Qin Ran would send an arrangement to Yan Xi every three months.
Sometimes, he would send the lyrics to her, other times, he would write them himself.
But because of Chen Shulan, Qin Ran hadn’t sent an arrangement for a long time.
She held her phone in her hand.
While replying to him, she walked over to Lu Zhaoying.
“It’s not far.” Lu Zhaoying put his hands on the steering wheel and looked in the direction of the rear seat from the rearview mirror. “It’s ten minutes away.”
He drove in the front while Qin Ran used her phone at the back.
Yan Xi might know she had matters to attend to and didn’t urge her.
Qin Ran scrolled down and saw the documents that Gu Xichi had sent her.
She had been interrupted by Cheng Mu and the others previously and didn’t have time to read it, so now, she clicked on it.
Gu Xichi had sent a list and a simple document that wasn’t very confidential.
Qin Ran really found her own name on the list.
She narrowed her eyes slightly.
Within ten minutes, the car stopped at a clubhouse.
It was downtown, but the clubhouse was extremely quiet and secluded.
Lu Zhaoying led her directly to the top floor.
**
On the top floor, there were only two rooms. Each room was opened and normal, and there was a variety of entertainment facilities. There was four service personnel standing outside the door of each room.
When Lu Zhaoying came in, they bent over slightly, smiling and not looking him in the eye.
There weren’t many people in the room.
There was a TV opposite, and the spacious table had dominoes as well as tools used for the game truth or dare.
Then there was a bunch of strange wires.
Cheng Juan was sitting on the sofa with his arm on the armrest gently. He was leaning back with his eyes half-closed and a cigarette between his lips. He took out his coat and casually placed it on the table, causing the neckline of his black shirt to slightly open.
1He seemed quite low in spirits.
Nobody dared to speak loudly around and only Jiang Dongye was playing with a few others.
Jiang Dongye turned at the sound of the staff. “You’re here?”
Then, he turned to the side and made space for Qin Ran and Lu Zhaoying.
The others also greeted “Young Master Lu” and then looked at Qin Ran involuntarily.
They secretly wondered if this was the sister that Lu Zhaoying had talked about.
Qin Ran stopped behind Lu Zhaoying.
She glanced in Cheng Juan’s direction and coughed twice but didn’t continue forward.
“You came with Young Master Lu?” A woman with wavy hair, red lips, and white, slender fingers took her cigarette and turned her head slightly to glance at Qin Ran before spitting out a smoke ring.
Qin Ran looked down and saved the documents that Gu Xichi had sent before replying in low spirits. “Yeah.”
The woman glanced her up and down, leaned over to extinguish the cigarette in the ashtray, and smiled unpredictably. “You’re still in school, right? Students nowadays are really…”
Lu Zhaoying sat down in the seat that Jiang Dongye had given up and saw that Qin Ran didn’t follow him. “Qin Ran.”
He called.
“Sit here.” He pointed to the seat next to Cheng Juan and motioned for her to sit next to him.
Then, he reached out and knocked on the table again, lifting his chin for the waiter to come over. “Give me a cup of hot milk.”
There were all kinds of weird requests here and the waiter didn’t dare to judge any of them, so he went to get a cup of hot milk immediately.
Qin Ran went to Lu Zhaoying.
The woman next to her who had been smoking turned pale and her hand trembled.
Cheng Mu sat on the sofa opposite Cheng Juan and beside Cheng Jin. He had already asked the waiter to serve a tea set.
He was studying how to make tea now.
When he heard Lu Zhaoying, he looked up expressionlessly and asked, “You’re not drinking tea?”
“No.” Lu Zhaoying leaned back and propped his legs up. “Our Old Master said last night that tea disturbs our quality of sleep.”
He thought for a moment and turned to look at Cheng Juan. “Isn’t that right, Master Juan?”
Cheng Juan had been sitting straight, and he now loosened a button with one hand casually and pushed a cigarette onto the ashtray with his other hand.
Hearing Lu Zhaoying’s words, he responded lazily.
Besides Cheng Jin’s stunned expression, even Jiang Dongye turned his head stiffly and looked at Cheng Juan, who was originally serious.
He still looked lazy and as if he hadn’t slept well. He looked noble and elegant, with defined features and not the least bit of sharpness to his expression, so that he didn’t resemble that of a refined degenerate.
