Max wasn't as strong as Rudra was….
Max wasn't as experienced and knowledgeable as Bavuma was…..
Max wasn't a tier8 monarch.
Max wasn't a celestial hunting machine that could dominate the entire controlled universe.
However, Max was special.
Not only was his journey to becoming a tier7 warrior full of challenges, but he also had a high natural comprehension and an unshakable resolve that took him as far as he came today.
Whether it was outsmarting the kingsman goons back in the university, or fighting 200 tier6 demons in the Dimensional War, Max had done it all and overcame all odds.
Yes, Bavuma was strong, but the probability for Max to win wasn't 0% either!
If he took the traditional approach of trying to suppress Bavuma through sheer strength, he was only going to end up dead with his soul absorbed by his opponent.
However, life had taught him that there were more than one method to defeat a stronger opponent and playing one against themselves was one such method.
Although Max did not have knowledge reserves as vast as Bavuma, he did possess 3 distinct experiences in life which shaped his plan to defeat Bavuma.
First - It was the moment when Rudra asked him to create the tier10 barrier around himself and Lucifer before the queen manifested completely.
It was Max's first attempt at casting that technique and seeing it's strength as he himself felt baffled at how strong the barrier created from that method really was.
He had received that technique from an ancient civilization ruins that ran under a planet that he controlled and while it seemed like nothing special at the time, it was actually the life's work of several chaos mages over the centuries that Max inherited by resolving their long-standing conflict.
The image of the queen herself not being able to destroy that barrier was something that was deeply etched in Max's memories as he had absolute faith in that technique not failing him.
Second- Was a recent memory when he was learning the method to master the Chaos element.
By casually trying to use Chaos manipulation on a rock, he received severe backlash for trying to alter something which had a high Karmic Value.
He had blacked out after that attempt and felt his very soul tremble because of it as he realised that ' Karma ' was not a force to trifle with.
If he could somehow manipulate Bavuma into manipulating something beyond his capabilities using Chaos Energy, he could make the God of Knowledge suffer severe Karmic Backlash, a phenomenon that could provide Max with the opportunity that he needed to defeat him.
Finally, it was the memory of him taunting and manipulating Roy Keane as a kid as he successfully fooled him and his goons in a fight where he had absolutely no chances of winning.
Max wasn't as expert of a planner as his brother, or as good of an actor as Sebastian, however, when he needed to play the act of a fool to convince his enemy of something he could do it quite well.
Infact, because his usual demeanour was that of a no-nonsense guy, when he suddenly flipped a switch and did a 180, his opponents often believed the gibberish coming out of his mouth as they thought it to be his serious underlying thoughts.
The only problem with this plan however was the fact that Bavuma could read his thoughts, which meant that if Max truly wanted for this to work he needed to fully embrace the role of the fool and speak what he truly meant, so that Bavuma bought his words.
Formulating the specifics, Max conveyed his final thoughts to Drax who acknowledged and praised the idea as he began preparing the barrier seal.
*********
( Meanwhile Rudra )
Rudra paid no attention to the wounded by his side.
Even Though Neatwit himself suffered from a broken spine, Rudra did not care for it as he stood guard over Max's body with an extremely worried expression on his face.
" Queen, what's the probability of Max winning this fight? " Rudra asked as the queen began drawing up the probability based on the information she had collected on Bavuma so far before giving a rough estimate.
" The chances of victory are 0.7%, the chances of reaching a stand-off are 12%, the chances of losing are 87.3% " The queen replied as Rudra squinted his eyes at the odds.
Yes the odds of victory were horrendous, however, there was a 1 in ten chance that Max ended this fight in a draw which gave Rudra a little peace of mind.
Odin on the other hand found the odds to be utterly ridiculous, just as how he had found the odds of all the monarch's fighting Rudra and still losing at 70+% ridiculous.
Bavuma was an old freak and Odin could not fathom how he could be fought to a stand-still?
However, he could also not understand the benefit in the queen lying to Rudra or Rudra and the queen teaming up to scam him.
Since there was no obvious motive to lie, Odin could not help but believe that what the queen was saying was the truth as it made him wonder if Max had some secret immortal technique that gave him the ability to fight his opponent to a standstill?
Odin wondered if the same celestial that was secretly supporting Max had given him some technique to swap consciousness when needed.
As if it were a celestial like the Primal God Of War who fought against Bavuma with a tier7 body, then Odin could accept the 12% odds of fighting to a standstill.
With nothing to do but bide his time, Odin continued pouring his divine essence into Max's body to supplement his reserves for as long as possible.
Although he had little hope of the young Rajput succeeding, he had decided to support him to the best of his abilities till the very bitter end.
