Chapter 100: Bet

Single Handsome Man and Perverted Brother were both top killers in Savage Tribe. However, that was in the ending phase of his past life. It was not hard to realize that they were still very far away from being the top killers based on their performances just now.

Li Yi did not continue camping by their corpses as his name was now red. He did not know when it will return back to normal if he kept on killing them.

All he wanted was to do was teach them a lesson.

Li Yi called out the Crimson Tiger King. As he was about to leave, he suddenly felt an ambush from behind.

“An Ambush!”

[-87]

The blinding knife swept by and Li Yi pulled out some 20 meters distance away by instantly activating the Fiery Boots’ special skill. As he was about to turn around, draw his bow and shoot out the arrow, a numbing sensation started to spread across his body from his back.

A female thief in a mask and black attire rushed towards him with daggers in both of her hands, placing the daggers at Li Yi’s neck.

The knife which stabbed Li Yi had taken from the back earlier was coated with paralysis poison, causing him to be immobile for five seconds.

The masked female thief did not continue attacking as she stopped at placing the daggers by his neck.

It was the Dark Empress, Ye Yingbing!

Li Yi instantly recognized the masked human thief as their eyes made contact.

Yi Yingbi put away her daggers and said to Li Yi, “I’m not here to kill you. I’m here because I want to discuss something with you.”

Li Yi laughed, “Are you trying to prove your strength by ambushing me?”

Yi Yingbing did not deny his claim.

Li Yi continued, “I don’t think I know you.”

Ye Yingbin nodded as she introduced herself. “I am Ye Yingbing of Platinum Hand. I’m here today because I want to make a bet with you.”

Li Yi was surprised. “A bet? What do you want to bet on?”

“A bet to see who would be the first one to obtain the first kill for the Death of a King Instance Dungeon.”

“What’s the stake?”

Ye Yingbing pondered for a moment. “You’ll have to join Platinum Hand if you lose.”

“Hahahaha…” Li Yi started laughing.

Platinum Hand had always been a mysterious group and there were countless people who wished to join them. It was fortunate as they had come towards him for an invitation instead of him reaching out to them.

“We’ve seen a lot of your combat videos. You’re very strong but it’s unfortunate that you do not have a reliable party. If you were to join us…”

Li Yi waved his hands and cut Ye Yingbing off before the latter was able to finish speaking. “A good party comes from hard work. It doesn’t mean I won’t have one in the future if I don’t have one now.”

“Furthermore, I currently have my own guild. Will I still be able to join yours?”

“You can.” Ye Yingbing nodded as she replied. “We members of Platinum Hand actually belong to numerous major guilds. We only gather together when the time calls for it.”

No wonder they were so secretive about it.

Li Yi smiled as he spoke, “Platinum Hand is very famous and I won’t be at any disadvantage if I were to join you guys. I don’t think we have the need to place any bet. I’ll just join you guys.”

“That won’t do.” Ye Yingbing shook her head as she spoke. “You must lead your party to battle the Death of a King Instance Dungeon to prove your worth. You’ll still be able to join Platinum Hand after our assessment regardless if you succeeded in clearing the Death of a King.”

“What if I were the first one to obtain the first kill in the Death of a King?”

Ye Yingbing pondered for a moment and spoke, “You can request anything that you wish. We will accept it as long as the request is not unreasonable such as requesting Platinum Hand to disband.”

Li Yi clapped his hands. “Alright. I’m willing to bet on this since I don’t lose anything regardless if I win or lose.”

“We, of Platinum Hand will begin our challenge in the Death of a King Instance Dungeon once you’ve started yours. Please remember to inform me when you will be challenging the Instance Dungeon.”

Ye Yingbing sent a friend request to Li Yi as the latter accepted it.

Then Li Yi said, “To make sure things are fair, you don’t have to wait for us. Feel free to challenge the Death of a King anytime.”

“That confident, huh?” Ye Yingbing twirled the daggers in her hands as she stared at Li Yi in the eyes. “If I were to continue attacking you earlier, who do you think will die?”

Li Yi responded with complete confidence. “If nothing goes wrong, you’ll die.”

Ye Yingbing then responded back. “We’ve already guessed that you have an equipment that could dispel any Abnormal Status. It’s just that we don’t know what that equipment is.”

Li Yi shrugged and did not respond to Ye Yingbing.

‘Guess all you want. You won’t be able to guess what it is even if you were to continue guessing for one year. Don’t expect me to tell you guys what it is.’

“Goodbye!”

Ye Yingbing stared at Li Yi as she waved her hands and disappeared.

Li Yi felt rather hopeless. “Are all Thief players affected by this side effect? Isn’t it fine to just use the Return Scroll instead of the Return City Stone? Why must they sneak around all the time?”

Kaboom. A strange sound appeared from the sky.

“Fatty, what level is Pretty Good Mood now?”

“21. This kid is leveling up at a good pace. He’s almost as good as me back in my days and is much faster than that One Big Bun.” Chen Yang’s impression towards Pretty Good Mood turned for the better because of his recent excellent performance.

“Tell him to look at the details of the Death of a King Instance Dungeon and the combat videos of other guilds. Research their battle strategies and inform me of the findings.”

Chen Yang’s spirit immediately fired up. “When are we going into Death of a King?”

Since the Molten Furnace had been cleared, the next hardest Instance Dungeon they had to face in the Pinnacle of the Fire was Death of a King which was also a 50-man Instance Dungeon.

The Death of a King Instance Dungeon’s final boss was no other than the Dwarf King Vladimir, whose body was being controlled by the Fire Devil Ivrit.

