Everyone was stunned at what they heard.
Lu Qiang: 'Cough-Cough'
Zhao Shuang: 'I wish he had a bone in his tongue.'
Lu Jinhai: 'Nobody can beat father.'
Ning Jiahui: 'Thank god, the other kids are not here.'
Lu Chen: 'I should have stayed in the room.'
Su Hui: 'I think my ears are going to rot soon.'
Butler: 'Why do I always forget to carry my earbuds?'
Lu Qiang was stunned on hearing this even though he was used to such banter between the members of his family. He couldn't help but stare at these shameless personalities in his family. He knew what was going to come next, so he said with a straight face and a sharp voice, "It wasn't me. A wild cat crossed my path."
Lu Qiang cleared his throat after a little pause and continued, "And I don't have such weird habits. I am perfect in everything I do." He looked like he was not affected by his father and grandfather's bold words.
He turned to go upstairs to his room but suddenly stopped. He turned back with no expressions on his face and said, "Don't worry grandpa. I won't disappoint you with your dream." He turned around and left, leaving everyone shocked.
After hearing this line, everyone was stunned. They stood frozen in their places as they stared at Lu Qiang's retreating back.
This was the first time Lu Qiang had said something like this. Everyone knew he had never dated anyone or showed interest in any girl. It was as if he was aloof to such kind of human relationsh.i.p.s.
Lu Qiang was too young, just twenty-four years old. It was an age when boys usually roam around with girls and enjoy their lives, but he never did that.
What happened suddenly? He himself mentioned his grandfather's dream and indirectly confirmed that he is going to fulfill it. There must be only one reason; he might have taken a liking to someone. Everyone was curious to know who that was.
Lu Qiang entered his room, removed his jacket, tossed it on the bed, and entered the bathroom. When he stood in front of the mirror, he touched the stain on his shirt and said, "It seems like grandpa is going to jump with happiness soon." There was a pleasant smile on his face.
After washing up, Lu Qiang headed downstairs. Everyone was waiting for him at the dining table, waiting to know more about his elusive sentence.
Lu Qiang's hair was still damp from the shower, and he had no expression on his face. Everyone stared at him without batting an eyelid, acting as though they had never seen him before. Nobody dared to ask anything but opted to stare at him instead.
Lu Qiang walked towards the dining table, ignoring their gazes. He put his jacket on the back of the chair and sat down with calm and composed expressions.
The atmosphere was silent as everyone was busy with making their own assumptions. There was only the sound of servants doing their work.
As Lu Qiang started to eat, he sensed the gazes coming in his direction. He stopped and looked in the direction of these curious gazes.
Everyone was still looking at him, observing his actions. As Lu Qiang looked up, everyone got alarmed by their actions and started to look elsewhere.
Lu Qiang frowned and put down the chopsticks with a thud. He leaned back into the chair and crossed his arm in front of his chest. He swept his gaze across the people sitting around him and said in a severe tone, "Is there anything wrong?"
Everyone shook their heads in sync.
"No! Not at all, dear. It's... it's just that you are looking very handsome today and we are happy for you." Zhao Shuang said and everyone nodded in agreement.
"Yes! Grandma is right, Lu Qiang." Lu Jinhai smiled awkwardly, hiding his thoughts.
"Handsome?" Lu Qiang paused and said, "Yes! I am handsome since birth."
Everyone: 'Flattery doesn't work on him.'
Lu Qiang continued and asked, "Then, what are you people happy about?" He knew why everyone was behaving like it, so he just mocked their reasoning.
Elder Lu laughed. "That's true. You are really, very handsome. After all, you are my grandson," Elder Lu Huan said with pride and tried to make him forget his question.
Others: 'Never forgets to blow his own whistle,' they thought as they looked at Lu Huan.
Lu Huan then continued, "But you are looking quite weak to me. You should take care of your health and increase your stamina."
"Stamina?" As usual, Everyone knew, where this conversation was headed, so they just kept quiet.
Elder Lu Huan called the butler and said, "From now on, you will make all the nutritious food for Lu Qiang that will improve his health and stamina."
Butler was quite embarrassed to hear this in front of everyone. He glanced at Lu Qiang and nodded, saying, "Yes, Master."
Butler Xu Dui had worked for the Lu family since he was very young. He looked about the same age as Lu Jinhai. He saw Lu Qiang growing up in front of his eyes but still felt embarrassed.
