Two-handed weapons were not the mainstream choice of weapons as the most important thing to note was an individual’s ability to coordinate both of their hands. Xie Xuanchen turned his left and right hands in a natural way and was firm with his movements. The mace was originally suitable for strong people, so if such a heavy mace were to come in contact with an enemy, they might bleed out on the spot. Mu Mingtang stood by and watched him for a while, slightly convinced that Xie Xuanchen’s former master was crushed by his apprentice after the man in front of her mastered the weapon.
The lethality was really scary.
Mu Mingtang was impressed and after Xie Xuanchen put away the weapon in his hand, she pointed at the spear. Swords and maces were melee weapons, but spears and poles were long-distance weapons, which meant that it was a completely different system. Mu Mingtang didn’t believe that Xie Xuanchen could really master everything.
Afterwards, Mu Mingtang realised that she was metaphorically slapped by his talents and it hurt her ego.
Xie Xuanchen demonstrated everything that was on the weapon rack. He was sweating a little because of the exercise, but his spirit was radiant at the moment and his eyes were amazingly bright, “Are you impressed now?”
Mu Mingtang had nothing to say. She originally thought that this depended on her own subjective judgement since she could very well say that it was bad. But when something was really done to the extreme, even someone who hadn’t the slightest idea about the skill couldn’t say that it wasn’t good.
It was rare for Xie Xuanchen to exercise to the point where his muscles were loosened. He was already in a good mood at the moment, but as he looked at Mu Mingtang’s eyes with a bright smile, he was full of energy, “Will the person who made the bet admit defeat?”
Mu Mingtang’s face slowly turned red, but she still forced herself to calm down and said, “Alright, I’m willing to admit defeat.”
Xie Xuanchen was in high spirits all day long, but when things came to an end, he discovered a…rather astonishing incident.
He had too much strength and though he wouldn’t usually feel it, he wasn’t able to control his strength whenever he became excited or had adrenaline pumping through his veins.
This problem had been with him for many years. When people get excited, they unconsciously increase their strength. After all, this was the body’s natural protection mechanism taking effect. However, even though the increase in strength would protect others, for some people, it wasn’t all that positive.
In the past, whenever he fought with anyone else, he often couldn’t restrain himself and his strikes became a little heavier, which usually resulted in his opponent ending up with bruises all over. However, since he didn’t draw any blood, both parties didn’t really care. They’d usually need to just apply some ointment on the bruise and keep a closer eye on it for a couple of days and they’ll be as good as new. On the contrary, going easy and not using your full abilities on your opponent was deemed insulting.
From an early age, the furniture and utensils destroyed by Xie Xuanchen, paired with the number of people who were injured from his strikes, were countless. If something was broken, he would replace it with a new one; if another party was injured, he would pay for the medicine or the treatment. Xie Xuanchen had always felt that it was not a big deal, because most of the times when he got excited was largely due to the fact that he was facing an opponent, so it really didn’t matter to him that his strength had increased.
