The droplets of rain crashed against their faces as their hair swayed against the strong gusts of wind.

The horned ones were all making their ways up to the few remaining fleets above their heads.

Many fleets had fallen down as a result of the raid, their broken remnants could be seen on the street and roads beneath them as a result of this.

The others had escaped through the portals during the time he had been unconscious. This bugged him but there was nothing he could do.

Zombies rushed around the streets in chase of all the noise which was happening around them from the Horned one's movement.

Some were disorientated by the rain. The drops were scattering everywhere making them unable to create a distinction between which sound was which.

However many others were climbing up the buildings, Abnormals.

Abnormals had become much more frequent to encounter during the war. Gray was so focused on everything else happening around him that he hadn't even realised this.

The zombies were continuing to evolve.

They could solve the problem with the war but what would happen to this nation whilst he was away? There was no telling how long he was going to be away for.

"...It's none of my business..." He tried convincing himself as he leapt off the edge of one of the buildings. "I'm only doing all of this to keep my end of the deal with Ruby... I can help people, but I'm no hero."

[Pause Step]

He appeared behind a zombie who had both of it's arms and legs pierced into the concrete wall.

The zombie's reaction was inhuman, it leapt off the building at him within the split second after.

But still – The instant it leapt off, it's body was split vertically in half from the head down.

Blood gushed out towards Gray whilst he had his head turned to the remaining fleets above.

'Around half of them should be on the fleet by now.' The thought flashed through his mind.

The blood splattered against an invisible wall of paused air ahead of him before he looked from side to side.

There were a few horned ones fighting all around the buildings trying to keep the zombies from going up just like him.

They used their own methods with the aid of their abilities to keep a distance whilst attacking, this allowed them to avoid being bitten on top being quite effective.

"They should be fine without me. Once all of them are on the fleets the zombies wont be able to harm them." He muttered to himself.

"It should be about time I head back to get the others so we can go." He added.

Before doing so, he gave one final look at the city whilst he stood on his platform of paused air.

It was completely in ruins, there were no colourful lights filling up the roads or brightly lit buildings. Only dark clouds and smoke, followed by pile of corpses laying around everywhere.

It was nothing like what he saw before it all began. [A/N: Chapter 1]

To this sight, he clenched his fist tightly.

"One problem at a time..." He muttered to himself.

A large hiking bag made lighter with telekinesis rested on Violet's back as she walked around. Bags filled with gas masks, survival tools and all sorts of other products levitated around her.

"What's wrong with that girl...?"

"Can she really carry all of that on her own...?"

"Probably an ability but poor thing..."

She drew quite a bit of attention everywhere she walked past, leaving her quite a bit embarrassed, but she endured it.

After if it was all, it took to guarantee their safety, then for her it was a smile price to pay.

"Violet?"

Violet looked ahead, only to see Aurora waving at her from ahead. A smile could be seen on her face despite the large hiking bag on her back.

Seeing her blushing from the embarrassment as she waved at Violet made Violet snort.

"You too, huh?" She asked

Neither of them were used to all the attention.

Once they finally reached each other, they both giggled for a while.

"So, do we all have everything?"

Aurora nodded.

"All we're missing is-"

"Oh my, I'm late aren't I?" Lara asked as she dragged Lita and Kylo by the back of their collars.

"Please Lara! I was on the final level! AT least let me take the console! Please!"

"Mummy! Pwease...! Just one...! I'll be good for long!!!"

Violet and Aurora were shocked.

"And I thought we were drawing attention."

Many were watching them, failing to hold back their laughs. Lara didn't seem to care at all, she still smiled both brightly and innocently.

"Sorry I took so long. These two had left the restaurant and gone off on their own to a nearby arcade and got invested in quite a few of the games."

"N-No, it's fine..." Aurora replied as she looked at the tearful expression of the two and the large hiking bag on her back.

'So even she has this side to her... Mother's are truly strong...' She thought to herself.

"More importantly, is everything ready?" Violet asked.

