Check out our new project, Xena The Conjuror! The first few chapters should be released soon. ;D
Gu Juan, as if she was actually surprised, exclaimed, “A garden villa! Then it would be expensive. We only need a garden villa with four rooms, a living room, and a kitchen. Each child can get a room, and one room for me and your dad will be enough.”
Gu Juan, as if thinking of something, she said awkwardly, “Sometimes when adults and other friends and family come over, there’s no place to sleep. When you have a lot of people in your house, there’s going to be a storage problem. A garden villa is pretty good, but villas in the downtown areas price skyrocketed to six million.”
The story happened in the 1990s in Shanghai, so the price of houses was not yet expensive to the point where everyone despaired.
“Don’t say those useless things. Let’s just see how much money we have now,” Ji Liguo pretended to be berating Gu Juan.
Ji Ning replied, “I can put in 5 million.”
After Liu Man finished her third scene, she still felt a bit melancholy because she was too engrossed in her acting.
Because the rest of Ji Ning’s life was a real tragedy.
Ji Ning spent her money on the garden villa, the one later on Yan Xialan saw. Before they purchased it, everyone agreed upon putting her, Ji An’s, and Gu Qing’s name on the house contract. But in the end, the names became Ji Liguo and Gu Juan’s. Their reason was Ji Ning, and the other two children were not yet adults, so they could not own house contracts.
The family of five moved into the new house, and the three children each got their own bedroom. Ji Ning’s bedroom was the room Yan xialan moved into after a decade.
Liu Man still had one last scene to take part. She had one last week left on this business trip, and the rest would be filmed in that garden villa. The cast was going to travel to the US next month so they could film the part where the male lead and the female lead went to college.
The entire movie’s filming part was very successful, and there was no conflict between the actors and the staff members.
But this day, the female lead, Feng Qingyu, had a piano scene in the garden villa’s living room.
Yan Xialan had a habit of playing the piano every day. After she came to Gu Qing’s house, she took a break for a few days, but her fingers couldn’t resist playing the piano. Coincidentally, there was one in the living room, and there was a piece of white fabric covering the piano. It looked like this piano hadn’t been used in a very long time.
Yan Xialan asked Gu Qing if she could play on this piano.
Gu Qing said yes.
Yan Xialan took off the white fabric and found a piece of music sheet that had already turned yellow from old age. The name of this piece was “The Sound of the Wind.”
Yan Xialan was in the middle of playing when the angry Ji An ran over to stop her.
During this scene, Liu Man was taking a rest at her hotel and wasn’t in the garden villa.
When Feng Qingyu signed a contract with the cast, Feng Qingyu had told Ye Zian playing the piano was a hobby she had ever since she was a kid. She was good at playing the piano. However, the truth was, Feng Qingyu had never even touched the piano ever since she started high school. It was hard for her to play an unfamiliar piece from start to end.
And before the cast started shooting the movie, Ye Zian had handed the music sheets for “The Sound of the Wind” to Feng Qingyu. He had suggested for her to practice it a few times so she could get familiar with it.
Feng Qingyu ignored his suggestions. Now, she was famous, she had good resources, and she had many fans. Ever since the cast started filming, she had never really stayed in Shanghai. She flew everywhere because she had a busy schedule. She was the most arrogant one on the crew. When she had no parts in a scene, she wasn’t there. When she had parts in a scene, she still wasn’t there. Everyone had to follow her schedule when they filmed.
There was no way. Most people in the crew knew she had a sugar daddy behind her back, so no one dared to mistreat her.
Now they only needed Feng Qingyu to play, but now she was staring off into the blank space as she sat in front of the piano.
“Qingyu, why are you dozing off while acting? Hurry up and play.”
Ye Zian yelled. He didn’t care what kind of background Feng Qingyu had, no matter how famous she was, here, he was the director. He had the most power, so everyone should listen to him.
Feng Qingyu awkwardly smiles, “Sorry, I dozed off.”
Ye Zian made the videographer cut off this part, “Let’s start again.”
To not lose her face, Feng Qingyu started to play the piano.
The result was, the moment she played her first note, Tang Tu and Xue Yunfei, who were music experts, looked at each other. They both knew Feng Qingyu had no skills at all.
It was just one song. Feng Qingyu couldn’t play it coherently, not to mention there were issues in her posture; it looked ugly.
This scene annoyed Ye Zian. He had the entire crew shoot this scene, starting from the morning to the afternoon. They restarted countless times, and Yang Huayue and Qiao Xin, who also appeared in this scene, had to restart several times, too.
Tang Tu’s part was in the next scene. Normally, he would’ve been able to finish it in the afternoon. But they were still struggling on Feng Qingyu’s piano scene in the afternoon, so the deputy director told Tang Tu to rest back at his hotel and to wait for more information in the evening.
Xue Yunfei, who could not stand Feng Qingyu’s piano playing, was long gone.
If she kept this on, even people with a good temper would get angry, too.
After the infinite times of restarting, Yang Huayue couldn’t resist but complain to her assistant, “Feng Qingyu’s piano level is too sucky, it’s not even comparable to Liu Man and Tang Tu’s skills! Professionals are professionals; beginners are beginners. But she’s the female lead and has so many piano scenes. If we keep this on, I’ll be seventy-years-old by the time we finish!”
“Shush,” The manager looked around, “You have to be quieter. Be careful, there might be people eavesdropping and reporting to Feng Qingyu.”
“Why are you scared? She has a background, and I do, too,” Yang Huayue is fearless and raised her voice even higher.
Her manager quickly covered her mouth, “My god, Yang Huayue, don’t you know that trouble comes from the mouth? We don’t even know who is supporting her, and the more mysterious they are, the scarier!”
Yang Huayue couldn’t understand: she thought since Gao Jingdong, the power investor, was supporting her, no one can touch her.
She was just so mad at Feng Qingyu. An actor’s resting time is important, and she even woke up at 6:30 am to go to the set. Now it looked like she wasn’t going to have time to finish her work today, and she even wasted this whole day. If she knew earlier, she would’ve rested in her room all day.
Seeing that her manager was cowering to her “opponent”, the now even more angered Yang Huayue opened her Wei Bo and quickly typed in:
“Today is a terrible day spent with a pretentious ‘know it all’. I didn’t eat or sleep well. Nothing’s well.”
Yang Huayue also posted an ‘I have nothing to live for’ gif.
She hit the ‘send’ button.
Yang Huayue was still in the process of becoming famous; her Wei Bo followers count couldn’t even be compared with Feng Qingyu or Tang Tu. She even had fewer followers than Coco; her follower count was currently about 2 million.
Usually, Yang Huayue posted every few days. She has a bunch of OG fans, and every time she posted, they would like and comment within seconds.
“Our little Moon seems angry. Honey, don’t be mad.”
“Who dares to upset our little Moon?
“Our little Moon should still be in Shanghai filming “The Sound of the Wind”. She must’ve had some troubling experience while on set.”
“Don’t you guys think this ‘Know it all’ is directed at someone?”
