Yu Gangan’s uncle looked at her with a sharp gaze, “I never thought that your methods were more impressive than your teacher’s.”
“Uncle, you are my teacher’s older brother and grandfather’s legitimate son. I respect you,” Yu Gangan said before she stood up and left.
Inside the lawyer’s office, He Wanxin’s shrill voice resounded, “Yu Gangan, stand right there!”
Yu Gangan turned around and saw the angry He Wanxin.
“Yu Gangan, the He Family has done so much for you, yet you’re acting so ungrateful and you even flipped on us heartlessly. Be careful of dying a painful death and being thrown into the depths of hell,” He Wanxin exploded with anger.
Yu Gangan remained calm as she responded, “Before my teacher comes back, I don’t want to waste my time on chit-chat. Since I’m doing everything with a clear conscience, I simply need my teacher’s understanding. I don’t want to explain myself to you.”
He Wanxin stomped her feet and roared, “Yu Gangan, stop acting like you don’t want to take advantage of us while holding onto our clinic. You’re an ungrateful dog; a completely disloyal dog. If I could, I would…”
There was a jade sculpture on the side. He Wanxin picked it up with her right hand, lifted it high above her head and aimed it at Yu Gangan.
Yu Gangan did not move as she reminded the woman coldly, “My dear cousin, when I came here last time with my teacher, I noticed how pretty this sculpture was, so I asked him about it. He told me this sculpture was carved by the famous artist, Yu Jingrong, and it’s worth a few hundred thousand yuan.”
A few days ago, Yu Gangan’s uncle had just paid a bill worth a few hundred thousand yuan. Although He Wanxin knew her father made some money from his business, he wasn’t so wealthy that he could throw money around.
If he was that wealthy, he wouldn’t have his eye on the clinic.
So, as soon as she heard the price, He Wanxin immediately stopped as her face turned red and green uncomfortably. Even when Yu Gangan left with a smile, He Wanxin still stood there holding the sculpture.
He Wanxin gritted her teeth and said, “Yu Gangan, you’re certainly ruthless!! You just wait!!”
Of course, Yu Gangan thought things would be resolved if she refused to open the supplementary will. But, she never imagined that it was not a solution.
Instead…it was just the beginning.
That night, Yu Gangan returned from the clinic. It had been a busy day, so she finished work quite late. On the way home, she turned into an alleyway and took a shortcut. Even though the winding alleyway was quite wide, it was a little dark. But, she often took this route home, so she was used to it. Thus, Yu Gangan wasn’t afraid at all as she slowly made her way home.
All of a sudden, she had a feeling someone was sneakily following her.
The unexpected sense of crisis filled her heart and made her frown. Stopping in her tracks, she turned around and cried out, “Who is it?”
After a moment of silence, two men stepped out behind her wearing surgical masks.
Yu Gangan’s expression changed as she subconsciously took a couple of steps back. She then turned around quickly and started running.
But, because she was in such a hurry, she accidentally rolled her foot a little.
As the pain started spreading, she had no time to worry about it and continued to run. Unfortunately, before she got very far, another two men appeared in front of her wearing surgical masks. It was obvious that they were with the other two men.
Yu Gangan held back her fear and discomfort as she revealed a calm smile, “May I ask what you want? If there’s a chance for negotiation, can we negotiate?”
