After a month.

“Preparing for the first Time Travel test!” Shuri, Banner, and Scott had prepared the test for a whole month. They were cautious during the experiment as it was dangerous to enter the quantum field without thorough preparation.

Scott opened the back of his minivan, exposing the quantum machine inside and various related instruments.

“The system is online, and the emergency generator is ready,” Steve said as he walked toward the scientists.

“Good, if there is a sudden outage, the machine wouldn’t die now!” Banner said with a worried expression.

“Relax, we are prepared!” Scott said as he walked leisurely.

“Are you sure the preparation is good enough?” Dio muttered, leaving only Scott that could hear him.

“I am not really sure either! I’ve never heard of time travel outside of a movie, and no one can guarantee what will happen in the Quantum Realm! There is no telling what the real situation would be in there!” Scott said as he glanced at Banner and Shuri helplessly.

“Did you guys also know the risk of using this machine?” Dio asked Banner and Shuri.

“Yes, but we aren’t so sure either! None of us knows how dangerous the Quantum Realm really is. Scott is the only one who had a rough idea about it! He is confident as he already survived the Quantum Realm twice!” Shuri said with a complicated look on her face. Shuri herself couldn’t find any scientific reason behind Scott’s successful return from the Quantum Realm, and thus she didn’t know how to ensure everyone’s safety either.

In the end, Banner and Shuri weren’t confident about going into the Quantum Realm, and it all came down to luck! A scientific research that relied on luck as its premise was obviously bad!

“In that case, just make sure that Scott doesn’t do anything reckless! In case someone fails to return, it is his job to bring them back!” Dio said as he sighed frustratedly. Banner and Shuri just nodded their head as they understood where Dio was going.

“Scott! We will send you back to a week ago! We will let you stroll around for an hour before returning you to the present time, approximately 10 seconds from now.” Banner said worriedly.

“Understood!” Scott said enthusiastically.

“Good luck, Scott!” Steve said honestly.

“Of course, captain! Thank you!” Scott said as he immediately entered the Quantum Realm.

“10 seconds countdown! 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1!” Shuri said before tapping the red button. A figure came out from the quantum tunnel from the van, but it wasn’t Scott per se! Well, it is Scott Lang, but it was the younger version of him!

“Guys, there is something wrong here!” Dio said as he turned his attention towards Shuri and Banner.

“What is going on here? How could this happen?” Banner said to Shuri dumbfoundedly.

“I don’t know either! I will try to fix it!” Shuri said to Banner in panic. Shuri and Banner were a little queasy and nervous from anxiety. This result wasn’t meant to happen at all, and thus they had to figure out how to bring back the original Scott!

Shuri immediately snapped her finger and urgently adjusted a certain gauge on the side before pressing the red button once more. Then, the younger Scott was immediately sucked into the Quantum Tunnel once more, and this time they hoped that the original Scott would return!

But complete to their dismay, this time it was the Baby Scott Lang!

“Bruce, what the hell is happening?!” Steve said as he was mortified as he saw a baby lying on the ground.

“He is cute! Maybe we can raise him?” Natasha said jokingly.

“Stop joking, Nat! we have to bring the real Scott back and pause this trial!” Steve said worriedly.

“We are trying to find a way!” Banner said anxiously.

“We have to turn off the power immediately after setting up the time adjustment!” Shuri said as she adjusted the time gauge on the side. “Shutting down in, 3, 2, 1!” Shuri said before the quantum tunnel shook a little bit.

“Ew, my pants are wet!” Scott said as he was back to his real body.

“Thank god!” Shuri said as she was relieved that she successfully brought back Scott.

“What is happening? What is wrong with the machine?” Dio asked Shuri curiously.

“I don’t know! The simulation says it’s a success. What happened earlier shouldn’t ever happen! It seems I made a mistake in my calculation, I have to recalculate everything carefully! I need more time before we can try again!” Shuri replied frustratedly. She was a genius, but she wasn’t omniscience!

If she had a couple of years to make a time travel machine, she would definitely be able to do so, but now that the time was relatively short, she was having a tough time figuring things out!

Although, in a sense, it wouldn’t matter if they managed to invent the machine now or a few years later, everyone else in the universe has already begun to gradually adapt to their current situation. If the world has completely adapted to the current situation, bringing back the casualties would only bring chaos once again! So, they have a time limit in a sense!

Dio looked at Shuri and immediately frowned as he didn’t have the heart to force Shuri to work faster when she had already tried her best.

“It’s probably because of our anxiety! You guys should head back and take some rest. You’re probably tired after working continuously for a full month! There’s no point if you collapse due to fatigue!” Dio said with a smile on his face.

Shuri willingly nodded as she knew that Dio’s word probably was right. She had to take a good rest and clear her head before resuming her work. In scientific research, failure was inevitable, so she had to persevere!

“Scott, you should go back and take a good rest too! I am sorry that I put you in danger this time!” Shuri said honestly.

“It’s fine, I am fine! The Quantum Realms is just like a Walmart, you know. It’s just one big confusing place! I am still willing to cooperate in the next experiment as well, maybe we will pull it off next!” Scott said optimistically.

His optimism slightly eased everyone’s anxiety.

In truth, Scott didn’t want to take such a huge risk, but as he said earlier, too many people have lost their loved ones, and that also included his own daughter! So, as long as there was a chance, he didn’t mind taking it!