Li Yi would have formed a party and challenged the Death of a King even if he did not make a bet with Platinum Hand. The only difference was that he would not have challenged it so early.

He was not in a rush at all. In his past life, the players were stuck at the Molten Furnace for two months or so and was ultimately cleared by the Fire Star Guild. The Death of a King was even worse as the players were stuck in this Instance Dungeon for more than three months. It was only when the players’ average level was at Level 35 that the God Creator Guild had taken the first kill.

They would die a horrible death if they were to challenge it too early. It was necessary to make complete preparations before challenging the Dwarf King.

“We’re not challenging it now. I just want you to inform Pretty Good Mood to come up with a battle strategy. Sigh. Oh right, I’m guessing there is no guild that is able to win against the Dwarf King at the moment…”

“Just tell Pretty Good Mood about it first since he will be the commander for this Instance Dungeon.”

Chen Yang was bewildered. “Are you not commanding?”

“I’m a DPS…”

“F*ck!”

Li Yi ended the conversation.

Li Yi had no confidence in challenging the Death of a King at all. It was just as Ye Yingbing had said. He had the capabilities and what he sorely lacked was good cooperation from his party.

There were many bosses in King of Pantheon that could be solo-ed. As long as the player’s operational skill was good and knew how to fight against it, any player could do it. However, there were also a few bosses that could not be solo-ed no matter how high the player’s level was and the Dwarf King Vladimir was one of these bosses.

It was much harder than Llamasden. When the player’s average level had reached the 100s, it was still a tough feat to win against Vladimir alone.

“Guild Master, these are the Blood Crystal Grass and Hundred Color Flowers that you requested. I’m exhausted. These two herbs were extremely rare in the auction and I bought them by shouting at the major cities.”

One Gunman was so ecstatic that his face turned red as he passed at least 200 sets of Blood Crystal Grass and Hundred Color Flowers to Li Yi.

One Gunman’s favorite pastime was to do businesses and he had some brains to go about it as well. Unfortunately, he had always spent more than he earned. Although he had been buying and selling out of enjoyment since the server was opened, he was often angry as he had spent quite some money while doing so.

“I appreciate your hard work. I’ll give you an additional ten Silver Coins per set.”

Li Yi paid a higher price for each set and this left One Gunman on the brink of giving him a few generous kisses while hugging him.

“Continue buying them as many as you can. Worry about the number of stocks you can buy more than the money.”

“Don’t you worry Guild Master, I’ll definitely finish my quest.” One Gunman saluted Li Yi as he ran away while counting the money.

“F*ck that. He’s definitely going to be under the Huashan Guild if not for the Little Drunk Cat Guild.” Li Yi said without a doubt as he stared at One Gunman’s back.

“Ice, are you there? I’ve something to discuss with you. Meet me at the Guild’s Map.”

Li Yi sent a message to Fire Ice and the latter arrived at the Guild’s Map after a while.

The guild’s progress had sped up ever since Fire Ice became the guild manager. All guild buildings were currently Level 1 and Level 2 guild buildings were in the midst of construction…

“Let’s go fight a boss later. Oh yeah, we still lack a main tank.”

Li Yi pondered for a moment before calling out the Wutong sisters.

The Wutong sisters were on a holiday recently and they had a lot of time to spare. Hence, they were always called by Li Yi to join the Instance Dungeons.

The four of them gathered at the outskirts of Shattered Frost City as they rushed towards their destination, the Cursed Land.

They bypassed the Barren Land and the Cursing Sect’s base camp, the Cursed Land was located just up ahead.

The Cursed Land was different than the special map Wild Beast Plain as there was no level restriction to enter the region. Any player of any level was welcome to enter as long as they were not afraid of dying.

Due to Li Yi’s leadership to obtain the first kill in the Instance Dungeon, Fire Ice and the Wutong sisters’ Reputation had reached the minimum requirement and were able to start riding the little white horses. This in return, had caused them to be rather quick in their travels.

Li Yi did not mount the Crimson Tiger King in order to cooperate with them. He also rode the little white horse and traveled at the same pace as them.

“Is the Cursed Land exciting? Have you been there before, big brother? Tell me if it’s fun.”

“Tell me. Come on tell me…”

“The monsters there do not have high ATK but they possess great curse spells which are very annoying.”

“Curse spells? Let’s hear about this curse spells…”

The Wutong sisters kept asking questions one after the other and kept the questions going after obtaining a response. Li Yi was so fed up with their questioning that he decided to shut up and not answer them. No matter how pitifully the Wutong sisters looked at him, he refused to say a single word.

Fire Ice’s attitude was rather gentle and quiet and did not utter a single word along the journey. She would at most smile at him if he were to look at her and lowered her head.

“Did Hua Feiwu harass you lately?”

“No.”

“How many healing skills have you learned?”

“Four.”

“How much INT do you currently have?”

“190.”

“You’re graduating soon, right?”

“Yes.”

“I ran out of topics to talk about.”

“Yes…”

As they were chattering about, the four of them detoured the Barren Land and had successfully entered the Curse Land.

System Notification: [You have entered the Curse Land. Due to the influence of the Cursing Sect’s Blood Curse, HP is reduced by 20%.]

The people of the Cursing Sect had hidden their heads and faces under their red robes. They spread across the map and would occasionally give out a terrifyingly cunning laughter.

Then, Li Yi passed the Vile Tongue Stake to Qingshui Wutong.

“I’ll lend this sword to you temporarily. Remember to give it back to me once we’re done with this place.”

As Qingshui Wutong was ecstatically looking at the Vile Tongue Snake’s stats, her small little mouth curled up after she heard what Li Yi had said.

“Skinflint.”
