‘The Eye’ would be screened publicly at the Cannes Film Festival. Gu Ren and his agent set off to the scene while Ye Zhi stayed in the hotel.
Gu Ren wasn’t aware of it, but not long after he left, Ye Zhi got into a car as she was secretly going to see him.
Ye Zhi entered as a spectator and she only wore a simple T-shirt and jeans. She sat in the back and looked at the calm figure in front of her.
Gu Ren had his back turned to Ye Zhi, but she could imagine every outline of him.
The premiere of the movie began and everyone looked at the screen carefully.
Time passed quietly throughout the premiere. Because Gu Ren’s acting skills were so superb, Ye Zhi was completely immersed in the film.
Ye Zhi clearly knew that Gu Ren was once a blind man and how deeply he felt when he was casted in a movie as a blind protagonist.
Everyone present was deeply involved in the movie, let alone Ye Zhi. The fragile yet strong character in the movie appeared in front of them so vividly.
After the premiere, the audience was silent as many people were in tears. They were deeply moved by the vulnerable and strong man in the movie.
It must have taken an extraordinary amount of emotion and acting skills for Gu Ren to give such a real-like soul to a character.
After the silence, the audience erupted into thunderous applause. Many even gave a standing ovation with an undisguised wave of surprise in their eyes.
After a few seconds, more and more people stood up.
Soon, everyone in the audience stood up and applauded enthusiastically for the excellent movie and the extraordinary actor.
The applause did not stop for a long time and it could be heard very clearly, which lasted for a few minutes.
The applause was the highest praise and affirmation for Gu Ren and the crew.
Afterwards, the director and the cast took to the stage. With a smile on his face, the director talked a lot about the movie. The emcee asked Gu Ren questions, and thus, he answered many.
Up next was the audience questioning session. The emcee looked at the audience, “Who wants to ask questions?”
Ye Zhi glanced at Gu Ren, but he merely lowered his eyes and did not look down at the stage.
A thought flashed in Ye Zhi’s mind as she raised her hand. She took the microphone and spoke, her voice loud and clear, “I would like to ask Gu Ren a question.”
Gu Ren lowered his head originally, but when he heard this familiar voice, he suddenly raised his eyes and glanced over.
Gu Ren was slightly stunned when he saw Ye Zhi’s face under the stage. His lips twitched and he smiled silently.
Ye Zhi was dressed casually— she wore a black hat with its brim slightly lowered, covering part of her agile eyes, but it was unable to mask her unique temperament.
Ye Zhi met Gu Ren’s eyes and the corners of her lips twitched slightly. A hint of slyness also flashed in her eyes.
Gu Ren raised his eyebrows, Ye Zhi didn’t tell him that she would be coming to the movie premiere today.
Not only did she show up, she was even pretending to be part of the audience and asking him questions.
Gu Ren lowered his body slightly and there was a hint of interest in his black eyes.
Gu Ren looked at Ye Zhi for a moment, and after a while,he raised his hand. Holding the microphone in his slender hand, he slowly moved it to his lips.
His pinky finger rested lightly on the edge of the microphone as his movements were elegant and noble.
Gu Ren slowly opened his lips and deliberately slowed down his tone. His voice was low and deep, as if he was inadvertently whispering beside Ye Zhi’s ear.
Gu Ren still bore his cold expression, but his lower jaw was slightly lowered and his tone was inexplicably a bit smoother.
“What do you wish to ask?”
