Half a year passed by quickly and Su Hao grew a bit taller. His height went from a 3 year old’s size to a 3.5 year old’s size.

Su Hao reckoned this was unreasonable. In the past year, he had paid a lot of attention to his nutrition intake. He should have been taller and wider right?

“Where did all the meat I ate go?”

He even suspected that the “Best Nutritional Formula” recorded inside the marble space was a fake. But the words “expert recommended” couldn’t be wrong right?

Su Hao reeled in his thoughts and glanced at Wu Tianyun who sat beside him. Ever since Su Hao brought up training half a year ago, he had constantly been leaving early and coming back late doing who knows what. Every evening, he didn’t talk with Su Hao at all. He would hastily eat and go to sleep.

This evening, just as Wu Yuntian was about to leave, Su Hao hurriedly said: “Father, what about your test to train me? A half year has passed by. When are we going to start?”

Wu Yuntian paused and suddenly remembered that there had been a matter like that. Looking at his son, he slowly said: “That, huh. Then let’s start tomorrow. Tomorrow morning, wait for me in the valley.”

“Sure!” Su Hao nodded his head and his eyes brightened.

On the second day early in the morning, Su Hao came to the outpost’s valley which was specifically used for drying grains. His father was nowhere to be seen, but he did see a 4 or so year old girl leading two boys towards Su Hao. The little girl’s twin ponytails skipped up and down. She had a delicate look. Her eyes were bright and round. It was easy to tell she would be a beauty in the future. The two boys were at least 5 years old and were taller than her by a head. Born plump and sturdy, they looked like followers of the girl.

As soon as Su Hao saw these three brats, he felt a headache come on. Brats were always the most annoying.

The girl was called He Qingqing and was a daughter of Cha Mountain Outpost, specifically she was the daughter of the captain of He Jianyong, the captain of the warriors stationed at Cha Mountain Outpost. Captain He Jianyong was very authoritative in this neck of the woods. One could imagine how specially treated his daughter was. Everyone had to give her some face. The most important part though was that He Qingqing herself was cute and lovely and she spoke well. She was loved by everyone at the outpost and got praised to the heavens.

In front of adults, He Qingqing acted like an obedient daughter, but in front of the brats, she acted like a gangster big sister.

(TLN: Think aneki)

The two followers behind her were also sons of the Cha Mountain Outpost. The taller snotnose bugger was called Lu Hongtao. The fat one was called Li Cunzhi. The two were arguing about who knows what. They spent every day hovering around He Qingqing and listened to her every word like dogs. Perhaps they wanted to become childhood sweethearts with her?

As far as these two went, Su Hao figured that they would make zero progress after the next few years.

“Xiangwu, what are you doing? C’mon, let’s go fishing together!” He Qingqing walked over to Su Hao trying to act like a big kid.

Su Hao shook his head: “I won’t go. Watch your step, I won’t send you off!”

He Qingqing’s hands went to her hips and angrily said: “Wu Xiangwu, you dare to reject me? Do you think I won’t let snotnose Tao and little fatty beat you?”

Snotnose bugger Lu Hongtao and little fatty Li Cunzhi took a step forward, their eyes filled with eagerness for him to try and provoke them. Wu Xiangwu was a slippery kid and they hadn’t beaten him before. They looked forward to it.

The corner of Su Hao’s mouth twitched, but he fearlessly said: “Big sis Qingqing, it’s not that I’m rejecting you. It’s just that I never play with idiots. If you want me to play with you, you have to first prove that you’re not idiots.”

The three were infuriated by Su Hao’s words. Snotnosed Tao and little fatty were just about to step forward and beat up Su Hao, but they were stopped by He Qingqing. She scrunched up her cute little nose and retorted: “I’m not an idiot!”

The two little followers immediately followed up.

“We’re not idiots!” “Me neither!”

Su Hao nodded in agreement: “It’s obvious, but can you prove it? Have you thought of the answer to yesterday’s question?”

He Qingqing proudly said: “Of course. How could this kind of simple question challenge me?”

Su Hao had a disbelieving face: “Really? Then let me ask again, what is 5+7?”

He Qingqing replied: “12. It equals 12. I got it right didn’t I!” After she said that, she proudly folded her arms across her chest and waited for Su Hao to praise her.

Su Hao looked at her in surprised and tsked: “Oho oho, not bad young miss Qingqing.”

“That’s right! Since I’ve proved I’m not an idiot, let’s go. Come play with us!” He Qingqing hurriedly invited. She urgently wanted Su Hao to join her group and become her advising follower.

Su Hao shook his head again: “Although you answered, it’s already been so long, so it doesn’t count.”

He Qingqing’s eyes widened: “Why doesn’t it count? Then what should we do?”

“Same rules. I’ll ask another question. If you can answer it, that’ll prove you’re not idiots and I’ll play with you.”

He Qingqing hesitated before saying: “You can’t ask something too difficult.”

Su Hao nodded.

He Qingqing added a condition: “You can’t ask a math question.”

Su Hao still nodded.

He Qingqing wrinkled her nose and nervously said: “Then ask away!”

“Listen well. The questions I ask are all simple. You know the answers.” Seeing the three listening intently, Su Hao cleared his throat and said: “Question: what kind of person gets sick but can’t see the doctor?”

He Qingqing rolled her and immediately answered: “This is easy. I know this. It’s a bad guy! Doctor’s won’t cure bad guys.”

Unexpectedly, Su Hao shook his head: “Wrong, but you’re not too far from the right answer.”

“Wrong? Then what is it?”

“You guys have to think of it yourselves.”

He Qingqing turned to snotnose Tao and little fatty: “You guys answer.”

Little fatty rocked back and forth but couldn’t say a word. Snotnose Tao could only sniffle until the end.

“You two idiots.” He Qingqing angrily stomped and guessed a few more answers. All of them were rejected by Su Hao. She almost started to cry, and in the end, she gave Su Hao a vicious look.

“Wu Xiangwu, you wait for me. I’ll definitely think of it.” She left with these threatening words.

The two followers were startled: “Qingqing, aren’t we going fishing?”

He Qingqing responded: “We’re not going. Only idiots go fishing.”

Snotnose Tao didn’t know what to think and turned to little fatty: “Little fatty, are we still going to go fishing?”

Little fatty called snotnose Tao and then chased after He Qingqing and loudly shouted: “Qingqing, wait for me. I want to go with you.”

Snotnose Tao turned to glare at Su Hao and also ran after He Qingqing, yelling: “Me too! Me too!”

“Phew~ They’re finally gone!” To Su Hao, dealing with little brats was more difficult than dealing with a thesis. If his previous world’s younger brother Luo Chaoxin dared to bother him, he would use action. But now he had a skinny arms and legs and couldn’t fight them. If could use action, he definitely wouldn’t use words.

……

After a while, Wu Tianyun suddenly appeared by Su Hao’s side and curiously asked: “What kind of person can’t be seen by a doctor?”

Su Hao’s face filled with black lines. This was a children’s riddle. Why was an old man like you joining in for the fun?
