Chapter 63 – Cheng Clan Dojo

Naturally, Wei Xiao Bei knew that he was only relying on the benefits from the status panel, so he did not act arrogantly. He treated his master, senior apprentice brothers, and senior apprentice sister with respect. As a result, their impression of Wei Xiao Bei was good.

This was why Cheng Bi Wu gave him the job of instructor.

This position in the dojo was not to be looked down upon. In the entire dojo, his master, big apprentice brother, and second apprentice brothers were the only ones with this position. His third apprentice brother was only an assistant instructor, while his little senior apprentice sister was nothing but a cook.

Although the Cheng Clan Dojo was not big, since they were being paid by parents, then they should teach diligently, and not misguide them.

Because of this, his little senior apprentice sister, whose martial talent was not that great, could never become an instructor. The most she could do was help check the student’s attendance, watch over the gate after class to prevent the younger kids from leaving and wait for their parents to pick them up.

His third senior apprentice brother’s situation was a little different.

Although he had been training for 11 years and was good enough to be an instructor, he does not speak as much and his appearance was not that good. If he were to teach the children, probably half of them would cry out of fright.

As a result, his third senior apprentice was mostly a driver. He could not even check the attendance.

In the past, opening the dojo doors was Cheng Si Si’s job. Now that she has a junior apprentice brother, she would not let go of her authority. She planned to turn Wei Xiao Bei into her successor.

When they opened the door, Wei Xiao Bei smiled at the three early junior high students, “Wang Bo Cheng, Zhang Yu Long, Huang Kun, why are you here so early? Have you eaten breakfast yet?”

The three junior high students had different heights. Wang Bo Cheng was not too short as he had grown to around 170 cm. As he stood in front of Wei Xiao Bei, Wei Xiao Bei felt a bit complex as he saw the student’s white complexion which made him look like an electric pole.

Zhang Yu Long was a bit shorter than Wang Bo Cheng. He was from the Zhuang ethnic tribe, and one of the best students in the dojo. Unfortunately, his father was the owner of the store next door, so he had not yet allowed his son to walk the martial path. Even coming here to learn over the summer took Zhang Yu Long begging a few times before he was permitted. As a result, Cheng Bi Wu’s plan to make him into a personal disciple had already failed.

Huang Kun was different from the previous two. His height was only 150 cm, but his weight surpassed 75 kilograms. He could already be considered as a fat person. The reason he came to the dojo was due to his interest and his desire to lose weight.

However, from his current appearance, he did not lose weight. On the contrary, due to his hard work in training, he ate the most at home and become even fatter.

Naturally, even if training did not decrease his weight, small muscles had already appeared on his body. It could be sort of counted as a  gains.

These three were always the earliest students in the dojo. They were also the most active and had the most questions about martial arts.

As a result, Wei Xiao Bei had already become familiar with them.

“Good morning instructor!”

The three of them were very respectful. Seeing Wei Xiao Bei, they immediately followed the rules and bowed as they greeted him.

Wei Xiao Bei also calmly greeted them.

In truth, most dojos did not have a strict regulation on these formalities.

However, Cheng Bi Wu had a different view. He believed that the reason why Taekwondo became famous around the world was because of its ceremonies.

Whether it was students and instructors meeting each other or exchanging blows with their opponents, the two sides would always bow respectfully. This intangible ceremony had elevated Taekwondo’s quality.

As for whether or not Taekwondo was cool or not, it was not part of the topic.

Cheng Bi Wu had no way to change other dojos, but he could implement it in his dojo. As a result, this was their everyday scene.

After the three students entered, Wei Xiao Bei watched one side of the door while holding the attendance notebook. For every student that entered, Wei Xiao Bei would put a check mark beside their name, indicating that the student had reached the dojo.

After the last student entered, he would close the doors, return back to the practice ground, and wait for Cheng Si Si to double check the attendance.

The instructors would then be separated based on the student’s level of strength, and then bring them to the respective places to train.

They practiced from morning to night, until 5:48 PM, when the last student leaves, and Wei Xiao Bei closes the gates and slowly return inside.

Cheng Clan Dojo was not big, but the amount of students it had was not small.

Other than the fact that the tuition was not expensive, it was the rumour that the local hoodlums could not touch the Cheng Clan Dojo which had allowed it to become famous.

As a result, a lot of the neighbors would send their children to the dojo to learn.

Naturally, the parent’s thoughts were simple.

They did not believe that their children would become martial experts. As long as nothing bad happened to their children then everything was fine.

In other words, they had turned the Cheng Clan Dojo into a nursery.

If there was a guarantee on their children’s safety and they could also learn a few things, then it was a good return.

No matter what was said, the increase in students had made everyone in the dojo tired.

Their dinner for that night was red braised pork which made Wei Xiao Bei happy. After eating dinner, he took a walk around practice grounds to digest the food, and also took this chance to check his status panel.
