After leaving the scene of the crime, or rather the place where the event happened, Shien originally thought that he would end up getting interrogated by Diere.

After all, no matter how you look at it, there’s no way someone capable of using [Magic Sword] with such power could be a newbie adventurer.

No, it should instead be said that within Diere’s knowledge, there shouldn’t be a second person capable of using a [Magic Sword] of such power.

If one wants to find an example capable of matching the [Magic Sword] that Shien just used, the only possibility was probably that Hero from legends who managed to split the sea, right?

But even for that Hero who was able to take his [Magic Sword] to such a level, he probably had to put in a lot of time and effort and have raised himself to a very high level before he was able to accomplish that feat.

Any yet for Shien?

From the moment he started learning [Magic Sword] to the point where it displayed such power, perhaps not even a minute had properly passed.

There’s also the fact that Shien’s level is quite low, so for such an earth-shattering result, it would be impossible not to be suspected.

Therefore, the moment they left the wilderness, Shien was prepared to be questioned by Diere.

However, who would have thought that Diere didn’t ask him a thing. All she did was let out a single statement.

“Since you’ve already learned [Magic Sword], then do you still want to learn the other skills?”

Diere, just like that, not only did not pursue further into Shien, but rather instead acted like she had forgotten the pain after the scab’s come off, and gave such a simple signal.

That made Shien rather unsure of just what Diere was thinking.

But, since such a great opportunity presented itself, Shien didn’t want to refuse either.

Thus, after [Magic Sword], Shien also asked Deire to teach him the three skills [Pierce], [Agility] and [Close-Quarters Dodge].

From Shien’s point of view, those three skills all have high usability. One can ignore a certain amount of defenses, another can raise the user’s speed, and the final one can not only help one successfully dodge enemy attacks, but also help one utilize certain conditions to close the distance. For anyone who fights at melee range, that’s definitely a divine skill.

Therefore, Shien does quite want to learn those three skills.

And Diere did not hold back. She unconditionally taught the three skills [Pierce], [Agility], and [Close-Quarters Dodge] to Shien for him to learn.

In the end though, while learning those skills, another unexpected event occurred.

「Skill Gained – [Pierce] – Would you like to learn?」

「Skill Gained – [Armor Break] – Would you like to learn?」

「Skill Gained – [Agility] – Would you like to learn?」

「Skill Gained – [Freedom of Movement] – Would you like to learn?」

「Skill Gained – [Close-Quarters Dodge] – Would you like to learn?」

「Skill Gained – [Instantaneous Shift] – Would you like to learn?」

Just as described above, during the skill learning process, not only did Shien learn the skills that he wanted to, but just like how he gained [Magic Detection] and [Magic Control], he also gained skills beyond what he had planned for.

[Armor Break] was gained while learning [Pierce]. The effect is to destroy the opponent’s defensive equipment and thus lower their defensive power.

[Freedom of Movement] was gained while learning [Agility]. The effect is what it says in the name, it can allow him to ignore outside restrictions to his movement under any circumstance. It even allows him to do stuff like run on walls, move on top of water, or even run like normal even on dangerous terrain without allowing any outside factors affect his movement.

As for [Instantaneous Shift], that was obviously a skill gained while learning [Close-Quarters Dodge].

It’s the second active skill that Shien had gained after [Limit Evolution].

Its effect is quite simple. When receiving an attack, the user can ignore the laws of physics and instantly teleport to another location.

When he gained that skill, Shien was even more excited than when he learned [Magic Sword].

That’s because, it’s basically a limited version of teleportation.

However, since the skill is Instant Movement and not teleportation, there are still limits.

It has three limits in total.

1: It’s only usable when the user is attacked.

2: After use, the location shifted cannot be controlled. The shift is random and not controllable by the user’s intent.

3: The range is limited. The longest distance shifted cannot exceed more than about 10 meters. When the skill was only at level 1, the skill could only shift around a tiny 1 meter.

But even so, this skill seems to be a high level skill that isn’t inferior than [Magic Sword]. Supposedly, there’s not even one person currently within the Mitra Kingdom who has this skill.

Given that, Shien raised it to the max level without hesitation.

Of course, even for the other skills, Shien had also raised them all to the maximum level.

That includes the previously learned [Magic Detection] skill.

In other words, just from this one time under Diere’s teachings, Shien has learned 9 skills from beginning to end, and had raised them all to the max level.

In such a situation, Shien was also surprised to find that his level had also risen.

After learning about this, Diere was silent for a long while before finally opening her mouth.

“Leveling isn’t just limited to combat. It could happen even from normal training. So long as the person has grown, the level could quite possibly suddenly rise.”

In other words, this time was basically that situation.

After learning so many skills, Shien had unquestionably grown in power, so his level had also risen in response.

“However, it’s also possible that it’s the effect of the previous [Magic Sword].” Diere also added such a statement and muttered thoughtfully, “With what happened with that, it wouldn’t be strange even if a number of unlucky demonic beasts were also accidentally dragged in.”

That statement made Shien laugh embarrassingly. He also prayed in his heart. It’s one thing for demonic beasts, but please don’t let it have gotten actual people too.

Otherwise, his crime would have really been major.

As he though that, Shien gave a glance at his current level of [lv.18].

“8 levels at once, huh?”

He feels more and more like the level ups are not just from his own personal growth.

No matter how it was, one thing can be sure though.

That is, with this one day, Shien had become a great deal stronger.

As reality has proven, a cheat doesn’t need one to work to be some kind of superpower.

But, a cheat’s mental damage to the people around his is similarly scary.

At the very least, after she had personally witnessed Shien learning all the skills that she had planned out since level 1 in a single day, Diere was once more silent for a long while.

Afterwards

“Go back on your own for today.”

Diere tossed out such a statement to Shien.

“What about you?”

Shien who was immersing himself in his reminiscing came back to himself and asked.

“Go have a long-awaited battle against demonic beasts of a higher level.”

With such an offhand statement, Diere turned around and left.

Shien wanted to follow, but he was refused.

Without any other recourse, Shien could only turn away his gaze and look back towards the direction of Lamdrion.

“Next is magic.”

So who should he find to learn from (wreak havoc)?

How troublesome.
