Looking at the bowl of warm water on the stone table, Ruan Qiuqiu’s eyes got teary. She put the big egg down on the stone table and picked up the wooden bowl with trembling hands. She took a sip. The water was no longer piping hot, but Ruan Qiuqiu still felt better after drinking it.
It seemed that the fiend energy hasn’t acted up again. Since Mr. Gray Wolf had the energy to help out, he had probably recovered a bit.
Ruan Qiuqiu looked at a certain wolf, who was quietly lying on the stone bed. Her eyes curved into crescents. “Thank you Mr. Gray Wolf Tianluo.”
She didn’t look away. She wanted to see if that wolf was awake, but this time, his tail didn’t flicker and his injured triangular ears remained lying flat. He probably wasn’t awake.
Ruan Qiuqiu imperceptibly sighed. She turned around, scooped out more hot water, and drank it. The warm water slid down her cold lips and into her shrivelled stomach. Ruan Qiuqiu trembled and finally felt alive again.
She wasn’t in a hurry. Sitting on the stone stool, she slowly continued drinking the warm water while she planned on what to do next.
If they were frugal, the food and firewood could last for several days. There was an urgent need for herbs, and they had to be on guard against fiends and demons that might come looking for trouble.
Winter had just begun. According to memory, winters in previous years lasted four to five months.
Ruan Qiuqiu suddenly felt as if she was under a lot of pressure. She really wanted to look for another tribe and take Mr. Gray Wolf with her to seek shelter there. In another tribe, they wouldn’t have to live at the edge of the forest, which meant they would be more secure.
However, the only tribe she was familiar with was the Wind Lion Tribe. She only vaguely knew there were two tribes near the Wind Lion Tribe: the Winter Bear Tribe and the Feathered Serpent Tribe. However, she didn’t know how to find either of those tribes, and they might not be willing to take them in.
In addition, Mr. Food Reserve’s reputation was a big problem and his body had so much fiend energy. He wouldn’t be able to walk that far, and it was unrealistic for her to hope that he would suddenly get better and they could leave here together.
Ruan Qiuqiu furrowed her brow as she became increasingly anxious.
According to the plot in the novel, there will be a huge beast tide attack in about three months. If Mr. Gray Wolf didn’t get better by then, they would be in danger.
The demons in the Fire Wolf Tribe definitely wouldn’t protect them. Moreover, the original owner was supposed to die in that beast tide attack in the novel. And, it was a miserable death where the fiend would dig out her heart, snap her neck, and then trample her corpse.
She shuddered and shook her head to get rid of that terrifying imagery.
No matter what, she had already left the Wind Lion Tribe. As long as she stayed away from the male lead and the female lead and carefully lived her life, she would probably be okay.
She wouldn’t jump into the beast tide to save that fickle lion demon or fawn over the male lead and female lead in order to survive. She just wanted to live an idyllic life with Mr. Gray Wolf. She would work to slowly improve their quality of life. For now, her goal for them was to have enough food to be full and have warm clothes to wear.
Ruan Qiuqiu thought her goals were a bit too humble and low. She scratched her cheeks and touched her wet hair. After hesitating for a moment, she still decided to go take a bath in the storage room.
Although in the eyes of others, Mr. Gray Wolf and her were partners that had already been intimate and Mr. Gray Wolf was blind, she still felt it would be too embarrassing to take a bath in the bedroom. Mr. Gray Wolf was asleep right now, but that didn’t mean he wouldn’t wake up later. Wouldn’t it be so embarrassing if he found out that she was taking a bath right in front of him?
After tidying up, Ruan Qiuqi saw the egg on the stone table and cheered up again.
Anyways, they would finally have a good meal tonight and she had gained a lot of information today. Life wasn’t as hopeless as it seemed a few days ago.
She looked at the egg on the table and then at Mr. Gray Wolf. The idea of using his tail to “incubate” the egg popped up again.
Ruan Qiuqiu had a wicked impulse. It was mostly because life was too bitter and she was too bored. By the time she returned to her senses, she was standing by the bed and had placed the egg next to Mr. Gray Wolf’s tail.
