Chapter 100: Not Joking At All

No one dared to disregard Yu Shijin’s words.
Just two days ago, Qin Dui managed to get a warrant within one night, but Yu Shijin managed to obtain one in just an hour.
Currently at the Zhang Family’s meeting room.
As they had been holding onto a large batch of herbs, the Zhang Family suffered a major and potentially fatal financial blow.
Zhang Mingxi was well aware of the situation, but he was not anxious as he had a bank card from the International Association. He checked and saw that it held $900 million.
$900 million was nearly enough to cover the Zhang Corporation’s losses.
If it was anyone else, he would have suspected why they were willing to put up so much money. But this was Kyle they were talking about. Kyle was used to handling hundreds of millions of dollars.
The meeting room contained all the investors who wished to cooperate with the Zhang Corporation.
They had all come because of Kyle.
It had only been four days since the International Association’s investment competition started, and the Zhang Family, led by Kyle, was already holding onto a comfortable lead. Their group possessed a resounding reputation and countless admirers had come forth.
Kyle, who was the International Association’s smartest economist, had since gradually emerged in the limelight.
Once again, Zhang Mingxi was relieved that he had kicked Su Huiqing aside and chosen Shen Anan instead. Shen Anan had greatly surprised him.
“I believe that you have made the right choice.” Zhang Mingxi surveyed the investors sitting inside the meeting room with a smile. “I will definitely bring you all into the International Association.”
The entire meeting erupted in applause at his words.
“Alright, let me lay out the details of our partnership…” Zhang Mingxi took up some documents and was just about to start his powerpoint presentation.
At this point, the doors to the meeting room were thrown open. A group of people walked in, led by the chief detective in full uniform. “We received a tip-off that the Zhang Corporation is implicated in financial fraud. We are now launching an investigation into the Zhang Corporation’s finances. Please cooperate with our investigation.”
This seizure was not the same as the earlier one for the Su Corporation. No one was joking and no one was stopping them.
News of this was also splashed across the media, and all the businessmen in Green City were feeling very anxious.
Su Corporation was the one which was supposed to be seized but had remained unscathed. Instead, the Zhang Corporation was now the one under seizure.
Meanwhile, that big shot who had arrived at the capital a few days ago seemed to have disappeared overnight.
The one who came to the fore was the Chu family. Having usually kept a low profile, their swift and decisive action sent shockwaves throughout Green City.
If not for the Chu family’s action, nearly everyone would have forgotten their origins!
Zhang Mingxi was no fool. He knew there was more than meets the eye in this matter.
He had no idea why these people would suddenly seize the Zhang Corporation but he instinctively drove over to find Kyle. “Mr. Kyle, the Zhang Corporation has been seized and Anan is still at the police station. What should we do now?”
Zhang Mingxi truly had no idea what to do.
He had already gathered all the necessary investors, including some key figures.
But these people refused to meet him the moment they knew he was seeking them.
Those businessmen who originally wished to partner up with the Zhang Corporation all dispersed without a word after knowing that the Zhang Corporation was being seized.
“I really underestimated Xie Zhengyuan.” Kyle looked at some complex numbers on a screen, his eyes turning slightly more frosty. “But don’t worry, such petty tussles have never been my strong suit…”
He lifted his eyes as he placed his hand over the mouse. A smile drew across his wrinkled face. “You should know that I am best at playing the stock market.”
Green City was just a tiny city and could be easily played into his hands.
Unfortunately…
Su Huiqing nonchalantly brushed her hair back.
She was also very good at playing the stock market.
She had already arrived at the Su Corporation, and was sitting in front of a computer in the projects department.
It was the entry page to the International Investment Competition.
The International Investment Competition was not your typical investment contest. Real cash was being used here and one truly had to rely on one’s capabilities.
This was also a good opportunity for those committing financial fraud.
Previously, Kyle had been sent to the International Prison because he had committed financial fraud involving a massive amount of funds. The people who rescued him must have been eyeing his ability to generate and launder money. Hence, Kyle would definitely make use of this competition to carry out money laundering.
Since he had already taken the bait, all she had to do was to gather the evidence against him.
Su Huiqing placed her hands on the black keyboard. She had said eight years ago that she would never enter the stock market again, unless absolutely necessary.
But she would have to break that vow now.
She was not the only one in this department. There were other talented youths led by Xie Zhengyuan himself.
“President Xie, why did you let this young lady in?” A youth sold off his short positions and observed the Su Corporation team climbing one spot higher on the table. Only then did he smugly turn around to look at Xie Zhengyuan.
Xie Zhengyuan didn’t answer straight away but just gazed toward Su Huiqing. He chuckled. “I forgot to tell you guys. Ms. Su is also a member of our team for the investment competition.”
“This young lady?” Several of the youths widened their eyes. “Are you joking?”
What did this young lady know about playing the stock market?
Did she even know what stocks were?”
Xie Zhengyuan’s cell phone rang. It was a message from Qi Lan from the International Association: Why is your Su Corporation just barely within the top hundred? What about that person who nearly bankrupted our company?
He replied: Just wait.
He then looked at the youths standing beside him and leisurely lit a cigarette. “I am not joking. Just wait and see.”
Seeing Xie Zhengyuan’s attitude, the youths couldn’t help turning to gaze at Su Huiqing.
She was just about to log into her account.
She lifted her eyes slightly. With her hands on the keyboard and her long hair shielding off half her face, she looked exceptionally cold and distant. She typed in a few keys.
Very quickly, four black words appeared on the account login page.
