The initial attack was just to cause a distraction.
Sam kicked off and turned his attention to the closest opponent who had a sword in his hands. He is from the Thor Academy and he is also a lightning user. Looking at Sam who looked like a weird demonic creatures with his purple-red color and pale skin, he created a sphere of lightning around himself to defense.
*BAM*
Sam's staff landed squarely on the sphere and shook it.
*SWOOSH*
An arrow came at Sam from a different direction. He took a turn and swung his staff at it. The arrow was deflected and went in the direction of another opponent. Meanwhile, the swordsman from Thor Academy braced himself and attacked Sam from behind.
*CLANG*
The sword clashed with the staff because of Sam's defense who already turned around to meet the opponent and the next moment a flurry of exchanges began in between.
*BANG* *BANG* *BANG*
The staff and sword clashed with explosive metallic sounds as the lightning destroyed the surroundings. By now the rest of the opponents managed to regain some senses from Sam's initial attacks and started focusing on him.
*BANG*
Sam blocked the sword attack with his staff while holding it with one hand and caught a spear coming at him.
*SWOOSH*
He threw the spear towards the flag. A woman from a different academy was slowly reaching out to the flag and the spear brushed past her cheek. A small cut appeared. She was a bit shocked and her heartbeat raised crazily.
At first she thought it was just from the rush of being attacked.
However she soon realized that something is wrong. Purple lines appeared on her body and they started from her cheek. Her body started paralyzing a bit. On top of that, the death energy started invading her body along with that poison.
The heartbeat is because of that poison as well.
The next second, Sam became more aggressive with the opponent. He used the staff like a cue stick and hit the swordsman squarely on the chest. The water energy with its purple and red hue sent the man flying while the recoil crashed Sam into the water.
*SPLASH*
He disappeared into the water.
It is eerily similar to the recoil hit White uses.
Everyone was stunned, but the next second the opponents rejoiced. Sam did exactly what they wanted. They wanted him to be effected by the water. What they failed to notice is that the next second, Sam appeared came out the water right behind the injured woman.
*SPLASH*
She was swallowing antidotes crazily, but without even her noticing, Sam swung the staff at the back of her head.
*BANG*
She was flung in the air with the hit and a Shadow undead appeared in her path. The undead swung its staff once again. The woman lost her consciousness by now and took the hit directly. She flew over once again and this time she intercepted three arrows that were actually aiming at Sam.
She blocked those arrows like a meat shield and then fell into the water.
The opponents were stunned by the sudden turn of events. Before that, they were already a bit surprised by how well Sam is holding up along with his shadow undead, but they still had the situation under control.
Now, they don't feel the same.
"Quick, pull her out before she is effected by the water."
One of the opponents screamed while he attacked Sam to make sure he didn't interfere. He is a spearman and he is very quick on his feet. Two people over to rescue that woman.
*BANG* *BANG* *BANG*
The staff and the spear clashed. The spearman is a neutral warrior with no elemental affinity. During their clash, three arrows were shot at Sam from three different directions. He kicked the spearman back before swinging his staff at the arrows.
The three arrows went in a different direction, precisely to the two people that were rescuing the woman.
They had to take a step back as they looked at Sam in shock.
Even when he was outnumbered, he is still controlling the battle, very well. They knew he is a troublesome opponent, but they still underestimated him.
Sam looked at the spearman and said.
"You are good. But I am still getting bored." He made his move. The hydra's bloodline riled up a bit. With his vampire side also acting up, the whole lake started reacting to him. The opponents could feel that Sam is connected to the water somehow.
He slid on the water like he was skating on ice as he attacked the spearman.
*BANG* *BANG* *BANG*
After three blocks, Sam's legs suddenly dipped into the water until his knees were covered, but he stepped forward. The spearman missed Sam. Sam on the other hand moved forward and closed the distance.
He used his staff to tip the Spearman off balance by hitting him on the legs, the next moment he caught off the guy and dragged him down into the water.
The spearman struggled. Likhma also controlled his vine to catch hold of the spearman. The vine dove into the water trying to follow him. He even wanted to attack Sam and buy some time.
Too bad, Sam disappeared inside the lake and before the vine could catch a hold of the spearman, he was kicked to a different side and Sam kicked him out of the water high into the air. A shadow undead that was about to be hit by arrows was defended by the spearman even though he didn't want to do it.
One arrow injured him, while he fended off the other two. The undead took the chance and kicked the other opponent off, before hitting the spearman in the back of his head.
Sam shot out of the water and hit the spearman under his chin with the staff. The hydra's point infected him while he fell into the water. Sam came out and pressed the spearman under his feet, keeping his head under the water and forcefully making him drink the lake water.
When the spearman finally lost consciousness.
Sam disappeared after destroying the spearman like that. He moved underwater while the shadow undead kept as many people active as possible. It seems like Sam figured out an optimum way to fight in the lake now.
A shadow undead that was surrounded by four people kicked one of them away, creating some distance, the next moment, Sam appeared from under the water there and hit that man on the spine, sending him in the path of an arrow.
After taking that arrow the man flew towards a different undead which slammed him on the head with the staff.
*SPLASH*
The opponent fell into the water and Sam who disappeared from the previous position appeared there and held the man's head underwater.
A few people that are attacking the undead stopped doing that and ran over to rescue that man from Sam and this is another opportunity. The pressure of the undead reduced and Sam appeared near one of them.
*BANG*
The undead hit the woman and sent her flying and Sam appeared behind her before returning the hit. It is like the undead and Sam are playing a game and they are precise enough to let these opponents block the arrows and spears for them.
The next five minutes, that is what the spectators saw.
Sam disappeared into the water and held an opponent under it. The others do not have any other choice than rescuing them. But that is leaving an opening for the undead and they are targeting one particular person among them and then hit him like a tennis ball.
Sam is appearing out of nowhere and is sending them back.
Likhma who is already spending a lot of his focus on keeping the formation stable is unable to do anything to help the rest of his companions. He is getting increasingly nervous and he can also see that everyone that got hit by Sam has purple lines all over their bodies.
Their skin is turning purple and grey.
And the longer they are staying in the water, the greyer they are becoming.
Soon, only six people left and the undead targeted each of them.
Sam on the other hand looked at Likhma with a smirk on his face. Likhma modified the formation a little bit and wanted to shoot wooden pikes at Sam with all of his ability, but the next moment, Sam disappeared into the water and reappeared right in front of Likhma.
He stood on the water while holding the staff with one hand as it rested on his shoulder. He looked Likhma dead in the eye and whispered.
"Come on, with the level of confidence you have shown, you should be much more capable than this. Do you really think your pikes and their poison can affect me? At least maintain intellect equivalent to your arrogance."
Likhma shivered and the formation shook.
He wanted to take off the formation and run away, but for some reason, his body is not following what his brain thought.
"And here is how you use the environment to create a proper attacking formation."
As soon as Sam spoke, the lake water riled up and several water pillars rose at the edge of the lake and created a huge Hydra with the water, and the nine heads shot into nine different points of the formation.
The water sucked the vitality out of all the vegetation and Likhma lost control instantly. He could feel his vitality being slipped away from his body and he fell onto his knees in the next three seconds.
Sam held him up with the staff by his chin and asked.
"Now, who the fuck made you do this?"