“Cheng Mu, it was a big pity that you didn’t come to your goddess’ banquet yesterday.” Not far away, a blond man came casually with a pool cue and patted Cheng Mu, who was brewing tea. “Did you know a shocking event happened?”
Cheng Mu raised his head at the mention of Ouyang Wei and raised an eyebrow. “What?”
“It was news that was released yesterday, do you know who set this year’s questions?” The blond man smiled.
When he saw Qin Ran drinking milk tea casually on the side, his eyes widened.
The others didn’t notice this and were all attracted by what he just said.
Lu Zhaoying ignored him.
Jiang Dongye laughed. “Zhang Xiangge, don’t beat about the bush. Who was it? Can’t you see Master Juan is curious too?”
Zhang Xiangge was a classmate of Lu Zhaoying in university and was more sociable, so he had been in contact with Lu Zhaoying until now.
So much so that he had caught up with Cheng Juan’s circle through Lu Zhaoying.
Seeing that Cheng Juan was indeed looking at him, Zhang Xiangge felt nervous and lowered his voice. “I also heard from Miss Ouyang that the questions had been set by 129’s big boss.”
129’s big boss was the first generation.
Lu Zhaoying didn’t intend to talk to Zhang Xiangge, but he couldn’t help getting curious after hearing this.
“Which big boss? Morning Bird? Bad Dragon?” Lu Zhaoying had dealt with 129 deeply and knew the big bosses who were often more active.
Zhang Xiangge shook his head.
Lu Zhaoying frowned. “Could it be that Chang Ning personally set the questions?”
“Nope, you absolutely can’t guess it.” Zhang Xiangge shook his head mysteriously and then dropped the bomb. “It was Lone Wolf.”
1“What the f*ck!” Lu Zhaoying was obviously shocked.
The glass in his hand turned over on the table and the scarlet wine dripped down the table onto the carpet.
Jiang Dongye also raised an eyebrow even though he wasn’t very interested in the matter. “That number 1 who refuses to take my order?”
Jiang Dongye had also placed several orders.
They had all been to trace Gu Xichi and he had even placed triple the price, but 129 didn’t even look at the order, much less accept it.
1“Now it’s lively.” Cheng Mu couldn’t help but look up and put down his teacup. “Aren’t there many people going after Lone Wolf? No wonder my goddess didn’t come today, this year’s pressure must be greater than in previous years.”
Cheng Juan also leaned on the sofa and squinted slightly at Zhang Xiangge.
“I’m going out for a breather.” Qin Ran lowered her head. She had originally been listening seriously to them, but after hearing this, she couldn’t help but touch her nose.
Cheng Juan glanced at her. The clubhouse was safe and the waiters knew to keep their distance. Furthermore, the top floor wasn’t accessible to ordinary people and nobody dared to offend them at will.
“Okay, don’t go too far.” Cheng Juan’s hand knocked on the teacup and he said calmly, “Your grandma told me to look after you.”
Qin Ran left.
Cheng Juan glanced at the people in the room.
Lu Zhaoying also reacted. “You, you, you, and you.” He reached out and pointed to a few people. “Extinguish your cigarette right away, there’s a student present.”
Then, he told the staff to come in and open the vent.
As soon as Zhang Xiangge saw Qin Ran, he knew that the sister Lu Zhaoying had mentioned was her.
After seeing their movements, his thoughts grew deeper.
**
At the end of the corridor on the top floor.
A man in a suit and leather shoes blocked a woman with a camera behind her. The woman’s face was clear, but her eyes behind the lens were black and her voice was very cold. “Gu Zixiao, I already told you, I’m investigating 129 not because of your little mistress. Do you understand?”
“Then that’s the best.” The man stepped aside and looked at the woman indifferently.
The phone in his pocket rang and the man immediately picked up. His voice became gentler as he said, “Wei Wei… Okay, I’ll come right away.”
2He hung up the call.
“I agree with what you said last time. After one year, our agreement will end automatically.” He glanced at the woman and turned directly to press the elevator door.
The doors closed.
The woman turned the camera and then dialed Chang Ning’s number.
But she saw someone not far away and paused, then rubbed her eyes. “What the hell, this is crazy.”
She took the camera and walked forward.
“Little student.” He Chen approached her and saw that it was indeed her, so she hung up her phone call directly. “Why are you in Beijing?”
