Ch.241 Bad impression (2)
Probably due to her going to school, the little girl had learned to be able to express herself clearer.
Even though Lin Yueqi was only 17 years old mentally, after this period of time, she had long formed an indestructible bond with Tuantuan. Hearing her say this, her eyes started to feel hot.
It felt like nothing else mattered in this world other than the girl and her aunt.
—
The old Lu residence was located on Fenghuang Hill, and the gated area was equivalent to a small villa neighborhood. After entering the gates, she had to drive for a few minutes still before she could reach the front door.
Several of the Lu family home buildings were English-style buildings, leaning more towards the retro era. The exterior of the buildings was covered in traces of wear and tear, looking very dated.
After getting off the car, several maids came forward to take their bags from them. However, Tuantuan was clutching her little yellow backpack tight, unwilling to hand it off to anyone no matter what. After all, she had a gift for her great-grandpa inside.
Even though she never thought she would see her great-grandpa tonight, she would have to meet him one day, and she had prepared a gift just for that occasion.
Lin Yueqi didn’t feel good troubling someone else either, so she held onto her own bag.
As soon as the two of them entered the house, the first person they saw was Lu Ting dressed in a vested suit, standing by the doorway looking noble and reserved. The man walked towards the mother and daughter and picked up Tuantuan. Then, with his other hand, he took the bag from Lin Yueqi’s hand and put it over his sturdy shoulder.
Bringing Lin Yueqi in, they came to face a hale and hearty old man sitting on the living room sofa.
Even though Old Lu was getting on in years, he was still dressed fashionably. He was wearing a D&M haute couture suit with a pair of thin-framed glasses resting on the bridge of his nose. Even though the old man’s face was wrinkled, he had a rosy complexion. He had a pair of stern eyes as he was a veteran in the business world after all. His aura was naturally not bad.
He was dressed as meticulously as he did on TV with a face just as stern.
When he saw Lin Yueqi enter, he immediately stood up. “You’ve arrived. Let’s go to the dining room.”
Old Lu walked at the front with Lin Yueqi and Lu Ting following closely behind.
When they were some distance away from Old Lu, Lin Yueqi nudged Lu Ting’s waist with her elbow and whispered, “Your grandpa looks just like he does on TV. Scary.”
Lu Ting handed the bag on his shoulder to a maid and raised a finger to his lips, signaling her to quiet it down.
The old man was a very strict and serious person. He did not like being talked about behind his back. Lu Ting’s straight personality was likely the result of the old man’s education by the stick.
Lu Ting waited for the old man to be seated first before putting back a chair for Lin Yueqi. Then, he put Tuantuan down as well. He helped Tuantuan take off her backpack and was just about to hand it over to a maid when Tuantuan caught it, saying, “Papa, I still need my bag.”
“Hm?”
Tuantuan pulled the bag back and put it on her lap. She unzipped it and took out a folded drawing from inside. Like a treasure, she held it high above her head. “Papa, look! This is my present to Great Grandpa! Tuantuan has been waiting for this day for a long time!”
Lu Ting could hardly hold onto the little girl before she jumped off her seat and ran to Old Lu. She unfolded the piece of paper and showed it to Old Lu. “Great Grandpa, look. This is Tuantuan’s gift. Do you like it?”
Old Lu swept a quick glance at Lu Ting before withdrawing his gaze. He looked at Tuantuan and asked, “Little girl, aren’t you afraid of me?”
“Hah? Aren’t you my great-grandpa?”
Being asked a question in return caused the old man to freeze. He nodded. “I am.”
Tuantuan cocked her head to the side and smiled at him. “If you’re my great-grandpa, why should I be afraid? Great Grandpa, look! Do you like Tuantuan’s present?”
On the drawing were five people. Even though the style was very childish, it was still easy to distinguish who was who.
