1153 First Trial Part 6
"An invasion!?" Helden cried out. He was already stunned enough that the human girl who almost died in his office was a princess. Now she was here to warn about an invasion!?
"An invasion, you say? Why risk coming all the way here to tell me this?" The king asked.
"Because I do not think humans and beastkin should be at odds. I never have. I have tried to talk to my father about it many times, but I only get punished in return. I only happened to hear about the invasion when I was passing by his office. I made a habit of it when I roamed the castle to get the gossip of the outside world. When I heard this, I made plans and was able to escape thanks to my maid taking my place. To be honest, I do not think she would be noticed since my father never cared too much about me anyway. The number of times I have met him can be counted on both hands.
"I came here hoping to see you so I could give you this warning. From what I know, the church is behind it all. They will send a massive army along with the church's forces to wipe out this kingdom." Tilia spoke clearly and honestly. She did not hold anything back.
The king sighed and looked at the young girl in front of him. She looked no more than twelve. But here she was, risking her life to give him a warning about her own kingdom. "Stay here and rest. Once things are cleaned up in the castle, you will come and become my daughter. A princess should be treated like a princess."
Kana raised an eyebrow. It seemed this king was no different from the last. He would take Tilia as his daughter. Tilia's eyes turned red. She lowered her head, trying to stop herself from crying. The king smiled and placed his big hand on her small head. He had many children. He understood the meaning of being a father. He could see this girl was willing to give up everything. She came here knowing she might end up living on the streets. He could not return good with evil. She wanted to warn him and save his kingdom from impending doom. As such, he would return her kindness with his own.
"Now then…." The king gently gave Tilia and hug before looking at Kana. "Miss Kana, you were able to pull me out of prison. What do you plan to do next?"
"Someone is using your seal to become enemies with humankind. They want to paint this kingdom as a kingdom that will kill humans on sight. I have a feeling this is a ploy to make war happen between the two kingdoms. But there is a flaw in this plan. Too many people have lived under your rule. Many question these new laws." Kana answered as she paused and looked deeply at the king. "Who was it that sent you to prison?"
"I am not sure. I was given a knockout drug. I am not sure if the maid who gave me the tea is still alive or not, but if she is, we can question her." The king replied.
"Can you describe her for me? Does she have any distinct traits?" Kana wanted to probe the castle and hopefully find this girl.
"She had a small scar on her left cheek. Other than that, she had her hair tied up." The king replied.
Kana nodded and let her divine sense sweep the area. She searched the whole capital until she stumbled upon a room she wished she did not stumble upon. "She's alive and well…. A little too energetic."
"Oh?" The king was a bit confused.
"She is in a house in the noble district. I believe it is your prime minister." Kana frowned. She wanted to wash her eyes. She did not need to see that scene just now.
"So it is him…." The king frowned. He had a feeling, but he had no evidence.
"Well, it could be him. We do not know for sure. But we can go over and ask him." Kana tore the space in front of her and stepped through it. Disappearing from the room. She did not plan to take anyone with her.
In a dimly lit room, two people were lying on a bed, passionately making love. Kana stepped into the erotic scene with a cold expression on her face. She did not say a word before wrapping the two in her spirit power and tanking them out of bed.
"What!?" the man yelled out as he dangled from the air. He looked down to see a young girl standing there looking at him coldly. The maid, who had also been hanging in the air, tried to scream but found her voice would not come out.
Kana did not say anything before wrapping both people up in the blankets and opening a new tear and space. She threw them through it before stepping in herself. "Here you are."
Kana's words broke the silence in the room. Everyone was looking at the two people on the floor who were rolled up in blankets in confusion. "You work a little too fast…."
"I do not like to waste time," Kana said. She then turned to Ceilie and said: "Ceilie, can you bring Tilia to another room?"
"Huh? Yes!" Ceilie quickly pulled Tilia away. She knew the current situation was not something that Tilia and her should be involved in.
"Your Majesty! What is the meaning of this!?" The prime minister yelled out. He did not seem to care if he was speaking to the king or not.
"Mr. Small, why are you not asking how the king is? Or how he got out of prison? As the prime minister, you should be the most worried about your king since you are his closest aide, are you not?" Kana's words were like a bucket of water being bored on the prime minister. When he thought of his words just now, he realized he had messed up!
