"B-Damien, which division are you in?" Valentina asked with a radiant smile hoping that he was in the same as hers.
Yara Haley walked behind her, curious to see the person Valentina was in love with so badly closer. She was surprised to see the change in Valentina's expression when she talked with Damien. It was nowhere near the stone-cold face she had before.
She was also in the same division as Valentina's.
"I am in division one. What about you?" Damien said as he focused his gaze.
Valentina's smile dimmed and disappeared as she heard his words.
Damien saw her sullen expression and asked, "You got division two?"
"Yes, is there a way I can transfer into your division?" Valentina asked with a hopeful expression.
Damien also didn't like that Valentina was in another division where he can't see her always and see how she is doing.
"Hmm, maybe we can try asking the instructors when the class begins. But the instructor who gave the speech a while ago told us that transfers aren't possible. Don't worry, Valentina. There is plenty of time to meet outside of classes." Damien said with a smile.
"Hey, you! You are the underdog who punched Cedric Clive in the face, right?" An excited voice came from behind Valentina.
Damien looked behind Valentina and saw a scruffy girl and wondered whether she came straight here after waking up from the bed.
"If I am?" Damien asked with an amused smile. He wanted to know what kind of person this Yara Haley was for Valentina to take an interest in talking with her.
Yara Haley said plainly, "Ha! It seems like you are truly fearless not to be afraid of the Clive Family. Now I can see why an innocent girl like Valena is so close to you. I guess I should not be surprised that you already have a lover. After all, who doesn't fall for a bold, handsome and fearless guy?"
Damien asked Valentina with a surprised expression, "You told her about my lover?" He didn't mind if people knew that he had a lover, but obviously, he didn't want his lover's identity to be leaked.
But he doubted if people would even believe the fact that his lover was the Celestial Princess. They would instead think he went crazy after being obsessed with the Celestial Princess.
Valentina's brows knit together, and she said in an anxious tone, "I am sorry, Damien. But don't worry, I didn't tell her who it is. I won't tell anyone else, I promise."
Valentina realized she had inadvertently blurted out the fact that Damien had a lover in the midst of her conversation with Yara Haley. Her mind was so distracted thinking about Damien that she failed to realize that she shouldn't have said that. She decided to be more careful in the future.
She then looked at Yara Haley and said in a stern voice, "You can't tell anyone else what I said. Is that understood? If you do, I—"
"Hey, relax, relax! What do you take me for? I may seem like a big mouth, but I know when to open it." Yara Haley said with a wink. She was surprised how Valentina seemed meek before Damien. She wondered what Damien did to her in these two days.
Damien said calmly, "It's fine, Valentina. I don't mind if people knew I had a lover. But you girl, what is your name?"
Yara Haley said in a spirited tone, "This humble girl's name is Yara, surnamed Haley. You can call me Yara."
Damien chuckled, "Humble? I have heard how Haley Family is a big shot family. I didn't expect to meet the young mistress of the Haley Family so soon. Well, I know girls like you, and you better not corrupt my Valentina."
"Ooooh, 'my Valentina' huh? You are not as decent as you seem. It seems like you have eyes on Valena as well despite having a lover." Yara Haley said with a sly smile.
She continued, "Well, I won't blame you. Which man could possibly resist Valena's bewitching beauty? Isn't that so, Valena?"
"Eh? I…"
Damien said with clear eyes, "You got it all wrong, girl. I am simply looking after her as a close friend."
Yara Haley said in a whimsical tone, "Close, huh? Sure, I believe you. Come on, let's go, Valena. Our first class begins within a few minutes. We will meet your 'close friend' later."
Yara Haley pulled Valentina's arm as she dragged her away. Valentina turned her neck around and waved her hand, "Damien, I will see you after class."
Damien smiled as he waved back. He didn't have much idea about what kind of a person Yara Haley was, but all he knew from the brief conversation was that she was a nosey and talkative girl.
He felt something was going on between them, but he couldn't put his finger on it. But he shook his head thinking that probably it was for the better that Valentina had someone to talk to in her division.
But the exchange between Damien and Valentina didn't go unnoticed by the other disciples. Most men bit their nails in jealousy and discontentment, thinking that their pink haired goddess seemed to be taken already.
When Valentina entered the hall before, silence descended as not only the men but even the girls were stunned seeing her peerlessly artful beauty. They were sure they had never seen someone as beautiful as her and felt that even the stars and moon would pale in comparison to her beauty.
They felt like she was not someone from this world but a goddess who deigned to live in their world. Even those middle-aged men and the elders, who had lived for more than a century, were awestruck and hypnotized by her beauty.
Her exquisite rosy pink hair alone made people stare at her in stupefaction. Still, they didn't even dare to look at her ruby red eyes. Her beauty alone outshone all the beauties in the hall put together.
Some of the Elite disciples who thought they had gathered enough courage to woo her felt discouraged seeing her beauty. They felt unworthy to even be her servant, and the mystical halo around her body made them hesitant to even approach her.
Damien already got the timetable of his classes through his azure armband as the information was directly passed to his soul plane.
'Alchemy class, huh…' Damien didn't expect that he would have alchemy as the first class in the morning.
'I wonder who the teacher is. Hope he or she is not boring.' Damien thought whether he would be sleeping through the whole class as there was not much he could learn. He simply chose it not because alchemy was his interest but also because he was curious about what they were going to teach.
From the institute's layout, Damien learned that although all the Elite batch classes were on the third floor, they were located in four different directions depending on which year the disciples were in.
For Damien, as he was a first-year disciple, his classes were located on the third floor's southern side.
Soon enough, Damien entered his classroom and was surprised that the room was quite big for twenty-five students.
The seats were all one-seaters, and he sat down in a seat close to the window so that at least he could enjoy the view if he was bored.
He saw that at least over twenty students had already arrived. More were slowly coming in. He guessed that everyone would be excited to attend their first class as it was the first day.
He noticed that the cultivation of the disciples in his class varied from the Spirit Ethereal Realm Level Nine to even Earth Ethereal Realm Level Two.
Some gazes fell upon Damien as he sat down. They still couldn't make sense how despite having the weakest cultivation, he surprisingly made it into the Elite batch. However, some of them who saw his fight remembered his terrifying lightning vortices that even suppressed Valentina.
But the rest who didn't see Damien's match didn't believe the absurd rumors going around and thought that it must have been a fluke or that Valentina was too kind to let the match end in a draw. They felt that Damien didn't deserve to be seated among elites like them and only felt pure disdain for him.
Damien saw that most of the Elite batch students were aloof, not bothering to interact with others or even take a glance around. It seemed like they were in their own world. Not that he minded it.
However, some of them were trying to make conversation with others, especially some boys who tried to strike a conversation with the girls.
"Hey, did you hear the rumor that the Ethereal Fairy is here in our Xeton Ethereal Foundation?"
"You can't be joking. Why would the mysterious princess of our empire even come to study here? I heard she is too powerful for her age. Only after 14 years, she left her residence to go to the Rong Empire."
"No, I am serious. My father told me that he spotted her here. I don't think he would lie to me. But think about it. If we get to see her every day, don't you think our days here would be delightful?"
"You have countless girlfriends, and yet you even dare to dream about the Ethereal Fairy. Forget it. No man is worthy enough for her. But even Fairy Valentina..."
Hearing some disciples' conversation, Damien also wondered if Reva was here to join as a student.
*RING!*
The class bell rang out, marking the beginning of the first class. Everyone settled into their seats, and all twenty-five disciples were present.
Damien glanced at the door to see whether the teacher had entered. However, before he took his gaze away, his eyes froze as he saw a figure slowly entering through the door.
