Chapter 148.

“Master!”

Despite Jung Si-woo wanting to be called by another name, Beto called him Master while running towards him. Jung Si-woo patted his head and realized the time had passed. Beto had grown about 3cm taller. After releasing the suspension on his body by God’s power, he found out that Beto now wholly regained his biorhythm.

[Here it is, Master.]

Beto finished working on the product, but Caina was the one that brought it. It’s because the completed product was hefty. Jung Si-woo took it from her. The product was about the same size as Beto but weighed more than several hundred kilograms.

“Beto’s abilities are surely amazing. I’d want to ask him for cooperation with the fairy merchants with regards to his creations.”

“Step aside.”

Jung Si-woo shook his hand at Luta’s unnecessary intervention as the owner of the secret shop. Then he confirmed the information of the product…the Gatling gun.

[Beto’s Rapid Firing Giant Mana Cannon]

[Rank – A++]

[Attack Power – 3,800 – 4,300]

[Experience – 0/2,000]

[Option – 1. Load 5 bullets in the cartridge when Mana Bullet-related skill is activated. 2. ???]

[A masterpiece crafted by the gifted young man through harmonizing the Mana Engineering and Modern Technology. If not for the unique space, it wouldn’t have been possible. Its quality surpasses everything. By realizing the ‘Cluster’ attribute onto the Magic Cannon through using a large number of unique mana stones, it can shoot deadly magic bullets endlessly.]

“This…”

Jung Si-woo was a bit surprised by the product that surpassed his expectation. He didn’t even imagine that Beto would capture the attribute of the mana stones he received that time and come up with a masterpiece.

“The main point of the first option is the cartridge.”

Beto started with his explanation by pointing at connected six-gun barrels with several overlapping magic circles scripted on top of it.

“Firstly, you have to insert the cartridge. It doesn’t matter where it will be put, but only one can be placed inside this cylinder.”

“But then, it would just fire bullets from one barrel, and that’s it, isn’t it?”

“The moment you insert mana into the cartridge and activate the Mana Bullet, five bullets will be duplicated into the other barrels.”

Jung Si-woo tried it out. And as expected, he saw the mana bullet being duplicated in every empty cylinder. One live ammo (+ mana bullet) and five mana bullets. That was how six bullets were formed as one. What was more surprising was that he wouldn’t spend extra mana in the process.

“And when you start to fire, the bullet is fired from the first barrel, and the barrels start to rotate, which will make the succeeding barrels fire their mana bullets. As it has the clustering characteristic, all mana bullets from the second to the sixth hit the same spot.”

In other words, reloading the first cartridge and firing the gun by inserting mana was possible without the mana bullet skill. But that wouldn’t activate the duplication ability of the mana bullet so that this magic cannon couldn’t be used to its fullest potential.

“And when the first barrel makes a full rotation, the second cartridge is immediately reloaded, and the duplication option gets activated as you use your mana bullet skill.”

Even more surprising was the fact that this weapon was an assisting device used in a rapidly firing mana bullet, so it would help the user in activating the mana bullet skill at the exact timing when the actual bullet was inserted when the user practiced with the weapon. That wasn’t even an option but a given functionality.

“And that is how this can lessen the consumption of the live bullets, mana, and spirit while making rapid-fire possible. I haven’t tested it out yet, but I guess it can fire up to 3000 rounds.”

“3000 rounds…”

It was still inferior to the Gatling gun in the front line, but it already was a miracle since it had the power of mana. Beto smiled bitterly while looking at Jung Si-woo, praising his creation.

“But the downside is…the live ammo is used once every six rounds. It’s composed of mana stone and metal, so it can’t be made without mana stones of at least level 50. At least, there aren’t any available ones yet. So there are only 100 live ammo rounds ready so far…”

It sure was an expensive weapon. Three thousand rounds per minute, assuming that Jung Si-woo could manage the overload of firing 500 Critical Bullets per minute, it was like consuming 500 mana stones! Mana stones couldn’t be acquired everywhere. It was a product obtainable only from strong elite monsters where mana was solidified within their bodies. Jung Si-woo was collecting mana stones by utilizing his entire army of spirits to hunt down monsters all over the earth, and yet, he only collected several tiny mana stones a day. Collecting them took an entire day, yet consuming them would only take a minute. It was so futile.

“If that’s the case…”

Jung Si-woo lifted his head with a firm determination.

“I have no choice but to completely settle things in Potupou and collect all the mana stones.”

“This guy is crazy.”

Soo-rin mumbled, but nobody listened to her. Jung Si-woo handed back the weapon of mass destruction to Beto and spoke after getting lost in thought.

“If there’s a way to amplify the Cluster attribute, can it lessen the consumption on the mana stone?”

