In the gathering darkness, Ye Feng Yu kneeled in front of the ancestors’ tablet, wearing only a piece of inner garment.

The thin robe was badly torn and ripped.

Ye Qing Luo could tell it was the marks of the whip.

There was a momentary flare of anger in her face…

Her brother was kneeling on broken tiles!

The sharp fragments of the rough tiles pierced through the skin of the young man, causing blood to ooze out and flowed through the tiny cracks, staining the floor.

How dare those people use such cruel measures to deal with her brother!

“Get up!” She exclaimed in a cold tone as she stepped forward.

“Sister…” His pale face gave a grimace of pain as he bit his lip and shook his head uttering, “Father said that he would forgive you if I kneel here for a day and night.”

“Get up!” Ye Qing Luo repeated coldly, as she gave him a hard stare.

Ye Feng Yu opened his mouth, was about to explain himself..

“If you do not get up this very instant, I shall take it that I no longer have a brother like you!”

Her face was red with suppressed rage, almost ready to ignite anything upon contact.

“If I dare to do it, I do not expect any mercy. What’s more, he is in no position to talk to me about amnesty!”

Her eyes flashed with indignance and anger while reiterating again in a cold voice: “Stand up now if you still regard me as your sister!”

“Sis…..” Ye Feng Yu seemed to be at a loss for words…

He could tell that this matter had upset her completely.

Nonetheless…. What his elder sister did was contrary to the values of filial piety.

If this incident spread out, Ye Qing Luo would be the object of ridicule in the western continent,or maybe even the entire Nirvana Realm for a lifetime!

He might not have spent most of his time with his sister but he knew his sister’s temperament inside out.

If he doesn’t get up, his sister would leave without a doubt and no longer acknowledged him as her brother.

Overwhelmed with anxiety, he tried to move his body. Sharp stings harped into the shards causing more blood to flow.

His body could not stop trembling from the agonising pain.

“Let’s go, Zi Ling.”

Ye Qing Luo sneered as she turned to leave the hall.

Feeling unease, Zi Ling stole a couple of looks at the young master. She contemplated in pleading for him.

But Ye Qing Luo’s face was emotionless under the faint lighting. Clammed up, she could only follow behind hastily.

“Sister!”

Ye Feng Yu called out anxiously as he watched his sister walked out of his sight. He lifted his body in a struggle, trying to catch up.

However, the bloodily covered knees gave way before he could straighten himself. He let out a howl of pain as he stumbled back to the ground.

He paused and heaved heavily: “Sister, don’t go… don’t go…..”

Ye Qing Luo’s pace came to a halt.

But she did not head back.

Instead she stood by the entrance and merely gave him a cold look.

“Young Miss, Eighth Young Master’s legs…..” Zi Ling could sense that the young matriarch had softened up at the sight of her own brother. Instantly, she went forward to support him.

“Walk over on your own.”

Ye Qing Luo’s cold voice interrupted Zi Ling’s movement.

“But Miss….”

“Stride over here, step by step if you want to remain as my brother. For uprightness, be an honourable man and vow from now on this pair of knees shall not be on the grounds for any reasons or for anyone! Not even the heavens and earth shall change it!”

Her crisp voice echoed across the hall.

She had doted on her brother and merely wanted to guide him in the right direction.

Yet she knew it was pointless if he does not learn his lesson. She would never waste her time on him ever again.

“Kneeling is the practice of the weak.”

Ye Qing Luo folded her arms with a condescending attitude and remarked: “I do not need a weakling by my side.”
