Eguchi Ren: Sorry for the late update, I had to rewrite it which is why it took longer than expected (sweats)

Gumihou: Soo…… Eguchi-san is being a boy here, lol. You’ll see what I mean soon. (smirks) We have also adjusted the text so that it’s less boggy and more dramatic

““Heheh~ it’s all defeat~ted~~””

“”Hah! That’s what you get for trying to attack us!!””

Dora-chan and Sui had, as expected, completely annihilated the group of mini dinos in a flash.

Umu, as expected of Dora-chan and Sui,”

The ferocious little piranha-like, fire-spewing dinosaurs were gone just like that. I stared at the half-melted and charred corpses with a sigh.

“I don’t think we could get much material out of this…”

“Who cares, they aren’t good for eating anyway,” Fer snorted.

“If Master wishes to collect materials, it’s better to capture the bigger ones,” said Grandpa Gon.

“Ah, right, the bigger ones…”

Of course, how could I have forgotten about the bigger dinosaurs?

Ahhh, I’m getting Uranus PTSD…

On top of that, I could already hear demon-form Willem-san scolding me… what should I do? Umu, let’s try and collect some fairly intact small dinosaurs for the guild to study. Who knows, maybe Elland-san could develop a fascination for dinosaurs instead…

“Oi, didn’t I say those small fries have no value?” Fer snapped.

“Yes, well, they may have no value to you or Grandpa Gon, but since this is such a remote place, I’m sure the Guild would like to have some information on it. We could contribute to society in general by bringing back specimens from this place…”

Fer and Grandpa Gon looked at each other.

“Has our Master always been like that?”

Umu, as far as I know…”

“’… since the monsters have never been seen by others before, they would be considered valuable, right? That way, Willem-san and the rest won’t be too angry about me suddenly leaving on Grandpa Gon without telling anyone…”

“O-oi, do whatever you want. You want some of these small fries? Here, this one has a missing head, but still has most of its body. This one only is missing the back of its feet and body…”

I have no idea why Fer suddenly wanted to help me, but I certainly won’t deny his help. Together, we managed to collect a few mostly intact specimens for the Guild to study. Hopefully, these would occupy Elland-san’s time for a bit…

And quell the anger of the demon- I mean, make Willem-san happy.

“Gyaa–!!! Do something! Do something!!”

“Shut up! I can’t concentrate over your screaming!”

“Master, it’s fine, the barrier won’t break so easily.”

“”Ou!! [2] But these creatures are damned persistent, eh? Are you looking down on me!!?”

“”Sui is strong~~! Eiii~!!””

This… was a very familiar situation. My familiars getting excited about the prospect of fighting something new while I have a mental meltdown in the background.

“Ugh! Why are these things so aggressive!!?”

Anyway.

To recap.

[3] After our party (Sui and Dora-chan) defeated the group of little fire-spewing dinosaurs, we moved through the jungle swiftly until we came across the first large dinosaur of the day. Fer dashed forward (I was rudely unseated from his back and bounced off Sui’s soft body) and promptly destroyed the creature.

[3] It wasn’t until we came closer that we saw how large it was. It was the kind of dinosaur with spine-like protrusions down the back of its head all the way to its back. Its formerly brilliant red eyes now dimmed.

Even so, the rows of sharp teeth were suuper intimidating.

[3] Then, I heard it. A… strange shriek echoed through the air, followed by earth-shattering footsteps. This time, a live dinosaur lumbered through the bushes to roar directly in our faces. This one was even bigger than the first one, and I actually saw my own face reflected from its eyes. Just like in the movies!

“Hahah! Another one just served itself up!” Fer crowed.

The rest of the familiars protested since this would be the second large dinosaur for Fer. There were some arguments that my anxious mind could not register…

Anyway, this somehow ended up with me being shuttled off to the side with the others while Fer faced off the much larger dinosaur called ‘Acrocanthosaurus’ [4], which is, of course, carnivorous and spews fire, naturally.

