Ai Yi looked to that familiar yet unfamiliar face. As expected, she has good skills. She only needed to mess around a bit on her own face and will become a completely different person. But as long as she wanted to, using that completely different face, she could still let the people who were familiar with her original face immediately recognize her at a glance. “As expected of sir lady protector, to have found this place this quickly.”

“Call me Gong mama.” She was too lazy to bother with An Yi. The fragrance miss used, at first, was made by miss herself, but afterwards, it was completely taken care of by her. She couldn’t be more familiar with it. That kind of faint but very pleasant smelling and very unique smell, with her sensitive nose, how could she not smell it? If she still couldn’t find them, then how useless would she be? She glanced to the horse carriage and knitted her brows, “Wangye, a young lady’s pure reputation is very important, asking for you to take consideration for miss.”

An Yi was somewhat displeased, “Sir lady protector, that’s master, how can you be so rude?”

“Call me Gong mama. Two years ago, when I was sent to Qi’an Fu, my master already changed. Now it’s the Luo family’s third miss, and the only one.”

An Yi thought of his own master and closed his mouth.

Li Hong Yuan was half leaning inside the horse carriage. He had the unconscious and unaware Jing Wan gathered in his arms. And like as if he was suffering from thirst, his fingers continuously wandered around her face and neck. That smooth and tender feeling seemingly made him feel shivers all over. He had the impulse to have Jing Wan kneaded into his own bones, but after hearing Jing Wan stuffily groan from the discomfort, he unconsciously relaxed his strength.

Lowering his head, his lips landed on Jing Wan’s forehead, lightly and softly, then to her eyes, nose bridge, nose tip, cheeks, earlobe, side of her neck, always lingering. At last, his lips landed on that enticing tender pink lips. He licked them, yet didn’t dare to delve in, because he knew, once he entered, he might not be able to control himself again. This many years, he was just like an abstinent monk, not touching lust. He was very clear, once he opened this mouth, afraid it’ll be like a collapsing dam.

From his rebirth until now, it has been twelve years. He finally was able to hold her in his arms again. Counting the time, when he’d just came back, Wan Wan seemed to have only been 2 years old. Such a shame, Qi’an Fu was too far away from the capital. Furthermore, he was also trapped inside the palace, and thus wasn’t able to see that tiny pudding like Wan Wan. Even when he’d people sent to her side, he still had to wait a full six years until he left the palace to open his own residence at 16. However, if he had Wan Wan raised at his side the whole time, then the grown up her probably won’t be the Wan Wan he wanted either. Because he was very clear that the same person, in a different environment, raised by different people, can entirely bring about two completely different people. And it was also because of this bit that in those ten or so years, when Wan Wan was in Qi’an Fu, especially in the later few years, aside from giving a bit of assistance in the dark, he didn’t change her lifestyle in any way. Even if he’d sent Gong mama, aside from protecting her and managing her health, she’d only just taught her some common rules and etiquette. Besides this, he didn’t do anything else excessive. He was just afraid that Wan Wan will no longer be that person from his memories. But thankfully, she was still her. As long as he can ensure this bit, her life afterwards, he will have it thoroughly changed.

Their lips stuck together for a very long time. Li Hong Yuan let out a weak sigh, “Little vinegar jar, do you know, for you, how hard this prince has endured? In the future, you have to properly compensate this prince.” His palm unknowingly landed on Jing Wan’s chest. On his peerless face was a deadpan expression, yet his hands, like an old pervert, gave a squeeze, seemingly unsatisfied with the size, “As expected, compared to a few years later, still too small right now. However, an underripe fruit has another taste of its own.” As if pondering over something, he licked his lips.

That darkened gaze, appearing to possess a madness that wanted to swallow everything, yet also had an endless and infinite gentle love and attachment.

A low and enticing voice, yet it made the two people outside’s face instinctively twitch, hating themselves for having this good of a hearing. This man, as expected, was not normal. Not only insanely talking to himself, but a grown man, touching a young lady like this, are you not embarrassed?!

Another two men in black appeared in succession. One of them was holding a destroyed ink peony. However, seeing this scene, their footsteps stopped, no longer coming closer.

Gong mama was somewhat anxious inside. If they don’t go back now, then the people on that side will be worried. Moreover, regardless if there’s an unexpected situation or not, a family’s unmarried daughter, disappearing for this long of a time, will always attract other people’s idle gossip. “Wangye……”

“How’s the matter?” Li Hong Yuan interrupted with a question, while Gong mama opened her mouth.

