Countless bullets soared through the sky in chase of the figure of the two in movement.
Whilst they continued their run, Gray's eyes widened as he came up with a solution.
The two dropped down another level, to avoid the bullets, and teleported on top of another building before continuing their run.
"Ria, I have a plan... But you'll have to listen carefully." Said Gray.
"Aurora, did you catch where Gray went?" Violet asked, as they floated downwards.
Aurora shook her head.
"Ria disappeared along with him, they're probably engaged in a fight..." She said.
The two landed on top of a small broken down shop.
A zombie which had been moving around on the rooftop, lunged at them.
[Ice javelin-]
It hit the zombie cleanly in it's chest, freezing it almost instantly.
"What should we do now, then?" Violet asked as she placed her hands beneath her chin.
Aurora looked around, she had gotten a good view of the city from above along with Violet.
Based on it, the best thing and only thing they would be able to do was...
"Let's help the people fight back... As many as we can." She said with a determined look.
Her hair flashed a bright blue glow in resonance to Violet's purple glow when she nodded.
"Alright-"
Violet was interrupted as the large run down building down the road, beside them suddenly collapsed.
They turned to the direction and their eyes widened.
With dark clouds gathered In the area, they saw a bright giant blue being emerge from the top of the building.
Wide ebony eyes sit concealed within its rounded, narrow skull. A row of small horns runs down the sides of each of its jaw lines.
Rows of large teeth poked out from the side of its mouth and A long neck runs down from its head and it's long lizard-like body, all made of pure lightning.
With it's mouth wide open as it crashed through the building, it let out a raging roar.
A dragon made of thunder.
"No way... You're kidding me, right?" Violet asked, her mouth open in disbelief.
Aurora didn't say anything and just stared. She was speechless, her heart sank.
*CRASH!*
Ria turned her head, to the source of the sound.
Even though it was quite a distance away, she could see it clearly. A glowing blue dragon of lightning.
"Brother!"
Gray glanced in the direction, his left eye narrowed as he frowned in annoyance.
His eyes glowed slightly, his superior sight allowed him to see the being controlling it.
On top of the dragon's forehead, a young man rested with his legs crossed. Who wore, a different type of uniform than the one he was acquainted with.
It belonged neither to the military nor the opposition corps.
'The enemy.'
Gray's eyes shifted back onto what lied ahead of them.
"Focus on the plan." He said.
The two's run slowed down, before eventually coming to a stop.
"Hm...? What are they doing?" The sniper asked as he kept his sight locked onto them.
He placed his finger on the trigger before taking in a deep breath. "Guess they've given up... If that's the case, I'll end it here."
[Rapid Magnetic Bullets.]
[Target Locked On.]
"Fire." He said.
Ria watched nervously as the two stood there. Gray shut his eyes, focusing all of his senses onto the surroundings.
He shut off all the sounds coming from the surroundings, and focused on the faintest sounds he could hear.
The air around him changed.
*Ps* *Ps* *Ps* *Ps* *Ps*
Ten consecutive shots fired each a twentieth of a second away from one another.
It was faint, but he could hear it, the quiet sound of a silenced rifle being fired off at them.
He was hearing the sound coming from one single direction. Although he couldn't exactly pinpoint it.
Gray's eyes opened wide, and in that instant, it reflected a bullet drawing closer to it.
'Time stop.' The words flashed through his mind.
. . .
Everything became black and white. The sounds of the fighting, and war completely faded.
Complete silence and not a trace of any movements could be felt.
Time had stopped.
As of this moment Gray was the only life form to exist and function... In this world of stopped time.
Despite that, he stood completely still, not moving a single muscle.
His eyes which had been staring at the bullet ahead of him, slowly looked around.
Beside him was Ria with a desperate look on her face and her hand stretched out towards him. He had noticed signs of a small portal opening up ahead of him to stop the bullet.
To her left, two bullets could be seen about to collide to one another and ricochet onto her.
There were antoher three bullets to his right, they seemed to be bending towards him in a way.
He could only imagine the other remaining bullets were in their blind spots.
[3 seconds passed.]
Gray had learnt that the damage he gained when he stopped time was proportional to how long he spent there and how much he moved.
The stronger he got, the more he could withstand it, but it would still be fatal.
He didn't have enough money to buy a health potion strong enough to heal him so he could only resort to this tactic.
Stop time, and search for the sniper in hiding.
This was the plan and the exact one he had told to Ria.
Although he couldn't pinpoint where the sounds of the gun being fired came from, he could faintly remember the direction.
It came from behind.
So if the bullets were coming from behind, how was it that they were being fired off of different spots of the map?
Gray didn't know.
'But knowing it doesn't matter... What matters is...'
Gray slowly turned his body around, his expression dark and his movement stiff, resembling creaking gears struggling to turn.
Once he had completed the turn, the edges of his lip curled up.
