As no one particularly bothered to lower their voices and speak, Lu Chen could clearly hear all the commotion outside and climbed out of the underground tunnels. "What is going on?"

"You came out?" Alex waved at him and then once again scowled at the two guys in front of her, though the brunt of her anger was directed more at Fang Yuan than Geming.

"Hi."

"Hello."

The two of them awkwardly greeted Lu Chen and then Geming spoke up this time. "Can we talk?"

"Hmmm?" Though Lu Chen also wasn't particularly friendly, he was at least more polite when compared to the other fiery party. "Ok." He nodded.

Geming sighed in relief and quickly explained to him why they were here. "Everyone back in the military camp thinks that you guys are responsible for all the deaths."

"They are preparing to attack you guys with our full force."

Alex's face immediately darkened and she exploded. "Fuck! This ungrateful bitch! Did that bastard spin this story?" She banged her fist on the rod a few times in anger.

"Lu Chen, we should have never let that guy live!"

"Ok. Calm down." Lu Chen shook his head. "Listen up guys. What happened was something different. What I am about to say might not sound believable but that's what happened."

Geming and Fang Yuan grew rather nervous on hearing his words and looked at each other. What could have happened that was so unbelievable even in this current world?

"Your commander was possessed by a ghost and she killed everyone, your own men. We had nothing to do with it."

"Huh? What do you mean? Ghost?"

"But why would he kill our own men? Wait, she?"

Just like he had expected, the two of them indeed did not believe him. Lu Chen smiled and explained everything to both of them in detail.

After a few minutes, the two men were finally convinced. "So you guys just killed the Commander and she killed everyone else?"

"Yup. This is what happened." Lu Chen didn't speak too much about Qin Hua's part in the battle or her strength and chose to avoid those details. Alex, obviously, understood this and cooperated with him.

Though the two of them were aware of the giant wolf that lingered near them, they still did not know anything about her strength and abilities and they wanted to keep it that way.

Hmmm… Fang Yuan nodded. Though he now somewhat understood what had happened, it didn't make him feel any better.

Knowing the whole story in fact did not help at all since the big issue still remained unsolved!

This particular series of events was so difficult to digest even for him so how would the General and the others back at the camp believe this same story?

"So what do we do now?" He was out of his wits and decided to simply ask Lu Chen for his opinion.

However, he was not sympathetic and blurted out bluntly. "Well, I suggest you go back to your base and advise them not to come in our way again."

"Come on, Lu Chen. There are about a thousand people back in the camp and about half of them are ready to fight you guys. Aren't you worried in the least?"

"Even if it is you guys, are you confident enough to manage against an army of five hundred men?"

As opposed to the anxious expressions of the two guys, Lu Chen only calmly smiled. "Ah ha ha. Well, it wouldn't be the first time for us." Just like his ability, his aura and his words were cold and indifferent.

"You don't care about the lives of thousands of people?" Geming took a step forward and asked, blue wisps materializing in his hand.

He didn't plan on fighting with him right here and now, but the man's unsympathetic words were too cruel to hear and had agitated him greatly.

Even Alex now looked hesitant, her resolve wavering but Lu Chen stood erect and immovable like a rock. He didn't care what these people thought about him. For him, something else mattered more and that was his family.

He didn't want to once again burden that person with the weight of a thousand people. The world could go to hell for all he cared.

"I thought you came here to talk peacefully. Now, you want to fight with me? Sure, we can go a few rounds." Just like Geming, he as well stepped forward and an ice spear materialized in his hand.

Seeing that things were about to get out of hand, Alex and Fang Yuan quickly rushed and pulled the two men away from each other preventing a fight from breaking out.

"Geming. Calm down." Fang Yuan muttered and Alex as well did the same. She pulled Lu Chen aside and quietly spoke to him. "Lu Chen. This... shall we first discuss this? I mean among ourselves?"

"How is that going to change anything?" Lu Chen still remained indifferent and responded back.

"But so many people... Are you sure?" Alex was helpless.

"They don't concern us." Lu Chen replied.

"Ok, but that's your opinion. We need to at least discuss this with others once?"

"Do whatever you want. I am going back inside." Lu Chen shrugged and walked away, leaving the three to look at each other blankly.

After a couple of minutes, Alex finally spoke up. "Alright. You know I can't promise anything but I will try my best to talk to the others."

Both Geming and Fang Yuan silently nodded. They were grateful that at least she was willing to listen to them. Alex hesitantly turned to leave, but then she paused.

"Wait. So what are we supposed to do by the way? I didn't quite understand that part... I mean we are not the ones who are preparing for battle right?"

"Ummm so how can we help?"

Fang Yuan sighed and stared at her speechless. This girl... She only knows to fight!
