Chapter 26: Cheating!( Part 1)

Chang Ying’s face did not recover for a long time, and she also couldn’t figure out why this happened. That night, she suddenly saw a black shadow, floating up from the vase that Chen Xiu had gifted her.

The antique vase ghost had been attached to the vase for a long time. In addition, she had an excessive antisocial personality and had a high moral standard. If she wanted anyone to see her, anyone could see her.

The antique vase ghost deliberately frightened Chang Ying, “Do you know that it was I that made you look ugly? I don’t like anyone who’s good-looking, so you’ll remain hideous for the rest of your life.”

Chang Ying, who was watching, screamed in fear, “Ahh! There is a ghost, a ghost!”

When Chang Ying’s mother arrived, the ghost had already returned to the vase. No matter how much she called, it did not show up again.

The antique vase ghost seemed to like playing tricks on Chang Ying very much, so later, every time when Chang Ying called someone, she would disappear. When that person would leave, she would also come out.

All this time, Chang Ying’s mother suspected that Chang Ying was just in a trance. Fed up with her behavior, she said with distress, “You’re sick. Just have a good sleep, and your face will be good in no time.”

She only thought that Chang Ying cared too much about her face. Likewise, Chang Ying also suspected that her delusions were caused by this problem.

During this time, Chang Ying rarely participated in any event. On the occasional trip, she was photographed wearing a thick hat and a mask.

But looking at the places where Chan Ying had been seen, anyone could tell that her appearance was not as fair as before. In a word, Chang Ying was very different from before, and her spirit was also impoverished.

Chan Ying became a hot topic because of the paparazzi’s news. What was worrying was her Celebrity Index rank. A rumor was spreading that Chang Ying might drop lower than the little flower. She was so angry that she threw things at home again.

(T/N: Celebrity Index is calculated by using data from Weibo, Toutiao, Baidu, and WeChat.)

Ye Sui also heard these rumors. She felt that Chang Ying did not seem to be sick but was being entangled by an evil spirit. She was just speculating and could not prove it.

Since Ye Sui’s allergic reaction incident, with the advice of every other person, her diet these days was very light.

Every time she wanted something a bit heavy to eat, she would always be looked at by a cold and intimidating glare: Chen Shu’s warm, gentle gaze.

Ye Sui had to obediently put down her chopsticks and continue to eat the porridge.

Ye Sui had still not eased from her light diet when she learned some bad news: Chen Shu would leave home for a day due to business, which meant she would have to stay at home alone.

She would face those ghosts alone! A lot of horror images poured into Ye Sui’s head, and she could already imagine her miserable life.

Ye Sui immediately thought of something: buy some exorcism charms and stick them in the room, which might be of some use. No matter how bad it was, this could be used as a shield for her.

Seeing Ye Sui’s distracted face, Chen Shu asked, “Are you afraid?”

Ye Sui looked at Chen Shu as if she were looking at her guardian angel. Before Chen Shu left, she would spend more time with him, letting her absorb as much yang energy as possible.

Ye Sui looked at Chen Shu with an eager expression. “I’m going to Taoist temple today to ask for luck. Can you come with me?” If Chen Shu went with her to seek a talisman, maybe it would be more effective.

Chen Shu did not refuse, “Alright.”

The two set off soon, and Ye Sui put on a mask when getting off to avoid being recognized. Though she was not that popular, with the degree of her anti-fans, some people would still notice her on the way.

Chen Shu and Ye Sui walked together and went a little further to the Taoist temple. While passing by a stall on the road, they noticed a man dressed in Taoist clothes and seemed to be a Taoist priest who did divination and fortune-telling.

The Taoist priest looked different from the ordinary ones. He wore an eye patch on one eye and appeared blind. He also had a long beard, and his appearance was somewhat scholarly-like.

There was also a big streamer hanging next to him, which read the following: No money if it doesn’t work.

Ye Sui withdrew her sight and was just about to continue when a voice rang out from the direction of the Taoist priest, “Young lady, please stay.”

To be continue…
