Kana was currently sitting in a very comfortable room that was set up for her quarantine. She laid back on the bed wearing a long shirt that went down to her the middle of her thighs. In her hands was a book that she had found on one of the selves called the Phantasia: The Princess Knight. At this moment, she felt like she was back on Earth when she used to hide away from the world and got lost in the stories in the books she found. She didn't care if the books were a series or not as long as it was something she could read. The only difference was she was reading out loud.
Lying lazily on her shoulder was Aoi, who was amusing herself with a few small little water bubbles. She had formed them in the shape of people and was having them act out the things in the story that Kana was reading to her.
Like this, the two had been spending their days leisurely after coming back from the magic realm. All the information that Kana had gathered was turned over to the researchers and blood samples so they could run tests on it to see if anything was wrong with her. Their time so far was not too bad. Food was delivered in many varieties, and anything else Kana needed was just a request away.
Four days had passed, and Dean William said she would be free from quarantine in three more days. She could then begin attending classes. Kana read another paragraph and let out a sigh. "This Alicia is dumb. She runs away every time she sees this Blake guy and blushes every five seconds. Her actions alone make it obvious she likes him. Why not go up and kiss the boy?"
"Kana, what's a kiss?" Aoi asked after hearing Kana's mumbling.
"A kiss is when a person uses their lips and presses them on someone or thing. This action is considered a kiss." Kana explained the best she could.
"Like this?" Aoi asked as she pushed her lips onto Kana's cheek.
Kana smiled and nodded her head: "Yes, that is a kiss. Thank you. But remember only kiss those who you like or love."
"What's love?" Aoi asked, staring at Kana expectantly. She seemed to have a great interest in all these new things.
"Love is well..." Kana tried to think of how to explain this. As he was thinking, Creige's face popped into her mind, causing her to blush slightly. "It is when you find someone who cares a lot about you and you care a lot about them whether it is family or friends. There are different kinds of love as well. From someone who you wish to spend your entire life with to familial love such as close family like your brother or sister, mother or father. Familial love can also extend to close friends who are not blood-related to you. The love you have for them can be just as strong as anything that deals with blood ties. Then the more distant but close love for other relatives."
Aoi went quiet for a bit as if she was lost in thought. When it seemed like she understood, she tilted her head to the side and asked: "Does Kana love me?"
Kana smiled as she poked Aoi. "I do. Aoi is now one of my family members. In the future, you will get to meet the rest of those I hold dear. Ceilie, Tilia, and Creige, along with you, I now have four people I love."
"Hehe!" Aoi giggled, and for some reason unknown to her, she felt bashful. She found the more time she spent with Kana, the more she learned and the more she experienced. She was very glad Kana was the one who found her.
The last three days passed by quickly, and Kana was finally free from her quarantine. Kana stepped outside for the first time in a week and stretched her arms. "Miss Kana, your dorm is right down this road at the end, room five. Here are the keys. Your dorm mate is your friend Kiliffia."
"Okay, thank you, Dean William. I have troubled you these past few weeks." Kana felt bad. Dean William had been helping her a lot since she came to the Academy. Her words were filled with her utmost sincerity.
Dean William shook his head. "No, it had been my pleasure to help out the hero of Rural. You have saved our kingdom from those who wished to harm us. If anything, I am at your beck and call if you need it."
Kana really did not know what to say. People treated her like a hero, but she really didn't do much at all. It was Creige and the goddess who cleaned up everything. If not for them, she would be dead, and the Kingdom of Rural would have been conquered by now.
After saying her goodbyes to Dean William, Kana walked towards the dorms but was stopped halfway when a fat cat man stood in front of her. "My young master wishes to see you."
"Reason?" Kana asked. She was in a hurry and wanted to quickly go and see Kiliffia to see how she was doing.
"My Young Master wishes to invite you to have tea. He has some things he would like to speak to you about." The fat cat man replied. He tried his best to smile, but his smile was very ugly.
"No thanks." Kana said as she went to step forward only to have the fat cat man block her.
Puffing out his chest, trying to make himself look as intimidating as possible, he lowered his voice as he said. "You do not seem to understand. My young master insists that you come and have tea with him. It would be in your best interest to just comply. He is the son of a very influential man in the kingdom if you understand what I mean."