Lita and Kylo dejectedly nodded. Upon closer inspected a bag could be seen strapped their stomach.

"Yeah, we've got everything ready, what about you two?" Lara asked.

"Mhm, I got some tools which might come in handy and also my things." Violet replied.

"Yep, everything here, including Gray's pouch. I'm not sure if they got anything inside." Aurora replied.

"That's good... So I'm guessing now we head back to the prison facility and leave from there?" Lara asked

Just as the others were about to nod in agreement, a familiar voice replied.

"We go to where Gray's waiting for us."

It came from the top of the short facility building beside them.

Turning to their source, a surprised look appeared on their faces.

It was Ria, Gray's sister.

She leapt off the top before perfectly beside them. She didn't seem to be carrying anything.

"Where have you been? Next time tell us next time before you disappear." Said Aurora

"That's right. Imagine how your brother would have reacted if he found." Said Violet.

She felt quite bad seeing as how she had worried everyone.

"S-Sorry... They took me in for questioning after I reported to them the names of my friends in my squad who had died. I felt that their parents deserved to know. I also asked them to relay a message to the refuge camp my foster parents were staying at."

After doing so, they chased after her in aims of questioning her since she worked for them but she ran away.

There was something that had been on her mind so she went to investigate it.

She had snuck around this underground base to see whether or not there was anything odd going on.

She couldn't shake away a bad feeling off her chest, since everyone was busy with their own problems, she took the time to do her own exploring.

What she found was completely unexpected, it sent chills going down her spine.

They were conducting experiments on Zombies. The gruesome kind.

She heard something about a vaccine, but had to leave before hearing anymore as one of them almost noticed her.

This was an important discovery which she knew she needed to tell them, but now wasn't the time.. Gray was waiting for them after all.

"What about your bags? Aren't you going to take anything?" Violet asked

[Spatial Manipulation: Storage.]

A distortion appeared in the space in between them, a hole of sorts which was weakly vacuuming in the air.

"It's all inside of here, just throw your bags inside too, I'm not sure how much space there is but there's a lot left." Said Ria with a smile.

They were dumbfounded.

"Ria... Want to swap abilities?" Violet asked.

After reaching the prison facility with the help of one of the cards and codes they had been given. They were surprised to find it was completely empty.

Only some officers could be seen tidying up the empty cuffs.

"Where are they all?" Lara asked.

"They're all mostly on the ship by now."

Once again, a familiar voice not belonging to neither of them replied.

It came from right beside them.

"I'm starting to see how you two are siblings." Said Violet with narrowed eyes.

There stood Gray, leaned against the wall with a tired look on his face.

"Where's all our stuff and what happened?" He asked as he looked at Kylo and Lita, their expressions were stiff and their eyes were swollen.

"Inside of my spatial storage." Ria replied.

He gave Ria a pat on the head before turning to the upward slope at the other end of the room.

"That's good. We should get going by now, Ruby's waiting on us, everything's ready." He said.

Upon hearing this, they nodded.

The rain was raging on, their figures could be seen on top of the fleets.

It wasn't that long of a way since the base was quite close to the city, but it did take quite a few minutes even with Violet's flight and Gray's pause platforms.

Fortunately they had made it, they were all inside of the ship's cabin around a strange runic table with a glowing yellow gem on it.

Ruby had her hand over the gem with her eyes shut. The runes on the table began to lit up as the golden light passed through them.

Duchess Charlotte who was standing by the cabin's staircase, kept her eyes on Ruby and watched whilst she waited for the signal.

"Now." Said Ruby.

Charlotte swung her hands down and at that instant it began. A loud horn wailed across the city, as one by one portals began appearing in front of the remaining fleets.

"Let's go!" Said Ruby.

Preview .

The ship began to tremble and shake heavily, pieces of the naval fleet were being torn off as they moved at high speeds through the portal dimension.

There was a problem with the portal.

The fleet was breaking down.

"EVERYONE HOLD ON!!!"
