Chapter 119: Have You Finished Talking?

Chi Qing had come to have a meal with the production team, to welcome a person. Director Lu had generously invited the entire production team into Green City’s most prominent hotel.

It was really a coincidence.

“Are you sure… it is the illusion herb?” Su Huiqing pursed her lips as she asked in a low voice.

Hearing her voice, Chi Qing turned his gaze away from Yu Shijin as his smile faded.

He nodded nearly imperceptibly.

His eyes dimmed slightly.

His fists were tightly wound.

He would never forget that it was because of this herb that he missed the chance to go with her to the international battle.

By the time he got the news, all he could do was to watch Chi Yue and the gang find her body.

It was a memory that Chi Qing was most unwilling to recall.

Everytime he thought of it, he felt the impulse to destroy something.

Luckily this person was standing right in front of him, safe and sound.

“It’s fine if you don’t want to.” Chi Qing lowered his head to look at her, his voice calm and relaxed. “As for the illusion herb, if you want it, I will help you get it.”

He sounded very confident.

Su Huiqing looked at his serious expression and shook her head slowly. “Director Lu has been kind to you. It will not be good of you to do that.”

Chi Qing didn’t answer but just returned Su Huiqing’s gaze with a grave expression.

He was not joking.

He could make it up to Director Lu in other ways. At the very most, he would just participate in a few more of his films.

But he knew just how much Su Huiqing hated being in front of the camera.

Even after so long, there were no photos of her at all, not even of her back profile.

Chi Qing had no idea how she managed to face the cameras of those reporters.

But his heart twisted fiercely when he saw those interviews on the internet.

No matter how many times he replayed those clips, he could not detect any unease on her face.

He didn’t know if she had truly let go of her unease, or she had just gotten better at acting. He really couldn’t detect the slightest tension.

As a result, he decided to ask her.

“Tell him I agree to it.” Su Huiqing stated very calmly, as she put her hands into her pocket.

With that, she glanced at Chi Qing’s dazed manner.

She chuckled.

It was a very low laugh.

If it was before, she might have hesitated. But the illusion herb was something she truly needed.

She was too weak now. She could not return to the International Association or Unknown Island before regaining her peak form. As a result, she had to try all means to enhance her powers.

She couldn’t let herself or the Su Family come under any risk.

Chi Qing patted Su Huiqing on the shoulder.

At this moment, Yu Shijin extinguished his cigarette and strolled over in a relaxed manner.

His eyes were dark and his expression nonchalant.

He exuded elegance and aristocracy.

If he hadn’t been purposely concealing himself, it would be impossible for anyone to overlook his presence.

Su Huiqing raised her brows and turned to look at him.

Chi Qing lifted his gaze to see Yu Shijin already standing right before them.

The atmosphere in the corridor was very taut.

It was also eerily quiet.

Chi Qing smirked.

He would never forget how Yu Shijin stopped him from investigating Su Huiqing.

Su Huiqing had no idea of the conflict between these two but could feel the enmity between them. As a result, she pointed at Yu Shijin. “Chi Qing, Mr. Yu is now my friend.”

Yu Shijin’s expression warmed slightly as he nodded at Chi Qing.

Chi Qing was not impressed by his cold, arrogant manner. He just ignored him and put on his sunglasses. “I will contact you again later tonight.”

Su Huiqing agreed. “Alright.”

Yu Shijin’s frosty aura intensified.

“I’ll take my leave for now then.” Su Huiqing nonchalantly turned to leave.

But she was held back by Yu Shijin.

Su Huiqing halted and glanced sideways at Yu Shijin.

His hands had a layer of calluses, the scars left behind from repeated use.

Su Huiqing’s body had led a well-pampered life, and she could clearly feel the roughness of his palm.

A strange feeling arose in her heart.

“You…” Su Huiqing started to speak but before she could finish her sentence, Yu Shijin interrupted.

“Since we are friends, don’t call me Mr. Yu, alright?” Yu Shijin continued to hold onto her, gazing into her eyes, his voice low and persuasive.

“Alright.” Su Huiqing nodded, returning his gaze patiently. Her lips curled up in a natural smile.”

“All my friends call me Brother Yu.” Yu Shijin continued coolly. “You can call me that.”

Su Huiqing glanced at him.

She then slowly removed herself from his hold and lifted her chin to look at him. Her tone was also very cool. “All my friends call me Queen. You can call me that.”

“Are you being serious?” Yu Shijin noted her earnest expression. His eyes darkened.

Su Huiqing straightened her clothes, looking very clean and pristine.

Her face was open. “Does it feel like I am joking?”

Yu Xiangyang was heading for the toilet after being plied with drink by Chu Xuning. He overheard their conversation and was struck dumb.

Damn, these two people must be trying to make him laugh to his death, and then take over his inheritance!

That afternoon, after being cut off by Chu Xuning and plied with alcohol, Yu Xiangyang was mercilessly bundled up and sent home by Su Huiqing.

Su Huiqing applied for a leave of absence from Teacher Wan, before driving him back to Su Corporation.

Ning Wenxue had been settled.

But she would never forget that call from the Ning Family last night.

And Su Lun, who didn’t come down for breakfast in the morning. Su Huiqing knew the Ning Family must have made a move.

But the current Su Family was no longer a family to be messed with.

Su Huiqing pushed open the door to the office. Xie Zhengyuan was already waiting for her.

“Arrange a specialized team for me.” Su Huiqing sat in front of a computer and started typing on the keyboard.

Her fingertips were cold in their movement.

Xie Zhengyuan started to make the arrangements. He fell into deep thought as he observed Su Huiqing’s vehement typing.

At the same time, Yu Shijin returned home in a good mood.

He suavely entered the front gates.

A figure stood within the doors.

Chief detective and the Chu family were respectfully standing beside that person.

Yu Shijin’s eyes dimmed when he noticed that person. Nevertheless, he continued up the steps within any hesitation. “Let us speak upstairs.”

After the two of them went upstairs, Chu Xuning touched the Chief detective’s shoulder. He gazed curiously at the second floor. “Who is that?” Who could hold such influence?

Chief detective quietly spat out. “Someone from the International Association.”

Upstairs.

Yu Shijin sat on the couch and set aside one of the documents on the table. He looked coldly at the person. “Speak.”

The person bowed respectfully. He knew Yu Shijin’s personality and spoke in a very straightforward manner. “Master Yu, Ms Dugu has arrived. Madam wishes for you two to meet.”

The air suddenly turned cold as the temperature dropped several degrees.

“Have you finished talking?” Yu Shijin glanced up frostily at that person.

A harsh, chilly light flickered deep within his pupils.
