[Get back here! Growl!]
Qin Hua summoned her clone and tossed Coco onto her back as the cat tightly held her just as she had been doing for a while now.
Her paws moved at lightning speed and she leaped back landing several feet away from the black circular aura.
Strange energy flickered out of it and the hole kept enlarging until it finally came to a stop when it became as big as a house door.
The wolf's feral eyes glared at this ominous looking door as this was not the first time Qin Hua had seen something like this before.
This was similar to the black holes on the street from which the green-skinned goblins had walked out. In fact, this one was slightly bigger than those black aberrations.
This made her wonder if this time perhaps something else was going to pop out. Where were these creatures coming from? And how were they able to come to their world?
Qin Hua glared at the hole cautiously. Certain things were beyond her understanding and she didn't dwell on them too much.
If there was one thing that was clear to her, it was that no matter what stepped out of that portal… she needed to kill it!
Qin Hua did not wait around idly for things to happen and immediately began materializing a chaos ball in front of her, ready to shoot it out at the enemy.
Following her lead, Coco as well stared with focus and concentration at the black void.
She was even more clueless but she could sense the seriousness of her master, so she acted accordingly.
In this way, the cat and dog pair continued staring at the black aura for the next few minutes, preparing for a fierce battle. However…
5 minutes… 10 minutes… 15 minutes passed by and nothing happened at all.
The black aura simply remained and nothing stepped in or out of it.
Growl! Qin Hua was perplexed. She did not expect this and this gave her a very bad feeling as if something very strong and powerful resided within the black aura.
It could possibly come out and claim her life at any instant and yet she was not able to do anything.
Woof! Woof! Woof!
Qin Hua ran around the black portal sniffing at it from all directions. She already tried inspecting it but there were no results as her skill proficiency wasn't high enough.
In the end, she couldn't figure out anything at all and waited for another hour wastefully.
She could have left the spot and hunted in other areas but she couldn't just leave a possible treasure trove like this.
Moreover, the other mutated beast cores were no longer boosting her attributes. They were not even useful to hone her combat skills as the fights didn't last for more than a second.
So it was still worth waiting to see if there was any opportunity here. Even worse, this could potentially be a danger waiting at their doorstep, so she ended up spending some more time.
Otherwise, something might attack them when they least expected it. It was not wise to leave a ticking time bomb by itself. So Qin Hua gritted her teeth and waited.
However, a couple more hours passed and nothing seemed to come out of the portal at all.
[Tch. Tch. Just how much longer, do I have to wait here?] Qin Hua growled in annoyance. Time was precious and she couldn't afford to spend her entire day here.
[You keep an eye on this purple. I will be nearby. Woof!]
Qin Hua instructed the clone and was about to walk away and hunt in the nearby areas when Coco standing near her innocently touched the black swirling thing which she had been meaning to touch for a while.
[No! Coco!] Qin Hua growled, but it was too late. The next instant the cat was pulled into the black vortex and not even its scent remained.
[Damn it. Damn it. Damn it.] Qin Hua rampaged on the ground, taking out her anger.
Unlike her, the cat was just a cat and its brain capacity was only that much. At most, she was comparable to a human newborn, so out of curiosity she had acted rashly and was now taken away somewhere.
Qin Hua shuddered at the thought of strange mutated beasts tearing away the small helpless cat. [Fuck. Damn it, Coco. Why won't you ever listen to me!]
First, it was Su Yan, and now it was Coco. She had even almost lost Lu Chen when the ghost freak had toyed with her.
She let out a loud agonized howl that could be heard reverberating through the entire city. For a second, every beast in the vicinity trembled unable to respond to the thundering majestic roar.
Perhaps it was because she let out all her anger in that single howl, she was able to think more clearly and she remembered that the cat was insanely lucky.
Luck could only get someone so much but maybe the portal wasn't a bad thing. What if she stepped in as well?
Qin Hua shook at this terrifying thought. Could she also enter this thing? Where would it take her? To the land of those strange and dreadful creatures?
The possibilities were truly limitless… and more importantly, if she stepped inside, could she ever come back?
She wanted to go in and save the small cat, but there were others that relied on her on this side of this portal. How could she choose?
While Qin Hua clamped her canines down, unable to make a decision, a small sound escaped the black portal.
Meow.
And the next second, the cat walked out just as it had walked in.
Qin Hua looked up in shock only to see the little animal smile back at her as if nothing had happened at all.
[Damn it! You rascal!] She didn't care that her paw was huge and tossed the cat here and there to check for any injuries.
