“I understand.”

Chu Jiao responded and was about to go outside, but Bi Luo barred her, “Princess, you haven’t had breakfast yet, please take care of your venerable body!”

Chu Jiao stared at Bi Luo and didn’t utter a word.

Outside the tent, a soldier escort was getting ready for departure. Because she had gotten up late, thousands of people in the army had to wait in delay for her to rise, it was no wonder that the original owner had such a spoiled and willful reputation.

As a princess, the original owner’s lifestyle was prepared very meticulously, coming from an indulged upbringing. However, the female lead, who served as a personal servant, clearly knew the importance of the marriage alliance, yet she merely coldly looked on, never admonishing nor obstructing the princess, allowing her to do whatever she wanted. She would even at times add fuel to the fire. How “loyal and devoted” of a servant she was…

“Pr-princess?”

A chill ran down Luo Bi’s spine when she felt her master’s gaze on her. It felt as though her master was able to see through her wicked thoughts.

“Bi Luo ah,” Chu Jiao reached out a hand and lifted the servant girl’s lovely face, “You can’t seem to distinguish something… Are you…the master? Or am I the master?”

Chu Jiao saw her reflection in the girl’s pupils and was able to make out her flower-like countenance and moon-like face, appearing extremely luxurious. If it weren’t for her young age, there was no doubt she would grow up to be an even more captivating beauty.

This was not surprising at all, for the original owner’s mother relied on her looks to become Emperor Chu’s most favored consort. And so, it was only natural that her appearance wouldn’t fall too far behind, however, she didn’t expect to grow up this stunning.

Looking at the simple and delicate, perhaps to the extent of being average face of the female lead in front of her, Chu Jiao couldn’t help but feel sorry for the original owner for playing a good hand of cards poorly.

“Princess, I beg for forgiveness! Princess, I beg for forgiveness!”

Bi Luo’s eyes immediately turned red and she sat down on the ground kowtowing for mercy. It was as if the princess was going to confer her an inhumane punishment if she didn’t do this.

Chu Jiao was shocked speechless at the sight.

What a fragile little white flower.

“The princess is of noble birth, why lower yourself to a servant’s level?”

Hu Luoyan, who had been waiting outside the tent all this time, drew open the covers and spoke.

His hearing was very good so he was able to hear each and every word of their conversation. He had always despised the use of authority to bully people into submission. The servant girl hadn’t done any wrong but this princess was acting so unreasonable and willful. His hatred towards the girl he was about to marry deepened further as a result.

In reality, when he was going to go through with the marriage alliance, he didn’t mind which princess he was going to be betrothed to, however, when the Chu Kingdom sent portraits of their princesses, he picked out Chu Jiao at first glance.

Not because of her so-called beauty, but solely because he thought the tear-shaped mole on the left corner of her eyes looked lovely.

However, upon welcoming his fiancee and seeing how the most pampered and most beautiful princess of Chu Kingdom acted, the first pounding of his heart immediately vanished, replaced with a thick feeling of disappointment.

Since the marriage was already fixed, he had no other choice but to treat it as if he was marrying a pretty vase.

“General Tuoba, you sure care for a lot of things!”

Chu Jiao glared at the man who invited himself in and imitated the original owner’s personality, impatiently rebuking.

The figure of the man in front of her was tall, his muscles bulging. He wore an armor of iron, appearing very mighty. However, the thick beard on his face covered the majority of his face, making it so that his countenance was indiscernible. One could only look at the tall nose bridge and deep set eyes to tell that he was extremely fierce and hard to provoke.

However, Chu Jiao wasn’t the least bit afraid and that was because she had heard the system’s notice, informing her that this man, was the male lead.

Hu Luoyan, who was disguised as a general, was also known as Tuoba Yan.

Chu Jiao had worn an offended face, however, in her eyes was a probing look.

Was it “him”?

Did “he” still remember and recognize her!?

However, the result quickly made Chu Jiao disappointed.

With only a few inches of distance between the two, she was able to clearly see the man’s feelings in his eyes.

There was no love, no happiness, only unfamiliarity and annoyance.

“Princess must have misunderstood. This servant is only afraid that the princess would harm her body from anger, affecting your present circumstances.”

Hu Luoyan lowered his head and replied ‘reverentially’, however, his eyes were only filled with ridicule.

He didn’t remember her.

Chu Jiao’s heart ached.

She stepped forward, standing in front of him. The man’s tall figure nearly covered hers entirely. Chu Jiao looked at him and forced herself to smirk.

“Looks like…General Tuoba is very concerned about this princess.”

Lu Huoyan had wanted to cease the woman from nearing him. Chu Jiao’s unexpected action caught him a bit off guard. After all, this princess had always shown an extremely unhappy face whenever they barbarians approached her.

At this moment, however, he didn’t avoid it, because those phoenix eyes of hers looked a little familiar and all of a sudden, he felt his heart palpitate.