“Hmm…I think it’s possible. If there’s a way to increase duplicated mana bullets, consumption of the live ammo can be decreased. But that would mean the number of barrels must be increased along with its weight…”

“Good, then please work on it.”

After talking, Jung Si-woo took out a giant crown. It was a holy relic of the legion god, which he stole from the teddy bear king after annihilating the town of Red Tibades!

“Woah, you have full control on this relic…as expected from my Master…!”

It only took a moment for Beto’s doubt to turn into a conviction.

“With this, duplicating mana bullet can be possible without increasing the barrels! Wait, I might even increase the caliber!”

“Great, I have no idea what you are saying, but please make it possible.”

“I see, so this is how this weapon goes beyond the area of modern weapon engineering.”

Soo-rin came to realize something new. But Jung Si-woo thought on something for a while before turning back to Beto.

“You can increase it to ten barrels.”

“Master…?”

“I might bring more mana stones.”

Jung Si-woo didn’t care if attaching ten barrels would make it bigger and heavier. All he needed was the capability of lifting and aiming it, and that was possible for him. The reason why the minigun was invented was that humans couldn’t carry Vulcan cannons.

“Then let’s go clean up Potupou.”

“Didn’t you say we still had enough time?”

“I believe a large-scale battle has just started. I can’t miss the chance of joining this interesting event.”

He was trying to fish in troubled waters. Moreover, he was carrying the mass-produced long sword instead of his favorite hammer. Jung Si-woo confidently replied to Caina’s question.

“We can’t expose ourselves, unlike the ocean battle. So we need to stay as low as possible.”

[…]

The members left alone Beto, who started on improving the Gatling gun and headed toward Potupou. Luta followed them until the exit of the residential area, consistently asking them to bring the survivors, but Jung Si-woo ignored her as usual. They came out through the exit at the door of the sanctuary in Potupou. An empty wasteland and the air was different from before. Jung Si-woo looked around, quickly finding the reason for the change. The traces of the gods’ power had overwhelmingly increased.

“This place is quite far from the human kingdoms, yet the air is suffocating.”

“Hyeong-nim, I can sense the air of battle from here. This…isn’t a battle among the humans.”

He was right. In the battle that decided on the Ruler of the World, the aftermath of forces from the legion god and the flame god uniting together to wipe out the forces of other gods had taken effect. The gods knew they wouldn’t back down even if defeat were the only outcome. The legion god, along with the flame god, became worried about the possibility of other gods’ interference in their battle, so they started by completely wiping out the others.

“Looking at how the legion god and the flame god don’t attack one another as if they made a pact, I guess an unspoken rule has been established…these bastards, I guess they take the world as their playground.”

“What will do you, Oppa?”

“Ignore them.”

Jung Si-woo had already scanned this world several months ago without getting spotted through utilizing his Phantom bike and hiding skill. The conclusion came down as he couldn’t confirm the relics of other gods. Since the predominance of legion god and flame god became concrete, it was better to take it as other gods couldn’t bring down the fragments of their powers onto the ground. However, each relic of the legion god and the flame god still existed in this world. But maybe, other races could have absorbed them.

“If we were to retrieve all these without burdening ourselves…okay, call me Anonymous Sniper A from now on.”

“Yet you are wielding a sword.”

He completely ignored the battles happening throughout Potupou and headed straight to the frontline where monsters in human form were fighting. To the battlefield filled with tremendous chaos where the true ruler of the world would be chosen by the disciples of god! Jung Si-woo decided to move separately from Yong Se-ha and Caina in the process.

“You guys pretend to be the disciples of flame god and legion god. Kill appropriately and retrieve whatever mana stones you find.”

[Then?]

“When I give the signal, attack the ones you think you should.”

[Meaning we should attack you. All right.]

Caina drew out her greatsword and vanished into the battlefield on the savannah without sparing any moment for Jung Si-woo to correct her. Jung Si-woo held down his stretched arm and spoke to Yong Se-ha.

“She’s joking, right?”

“I believe her resolution was firm. Then I will also do my best, Hyeong-nim.”

Players couldn’t draw out their full potentials without drawing out their wings, yet he couldn’t be spotted as a player, so he hid them. And despite that handicap, his fast growth the past few months made it possible for him to participate without his wings.

“You mean while fighting for the flame god, I should attack the proxy in the right timing…but Hyeong-nim, can I kill him?”

“Don’t try to complicate things and just go.”

His confidence seemed to have been recovered since he was uttering nonsense. He lightly tapped Yong Se-ha’s back and held his mass-produced longsword. Soo-rin quietly looked at him from the side, so Jung Si-woo asked her a question while acting a bit cool.

“Do I resemble Thor even just a little?”

“Just fight already.”

Jung Si-woo cast his hiding skill and entered the battlefield. Compared to the scale of battle, their presence was fragile, so nobody realized they were the card that would turn things upside down.
