Chapter 121: The Talent Qin Ran Was Discovered

There was no Chemistry teacher among the observing teachers.

Of all the other exams, only the Chemistry exam was not retaken.

After hearing Qin Ran’s words, everyone looked at her without responding.

Even Li Airong forgot what she was thinking of when she received the English paper done by Qin Ran.

She understood the paper she set very well. Li Airong had always been quite ambitious in teaching English.

She had not finished next month’s exams paper, but she crafted each question based on previous questions and even had not finalized the answers yet.

She watched Qin Ran finish those 35 questions in less than 15 minutes.

At this time, she did not know what to say.

Qin Ran? How could she finish them so quickly? Didn’t she know what sort of student she was? Her file was in a mess and she never paid attention in class. How could she get all of the questions right?!

1In the entire staff room, Mr. Gao was the first to react. He coughed twice, but everyone else was still in a daze. “Director Ding, I’ll get a Chemistry teacher to come up with questions.”

Only then did the other teachers come back to reality.

They thought expressionlessly, weren’t the English, Math, and Biology papers enough proof?

Why was Chemistry still needed? Did they need another teacher to come over and question life?

Luckily, Director Ding also came back to his senses. He was silent for a while before opening his mouth. There was a sympathetic smile on his face. “Mr. Gao, you don’t have to call a Chemistry teacher. I believe that Qin Ran did not cheat.”

After a pause, Director Ding looked at the other teachers in the staff room and asked, “Do you have other opinions?”

The other teachers quickly shook their heads.

How could they have any opinions now?

They did not have to say much about this situation now. It was obvious whether Qin Ran had cheated or not.

The director turned over and gave Qin Ran and Gao Yang a fatherly look. “Both of you can go back first.”

**

Gao Yang went back to the staff room.

Since the uproar among the Math teachers after the scripts were marked, he knew that Qin Ran’s Math test paper would cause a Math teacher to be overwhelmed.

He stared at Qin Ran’s answer sheet. Qin Ran’s handwriting had improved a lot since she started school.

No wonder he did not recognize it when he was marking the test papers. Suddenly, a thought flashed past Gao Yang’s mind.

His hands trembled slightly and he had to take some time to calm himself down.

The afternoon self-study session had ended and many students were wandering outside.

Gao Yang tried to control his trembling hands.

He told a student to come in and asked for him to look for Qin Ran.

Qin Ran arrived very quickly.

Her head was slightly lowered as she pulled the zip of her school jacket.

“Mr. Gao, are you looking for me?” Qin Ran quickly changed her lazy appearance.

Gao Yang took a deep breath. Qin Ran could see that his hand was trembling slightly beside the teacup.

She was quite surprised and raised her head, the black hair on her forehead naturally sweeping past her eyebrows.

“Two months ago, Principal Xu entrusted you to our class.” Gao Yang paused and tried to make his voice sound less airy. “At the same time, he showed me the question paper from the Olympiad last year.”

Besides Gao Yang’s hand was Qin Ran’s Math answer sheet. He had already looked it over countless times yesterday when he was marking it.

Hou Delong always set difficult questions.

This time, for the last question in the exam, Hou Delong’s Olympiad-style of creating questions was followed. The small last question in the final part of the competition was always a killer question.

Besides Qin Ran, everyone was stumped by it. Even Xu Yaoguang was not spared.

However, Qin Ran managed to solve it.

Gao Yang could not help but think of the first time he met Qin Ran in the principal’s office. At that time, Principal Xu gave him the answers to last year’s Olympiad.

The answer sheet was the same as the one he had in his hands. The solutions to the problems were perfect, the steps were simple and concise, and no points were lost.

The only difference was that the words on the answer sheet given by Principal Xu were profoundly written. It was obvious that the person had practiced writing before.

It was entirely different from the answer sheet he had in his hands now.

Countless thoughts flashed in his mind. Finally, Gao Yang came to a conclusion. As his eyes fell on Qin Ran’s right hand that had been resting on the zipper of her school uniform, they lit up. “Qin Ran, you can write with both of your hands, right?”

Why would a left-hander pull her zipper with her right hand?

Qin Ran stopped pulling her zipper.

After hearing him, she paused before touching her wrist and smiling. “Yes.”

1Gao Yang’s fingers tightened around his teacup. He could not help but lean back against his chair.

After a long while, he finally calmed himself down. “You participated in the Olympiad before?”

This was not right.

Gao Yang had always paid attention to the Olympiad. According to the answers he had from the previous Olympiad, if she had participated in it, she would definitely be in the ranks.

Gao Yang recalled that in the past two years, he was convinced that there was no “Qin Ran.”

“Due to some things, I couldn’t make it.” Qin Ran realized something and said breezily, “Teacher, don’t tell others I’m not left-handed. I don’t plan on using my right hand.”

1“Why?”

Qin Ran looked down, her long eyelashes covering her eyes.

After some time, Gao Yang heard her rather hoarse voice. “That’s because my right hand has done something unforgivable.”

1**

The first class in the afternoon was Gao Yang’s Math class.

When Qin Ran returned back to class, the bell had already rung.

However, the class was not very calm.

After an afternoon, some results were already released.

Qiao Sheng rested his legs in the aisle, covered his mouth with his hand, and said, “Do you know that someone in our school has a perfect score in Math?”

“What? Who is so… crazy?” Qiao Sheng’s table mate whispered back.

Hearing this, Xu Yaoguang, who looked as Qin Yu gave out the test papers, paused.

2He turned his head to look at Qiao Sheng.

After thinking about it, Qiao Sheng asked, “Young Master Xu, is it you?”

Xu Yaoguang shook his head and said thoughtfully, “I only scored 141 marks.”

Qiao Sheng’s table mate choked when he heard the word “only.” After that, he said with conviction, “It must be Pan Mingyue, then. That girl is crazy too.”

As the group of students talked, Gao Yang appeared at the doorway. The class discussion instantly ended and everyone’s eyes were fixed on it.

Gao Yang was carrying two things in his hands. One was the multiple-choice answer sheets, and the other was the open-ended answer sheets.

He placed the two items on the table.

He then turned around and posted a large chart on the blackboard.

Everyone knew that it was the ranking table. However, as it was class time, they did not dare to leave their seats.

After posting it, Gao Yang told the Math class representative to distribute the papers.

“He Wen, 79 marks.”

“Zhang Li, 79 marks.”

Everyone was speechless.

The scores were ranked from low to high. Most of them were in the 70s to 80s range and the scores were very close.

“Xia Fei, 97 marks.”

“Lin Siran, 119 marks.”

1When this score was revealed, there was an uproar in the entire class. She was the first to exceed 100 marks.

With so many marks, everyone was quite surprised because Lin Siran’s grades never stood out before.

This included Xu Yaoguang as he turned to look in Lin Siran’s direction.

“Xu Yaoguang, 141 marks.”

“Young Master Xu is crazy.”

“At least the difference in marks is not that bad.”

“Pan Mingyue isn’t better?”

Xu Yaoguang went up to take his paper. This time, the Math representative did not throw it into his hands.

He paused in his footsteps and looked rather coldly at the Math representative.

According to the norm, after handing Xu Yaoguang his paper, the Math representative would have no other papers to hand out.

1There was still another paper underneath Xu Yaoguang’s, and he stared at the last paper in a daze.
