Chapter 203 - Name Changing (2)

“You’ve passed the review and can go and get your official household register. As such, you’ll need to be there in person to register.” All she needed to do was to hand in some information and sign the paper work.

“Today being Sunday, I am guessing that I can’t have it done today?” Naturally Shu Yan hoped that she would get her official household register as soon as possible.

“You will have to wait until tomorrow. I was going to give you a call but happened to run into you today.”

“How come it happened so quickly? I thought you said it’d take up to six months?” Shu Yan’s impression of government workers were always slow, never fast.

“I’m not sure about that either. But being able to get it sooner is always better,” said Manager Wang with a smile.

“Yeah, that make sense too. I have another question. I didn’t want to delay them getting into school before so I didn’t do anything. I think you probably figured by now. Their father and I had divorced and I have the kids. I want to have their last name changed and their first names as well while we are at it. Do you know how that could be done?” By then, she only wanted to get her kids into school. She wasn’t able to look into anything else.

Shu Yan knew nothing about the process back in these days. In the future, both parents would need to agree to the name change. Nevermind that she had no way of getting in touch with Ye Zhiqiang, she wouldn’t even if she could.

“Not a problem. All I need to do is to put in a word for it,” said Manager Wang with no hesitation.

Shu Yan was worried that the process would be very involved. As it turned now, it wouldn’t take much at all. Shu Yan let out a sigh of relief and asked, “Why, thank you so much in advance then. Will I be going by myself tomorrow to take care of this?”

“I’ll go with you. I have some documents of my own to submit as well.” Shu Yan wasn’t the only one who needed to have her household register moved. Manager Wang has a lot of take care of on her end as well.

Shu Yan was no longer in the mood to clean up. She took the two children home and pulled out a notebook from under the pillow. This was her books from work and detailly documented all of her income and expenses. The last couple of pages, however, were filled names.

She had decided to divorce Ye Zhiqiang from the moment that she had transmigrated over and she had been thinking about names for her two children since. She had thought about it long and hard and finally decided on Shu Jinxi and Shu Jinchen. Human have emotions. Nevermind that this body was related to the two children through flesh and blood. Even just being with them over this period of time, Shu Yan had already viewed the two of them as her own children.

As a mother, she would never let what happened in the novel to happen to the two of them. She wanted them to have a nice and bright future.

“Mom, so my name will be Shu Jinchen from now on?”

“That’s right. Do you not like the name? If you don’t like it, we can change it. Or you can pick one yourself.” Shu Yan pushed the notebook over to her.

“I like it. I like it a lot.” Ye Jingjing, no, her name was now Shu Jinchen, read the name in her mind a few times and was particularly happy.

In contrast, Tianbao didn’t see to be too emotional about it. It didn’t seem to matter to him whether his last name was going to be Ye or Shu.

“From now on JingJing and Tianbao would be your nickname. Your official names will be Shu Jinxi and Shu Jinchen. Let’s not change your names at school just yet. Your classmates are probably used to your old names already.” Shu Yan felt somewhat regretful thinking about that. All she thought about was to get the two of them into school as quickly as possible and had forgotten about the matters of their names.
