Chapter 32: Visiting Yan Lan Part 3

Ye Sui: “What’s wrong?”

Yan Lan: “Nothing, you go do your things.”

Ye Sui thought about it and still felt that something was wrong. Worried, she asked Xiao Liu to make a phone call. Xiao told Ye Sui that her mother’s foot was injured.

Yan Lan didn’t want to disturb Ye Sui, so she deliberately concealed it from her.

Ye Sui was not at ease and was thinking about going to see Yan Lan. But she was miles away. If she wished to go there, she would have to stay there for the night.

In that case, why not invite Chen Shu?

Upon returning home, Ye Sui stared at Chen Shu for a while but did not say anything. Chen Shu discovered Ye Sui’s gaze and asked, “What is it?”

Ye Sui: “My mother’s foot is hurt…”

Ye Sui had not finished, but Chen Shu interrupted and asked, “Is it serious?”

Ye Sui shook her head. “I don’t know.”

Then, Chen Shu spoke directly. “Do you have time tomorrow? Let’s go and take a look?” Since he had promised to accompany her, Ye Sui didn’t need to ask anymore.

Ye Sui was stunned and was somewhat happy in her heart. Chen Shu saw Ye Sui was still standing. “Aren’t you going to pack?”

Ye Sui snapped back to her senses and ran to the room immediately.

The next day early in the morning, the two set off. Chen Shu was driving the car. They would arrive a few hours later, but their journey was unfavorable, just a short distance from their destination Chen Shu’s car broken down.

Fortunately, if they took the 318 bus, they would reach there in time. The situation was not too bad.

The car towing company pulled Chen Shu’s car while he and Ye Sui waited for the bus at the station. It was already evening, and the weather was dusky.

All of a sudden, it suddenly became foggy, and their field of vision became somewhat blurred. They could vaguely see a car slowly driving up to them. Ye Sui squinted at the distance and said, “Is it bus no. 318?”

Chen Shu also looked ahead. The vehicle was hidden under the mist and was barely visible. As the sky grew darker and darker, two beams of pale and cold light were shone on the road.

As the vehicle moved forward, the mist dissipated, and the scenery became clearer. They could see the whole bus now, and it was indeed bus no. 318.

After a while, it slowly stopped in front of them. With a “click” sound, the door opened, making a harsh noise in the eerie silence.

As Ye Sui and Chen Shu were getting on the bus, she glanced at the driver first. It was odd that unlike other coaches, the place where the driver sat had a protective cover.

The driver’s shadow could not be seen clearly and was almost completely obscured.

Ye Sui casually swept the people on the bus; it was almost full. Some passengers used their hats to cover their faces. Some were doing their own things with their heads down. What? Their skin was much paler than that of the ordinary people.

Perhaps, the window was not properly closed as abruptly, there came a gust of cold wind. Ye Sui was wearing a thin coat, but she felt a little chilled.

Ye Sui tightened her already fitting coat and casually said, “it’s already autumn, and it’s freezing fast.”

Perhaps it was Ye Sui’s illusion, but when she spoke, someone turned her head and looked at her. He didn’t appear happy, then he turned his head in a secluded manner and continued to peer out the window.

The atmosphere of the bus was somewhat lifeless. No one spoke, and it was unnaturally quiet. Ye Sui didn’t think of anything else, just feeling that there were so many people here. It was already evening.

Ye Sui was silently sitting in her seat, lost in her thoughts. At this moment, Chen Shu’s clear voice suddenly sounded nearby, “This bus is so empty, it’s only the two of us.”