“I just got here.” Qin Ran didn’t expect to see He Chen here and paused. “You’re not at the border anymore?”
“I just came back for some small news.” He Chen pinched Qin Ran’s face. “Wow, it’s so tender. Come to think of it, you came to Beijing and didn’t call me nor Chang Ning, are you itchy for a beating?”
1“I’m here to deal with private matters, and I’m going back the day after tomorrow, so I didn’t want to disturb you.” Qin Ran let her pinch her face frivolously.
“You don’t plan to see the rest of them?” He Chen took off her glasses and smiled. “Nobody except me and Boss Chang knows that you’re a chick.”
Qin Ran put her phone back in her pocket. “Next time, maybe.”
The two of them exchanged a few more words.
Zhang Xiangge came out of the room with his phone.
He was specifically looking for Qin Ran and saw her talking to He Chen at a glance.
“Miss Qin.” Zhang Xiangge walked towards them and paused when he saw He Chen. “This is…”
He Chen turned and looked at Zhang Xiangge, then reached out and put on her glasses. “I’ll leave first.”
“Miss Qin’s friend is pretty cool.” Zhang Xiangge smiled. He saw a thread on the shoulder of He Chen’s clothes and asked casually, “What does she do?”
Qin Ran looked politely at Zhang Xiangge. “She’s a paparazzi.”
“…Oh.” Zhang Xiangge nodded and stopped talking about He Chen.
Then, he apologized deeply to Qin Ran about not going to Lu Zhaoying’s dinner yesterday.
1“It’s okay,” Qin Ran turned and replied coolly.
The two of them returned to the room.
Zhang Xiangge punished himself with three large glasses of red wine on the spot and apologized to Qin Ran and Lu Zhaoying on the spot.
“Does Miss Qin play billiards?” After drinking three glasses of wine, Zhang Xiangge took the initiative and handed the pool cue to Qin Ran.
Qin Ran looked down at her phone.
Cheng Juan put the club to the side and said casually, “She doesn’t.”
Zhang Xiangge retracted his hand in shock.
**
Since there was a high school student here, they left before twelve o’clock.
After Cheng Juan and the rest had left, Zhang Xiangge sighed in relief.
“Young master Jiang, who is that Miss Qin?” Zhang Xiangge asked. He ran through a list of people with the surname Qin in the capital and couldn’t find anyone who fit this person.
“She’s from Yun Cheng.” Jiang Dongye stood up calmly and patted his sleeves. “She’s an ordinary high school student protected by Master Juan, but don’t spread this outside.”
Zhang Xiangge nodded. “No wonder, but how does she know a paparazzi?”
“Paparazzi?” Jiang Dongye squinted.
1“When I went outside to look for her, I saw Miss Qin talking to a friend, then she told me she was a paparazzi.” Zhang Xiangge saw that Jiang Dongye was silent and called him, “Young master Jiang?”
“It’s nothing.” Jiang Dongye walked towards his car.
He thought of the word “showman”.
1Was she really just a “paparazzi”?
2Zhang Xiangge didn’t speak and just glanced in the direction of Cheng Juan and the others.
“Zhang Xiangge, is Miss Qin Young Master Lu’s sister?” someone asked cautiously. “Didn’t he say she was from Yun Cheng? Why is she with Master Juan…”
“Yeah, even Miss Ouyang…”
“Didn’t you hear what Young Master Jiang said? Do I need to tell you the consequences of speaking about this?” Zhang Xiangge interrupted and glared at them. “Perhaps it’s only for a while, but don’t mention this anywhere.”
Of course, he didn’t quite understand it himself, but Miss Qin indeed looked good.

The next day.
Qin Ran got up early and couldn’t sleep, so she took a pen and got a piece of blank paper from the staff to write a note to Yan Xi.
After a while, someone knocked on the door.
Lu Zhaoying and Cheng Juan knew she wasn’t leaving today and had come to play with her early in the morning.
“Wait a while, I’ll go wash my face.” Qin Ran opened the door, pressed the note under a book, and went to wash her face.
“Okay.” Cheng Juan sat by the window and pulled on his collar while flipping through her book casually.
Lu Zhaoying leaned on the table and watched as her phone lit up. He said loudly, “Qin Ran, a classmate named c just sent you a video!
