As the door opened soundlessly, Luo Yunyang saw a figure sitting cross-legged on the floor. The man looked like a refined intellectual.

When Luo Yunyang stepped through the stone door, the man, who seemed to sense something, looked at him.

His eyes were as bright as day. Luo Yunyang immediately felt a wave of power battering his mind.

When this wave of power struck, Luo Yunyang instinctively wanted to resist it.

He didn’t know whether it would be good or bad for him, but no matter what it was, he wasn’t willing to let someone else’s power enter his body.

Unfortunately, he didn’t have the ability to resist. Countless thoughts and memories popped up in his mind.

Luo Yunyang felt like he was a computer and that wave of power was a USB drive that had been inserted into him.

He quickly compiled its contents and soon understood everything about this wave of spirit energy.

This was Chi Hen, an Ancient Qi refiner. Based on the consciousness left behind by this person, Luo Yunyang knew that he had always been cultivating in this tiny space.

However, for some unknown reason, when that place had been shattered, Chi Hen had entered the human realm and met Zulong’s great-grandfather.

For the sake of obtaining cultivation resources and finding a cultivator just like himself, Chi Hen had become a vassal for Zulong’s great-grandfather, until Zulong had swept away everything before him.

He had cultivated the Ape-Dragon Blueprint.

Unfortunately, due to the fact that the vital energy in the world had been diminishing, Chi Hen had not been able to continue cultivating his techniques. When Zulong had eventually passed away, Chi Hen, who had known that time was limited, had supervised the construction of the tomb and chosen to remain within this crevice in Zulong’s Tomb.

There weren’t many details regarding his life, other than a rough outline, which was mostly about the process of cultivating the Ape-Dragon Blueprint.

Actually, this set of techniques shouldn’t have been called the Ape-Dragon Blueprint, but the Heaven-Battling Ape-Dragon Chart.

Back in his time, Chi Hen had intentionally spread the fundamentals of the Heaven-Battling Ape-Dragon Chart in order to find a successor. This had included the first nine diagrams, which had been circulating around, also known as the Ape-Dragon Blueprint.

Zulong had respected Chi Hen greatly, so he had issued an order that allowed everyone to cultivate this set of techniques. Anyone who could cultivate the first seven diagrams would be given a great reward.

Unfortunately, as years passed by, Chi Hen had been unable to find someone who was able to cultivate all nine diagrams of the Ape-Dragon Blueprint.

Although the Blueprint wasn’t very difficult, human constitution back then couldn’t endure the power absorption of the last two diagrams.

“Where did my forebears come from? Where did the Heaven-Battling Ape-Dragon Chart originate from?” These were the last questions Chi Hen had left behind before he had isolated himself.

Perhaps these questions had stayed in his mind for a long time, because when Luo Yunyang was struck by this consciousness, they suddenly were especially deafening.

Where did my forebears come from? Where did the Heaven-Battling Ape-Dragon Chart originate from?

Luo Yunyang mumbled these words silently. Although he wasn’t Chi Hen, the two questions kept reverberating in his mind.

Luo Yunyang took a deep breath and looked at the area where Chi Hen’s body had been.

A golden painting lay on the floor. When Luo Yunyang picked up the painting carefully, he saw countless images on it.

There was a huge sun and a moon made up of countless Apes and Dragons. The shapes and forms of these Apes and Dragons were really strange. It seemed as if someone had wanted every line and stroke to fit into the sun and moon.

It was the Heaven-Battling Ape-Dragon Chart!

The moment Luo Yunyang’s eyes landed on the painting, a sense of familiarity filled his thoughts.

This familiarity came from Chi Hen. When this bout of mind energy entered Luo Yunyang’s body, he saw that it contained most of the records of Chi Hen’s experiences while cultivating his own Ape-Dragon Blueprint.

From the Earth-Splitting Devil Ape diagram, all the way to the Heaven-Battling Ape-Dragon Chart, every bit and trace of realization was extremely distinct.

Luo Yunyang’s eyes swept across the Heaven-Battling Ape-Dragon Chart slowly. He spent quite some time on every diagram, especially on the last two diagrams, which were the Moon-Swallowing Devil Ape and the Golden Sun-Devouring Dragon. Luo Yunyang spent an exceptionally long time on these two.

He had always felt that his comprehension of these two diagrams had reached a whole new realm, yet now it seemed like his understanding of them was still really shallow.

He had to re-cultivate this part of the Ape-Dragon Blueprint.

As soon as he decided that, Luo Yunyang noticed a red and a yellow jewel about the size of an infant’s fists lying close to where the Heaven-Battling Ape-Dragon Chart had been.

These jewels weren’t actual precious gems. They were Chi Hen’s two source cores, which he had concentrated and sealed before his death.

Contained within them was the pure Yin and Yang Qi that Chi Hen had cultivated for so many years. Although they could be considered a treasure produced during his source power cultivation, their value was even more significant to Luo Yunyang.

As he held the two jewels in his hands, he bowed solemnly towards Chi Hen’s body. Although Chi Hen wouldn’t be able to sense it, Luo Yunyang felt only utter respect for him.

Boom!

As Chi Hen’s body turned into dust, a loud yell resounded through the void. “Where did my forebears come from? Where did the Heaven-Battling Ape-Dragon Chart originate from?”

The voice was unyielding and full of indignation.

Luo Yunyang clutched the Heaven-Battling Ape-Dragon Chart even tighter as he heard this parting roar. He knew that this episode had ended, yet his heart was trembling even harder than before.

As he heard this frantic voice, his body felt like it was wrapped up in something. Thanks to his prior experience, Luo Yunyang didn’t resist. When he opened his eyes, he saw a patch of clear sky.

The familiar sight excited Luo Yunyang!

Being able to escape from such a desperate situation was normally a cause for celebration, yet the entire expedition team looked like a bunch of troops that had just lost a battle. No one made a single sound.

Professor Qin, who was walking in the middle of the group, had basically accomplished his biggest achievement by carrying out his duty during this expedition to Zulong’s Tomb.

He had found the secret formula that was the reason Zulong’s army had been able to sweep aside all its enemies. Although this was an extremely important contribution to the Da Alliance, he couldn’t bring himself to be happy.

“When we return to Chang’an City, we should all pay a visit to Luo Yunyang’s house!” Professor Qin broke the silence.

“What for?” a chuckling voice suddenly said in Professor Qin’s ear.

Professor Qin’s heart skipped a beat when he heard it. When he looked up, he saw a figure bathed in sunlight. The figure seemed to be full of vigor.

It was Luo Yunyang!
