease you and resolve that thing quietly.

‘I knew it! That sniveling shit of a man would only find Qiuhe when he was in trouble. What a coldhearted, selfish bastard he is!’

He Bai suddenly felt downcast and after a few words, he simply hung up the phone. He thought for a while and then called Xing Shaofeng. As soon as the phone got through, he bluntly asked, “In your opinion, How can we secure a best outcome for Di Qiuhe?”

Xing Shaofeng, who was looking through the family tree of Qin clan, broke out a smile upon hearing this question, “What are the odds? Last night, Di Qiuhe also made a call to me and asked the exact same question. Well, not exactly the same, because he was asking how we can secure a best outcome for you.”

He Bai didn’t see this coming, and his shitty mood seemed to have lightened up a bit. A smile broke out on the corner of his lips and he glimpsed at the lawyer who was still engaged in a back-and-forth conversation with the campus instructor, “the best outcome for me and him is one and the same. I trust you can find a solution that works for both of us and persuade Di to follow the plan, right?

Xing smiled even more heartily and asked, “Since when did you put so much faith in me?”

“Since always. You are my super assistant.” He Bai smiled, obviously in a better mood now. “Anyway, I trust you can take care of this matter. Thanks.”

After hanging up the phone, He Bai turned around and looked at his three roommates, “Sorry brothers, this time I will have to put my romantic life over my brotherhood.”

The three, who were just discussing where to eat afterwards, immediately turned their heads around upon hearing what He Bai said. They got up and dragged him out of the police station. They took a cab to the nearest luxurious restaurant and booked a room. Then, Niu Junjie smacked on the table with a serious look on his face, “Just tell us what you have been planning behind our backs!”

Sensing their anger, He Bai immediately poured tea for them and handed over the menu. Then, he walked them through how he planned to secure a best outcome for Di Qiuhe.