“… on top of that, this thing spits out acid too…” I muttered under my breath.

[3] I thought of warning Fer, but then… considering how slowly it turned its neck to spew out a gout of fire at an incredibly agile Fer… haahh… it would be a good thing if Fer didn’t toy it to death. Speaking of which, it also spat out acid, but these were mainly large clumsy gobs of spit-like things that splattered uselessly against Fer’s barrier.

“Acid Bullet attacks have no effect on me. As for your speed, umu, you are fast for your size, but not fast enough!”

Then, Fer swiped his front paw down.

Zan–!

Fer’s signature Claw Slash attack!

The Acrocanthosaurus’ chest opened up and its head fell to the ground.

I had barely breathed a sigh of relief when the ground began to thump rhythmically once again. Other dinosaurs, attracted by the battle, were thundering over.

I still had my [Appraisal] up when the other dinosaurs appeared.

[5]

Giganotosaurus – Breathes fire, could crush Hihi’irokane

T-Rex – Breathes fire, could chew through Adamantite. Has instant-death-level poisonous claws

Carcharodontosaurus – Breathes fire, could chew through Adamantite. Claws could cut through Adamantite

Carnotaurus – Breathes fire, could chew through Adamantite, has powerful legs and incredible agility.

“… …” I feel like I should scream or throw up at this point.

My familiars, may heaven bless their souls, were thoroughly excited by this development.

“The big one is mine!” Fer roared as he ran towards the Giganotosaurus.

“Then, I shall take on the big-headed one,” said Grandpa Gon as he faced the T-Rex.

““Dibs on that one!”” Dora-chan was already forming Ice Spears in the air to stab into the Carcharodontosaurus.

“”Wheee~~!!”” Sui was being chased around the highly agile Carnotaurus.

I would protest at their frivolous behaviour, but I was too busy facing down a much smaller, but still incredibly vicious Velociraptor that was bashing itself against my personal barrier.

Bwooo—!!

“Of course, it spews fire too!!!” I wailed. “Demiurgos-sama!! Creator God!! Why did you create these things? If you want to create dinosaurs just create them! What’s with all the fire breathing?!??”

““While I did reference Earth’s creatures, one should also add a little originality.””

W-was that Demiurgos-sama?!

“What ‘originality’?! All you did is just add fire-breathing and some random OP killing ability to a standard dinosaur!!”

“Oi, are you shouting at God-sama?!” Fer yelled.

[5]

“”Ah, well, I was young then and did a few experiments. I have completely forgotten about this place, actually…””

“You forgot–!!!!”

“”It’s fine, it’s fine, you have a Fenrir and an Ancient Dragon with you. It’s all fine~””

“”No, it’s not ‘fine’ at all!”

“”Oh my, did someone call me? Goodness, I have to go now. Fare thee well~~””

“Wait, Demiurgos-sama! Demiurgos-samaaa—!!!”

[Gumihou: Okay, edited the familiars facing different dinosaurs to reflect something more dynamic and interesting]

[1] Also, the title is a little difficult to translate.

ノリでのう

The character ‘ノリ’ [1] is the first problematic character. ‘nori’ could mean the nori seaweed (obviously not in this context), it could also mean ‘glue’, but again, probably not. In this case, it’s probably a slang for ‘I’m up for it’ or ‘on a whim’ or ‘vibe’.

On the other hand, it could also be ‘ノリで’ (noride) which could mean ‘impulsively’

What about the ‘のう’ (nou)?

Well, it’s an emphasis-adding particle, or it could also be ‘no, without, not needed, not allowed’

Gumihou: … Japanese language could be so difficult *sob*

For anyone who wants to know more about the mysterious ‘ノリ”

[2] Reduce ‘Gyaa’ Mukouda and just direct anger at the impossible situation

[3] Adjust text for dramatic purpose

[4] Acrocanthosaurus – ‘High-spine lizard’

[5] Did my best to create an exciting scene