Gong mama let out a sigh and retreated to the side. Things that didn’t concern her, she didn’t need to listen to. Even if occasionally a word or two entered her ears, she would still forget it in the next moment.

The two men in black swiftly went forward, “Replying to master, everything is taken care of. We also got the thing from the Hundred Flower Building.”

The master behind the Hundred Flower Building was Li Hong Ming. This time, he really did ‘failed to steal the chicken and lost the rice used to lure it too[1]‘, suffering heavy losses. As for Kang Qinwang and Gong Qinwang, naturally they weren’t any better off either. In this round, Li Hong Yuan became the hunter that had the former three all taken out.

Li Hong Yuan softly and inaudibly made an ‘en’ sound, then after another short period of time, he finally came out from the horse carriage carrying Jing Wan. The other three men very perceptively lowered their heads quickly.

Gong mama went forwards, nearly snatching Jing Wan over. She carefully looked over Jing Wan’s neckline and other areas. After not seeing any marks, she finally sighed in relief. Regardless whether if it was because her words just now had an effect, or wangye having controlled himself. She didn’t have a way to stop this man. She could only protect miss well as much as possible.

Li Hong Yuan’s face darkened, “This prince isn’t some ferocious beast.”

Gong mama gave him a glance, as if saying, ‘You’re even more scarier than a ferocious beast.’

Li Hong Yuan’s face became even darker. However, Gong mama wasn’t very fearful of him. Not only because she ‘grasp’ his ‘weakness’, but further because she herself wasn’t too scared of him in the first place. Gong mama can be said to have watched Li Hong Yuan grow up. “This servant bids farewell.” As for that ink peony, with wangye’s tendencies, he’ll always think of a way to send it into miss’s hands.

Li Hong Yuan watched Gong mama disappear with Jing Wan, the vicious air around him made one fearful. The three shadow guards hated that they couldn’t immediately disappear too. He was already indefinitely gloomy and maliciously violent before, in addition to unfulfilled desires, how are they still going to live? This kind of deep in hot water days, could it be that they really have to endure like this until wangfei marries in?

Luo Pei Shan and the others had spent some time gathering together. All carried different degree of injury, however luckily none were serious, and there weren’t any casualties either.

“Where’s Wan Wan?” Even Jing Wan’s servant girl, Qing Zhu, was present, just her and Gong mama were missing. Luo Pei Shan’s face was as heavy as water. Right now, the Hundred Flower Building’s fire was intense, it was simply impossible to escape. If they wait until the fire was extinguished, then afraid the person might already be burnt to ashes by then.

Qing Zhu’s body went limp at once, like she’d lost her soul, “Miss, miss….” She wanted to go back into the Hundred Flower Building.

“Enough, your miss is still fine, what are you crying for.” Luo Pei Shan at the moment completely displayed his vigor from his many years of residing in a high position. “Go look for them, perhaps they came out from another exit.” He still had his rationality and didn’t let someone go into the fire. Directly charging in without any protection was undoubtedly no different than looking for death. How would they even be able to save out Jing Wan then?

Sun Yi Lin and Sun Yi Jia also had the people at their side sent out. They both didn’t believe that Jing Wan would just die like this.

No one knew that Sun Yi Lin’s tightly clenched fist was trembling, and his heart in complete disorder. No matter what, since the first glance, that girl to him was already different from the rest. He patted his equally frightened younger sister, “Stay at the two sirs’ side and don’t go anyway. I’ll also go look.”

Sun Yi Jia nodded, her hands and feet were somewhat cold. She was born honorable, so she really didn’t have any true close friends. But now, she’d finally met one that she mutually got along with, someone who looked no different from an ordinary noble young lady, yet from time to time, also showed some differences. She lived with unwavering determination, carefree and unrestrained. Sun Yi Jia had to admit that her own heart had given birth to desires. She prayed in her heart, hoping for Jing Wan to be safe.

The fire was getting more and more intense. Because it was multiple places simultaneously catching on fire, it was gradually about to merge into one. The city defense squad and the fire rescue army eventually ‘slowly arrived’. Looking at the current situation, a good half of this flower market will probably be destroyed. If they still don’t quickly put out the fire, it’ll only just spread even more, causing unimaginable damage. The looks on the faces of the leaders of the two troops were both very ugly. Especially the captain of the fire rescue army, he almost fainted at once. After this matter was over with, he definitely won’t be able to keep his head.

[1] Figuratively means to try to gain an advantage but only to end up worse off.

T/N: I fixed it, but previously I mistranslated a term describing Gong mama as a married woman, she’s not married. The term has a double meaning, meaning either married women, or just older women in general (specifically women around 30-40).
