There was one final aspect of this power system. It was the fact that the mutated beasts too had an advantage, similar to the humans—that were able to capture as many mutated beasts as their Stage dictates.

This advantage was their breath attack, which was just an unleash of a force. Or to be more precise, it was the burst element.

This burst element was like a shockwave without involving any flames. It was a pure generation of force. The first time the mongoose unleashed its breath attack, Krager only survived because his System had enough Mental Energy to avoid an instant death attack.

Similarly, when the scorpion unleashed the same, Neena had redirected the attack by turning it to face a nearby stalactite, which in turn ended up causing its death.

They were trump cards unleashed after condensing a lot of power in their bodies. Unless they recovered, the energy in their bodies was only enough to unleash one breath attack. It was two breath attacks for two-horned mutated beasts and increased in number for every increase in the horns.

The strangeness of this power system was the fact that there was no limit to the Stage a human could reach or the number of horns a mutated beast could possess.

But, the higher the Stage/number of horns, the harder it is to grow and reach a higher level. Still, that only meant the limit to growth would be reached when there weren't enough resources.

Otherwise, given enough resources, there was no theoretical limit to their growth.

"At higher stages, the mutated beasts would have more advantages.' Compass Carburettor sighed. After all, as the number of horns on them increases, so would the toughness of their bodies. And, they'll be able to unleash more breath attacks or use their base abilities more times.

In contrast, a human had to constantly dope on the pearls to generate enough energy for their attacks. And, if they were to run out or drop their reserve of pearls, they were doomed in a high-pitched battle for survival.

At the initial stages, a human was stronger than a similarly levelled mutated beast. But this advantage would continue to drop with the increase in levels.

'And that's where my plan comes into effect.' Compass Carburettor laughed, looking at the cobra, "Let's level you up first."

"Yaay! Thanks, Uncle Spirit!" The cobra hissed in response, relaying its thoughts through telepathy.

Usually, any member of Secret Society instinctively referred to him as Lord Spirit. But, this cobra was different. It behaved like they were closer.

'Maybe it's because of my history with that cobra tribe.' Nodding in response, he extended his hand, watching the cobra climb up before coiling around his neck.

He picked up his bag from the cave entrance, taking out a pair of spare clothes from it before wearing them. He watched his remaining Haggon arm—the one he used as a brush while dipping in the scorpion poison—beginning to be swarmed by insects.

As time passed, also thanks to the spilt liquid used in the process of Gu, the surrounding insects were beginning to adapt to the toxin within it. Even though hundreds had died from trying it, another batch of insects devoured this batch of insects.

And when they died, another batch devoured them. After enough rounds, one batch survived, developing immunity to the weak poison concentration. This way, they moved up the batches, devouring them all before finally latching onto the Haggon arm, no longer affected by the poison within.

Hundreds of thousands of insects died every minute in this process. But an hour later, whether it was the Haggon arm or the pieces of the scorpion's flesh scattered around, all of them had been devoured.

Shaking his head, Compass Carburettor arrived before the corpse of the one-horned mongoose, motioning for the cobra to devour it.

After a moment of hesitation, the cobra swallowed a large body part that he had cut using his Armament.

"Are you sure you're a cobra and not a python?" Compass Carburettor laughed upon seeing that the cobra had managed to gobble up the entirety of the mongoose's body in the end, turning into a bloated entity that lay on the ground, immobile.

"I'm better than that lazy thing!" The cobra shouted through telepathy. Though in reality, it was like a salted fish, staring blankly, not even able to budge an inch.

"Haha!" Compass Carburettor emptied the contents of his bag and stuffed the cobra within. Other than his Armaments, the rest weren't useful anyway.

He then closed his eyes, muttering, "Rhizen and Krager have already reached the foot of the mountain. And…are they fighting currently?"

He was surprised for a moment.

After he determined that Neena was about to be killed, he slipped his Spydragon into Rhizen's bag, allowing him to track the location of the other party. Upon hearing the sounds relayed from both the Spydragons, he began to laugh, noticing that they were actually fighting.

'It'll be great if this can weaken Krager to the limit.' That was all he hoped for. As for the Coincidental Luck System making a loss, that was of no concern to him.

His only task was to kill the Systems that targeted Rhizen and ensure he doesn't die. That didn't mean he had to babysit Rhizen.

Moreover, even if the Coincidental Luck System was weakened, it was of no concern to him. It was just a business transaction where their selfish interests coincided. That's all.

So, he planned to make Rhizen face the brunt of the attacks or rather, throw the enemy Systems at him. And when they had been weakened significantly, he would corner them further and kill them.

'But, since I can't spread Secret Society carelessly here, I'll have to be cautious with every step of my plan. After all, there are too many variables.' He sighed, beginning to descend Mount Craire.

Along the way, upon smelling the thick stench of blood, he frowned, "Is there not even a single survivor here?"

Even until the end, he hadn't seen a single living human, only spotting their bones that had been licked empty of all flesh, blood and organs. Along the way, he of course encountered the mongooses.

But, using the boots, his figure constantly flashed until he was out of their sight, startling them. They didn't chase after him since none of them had finished growing a horn yet.. Had they grown a horn, then they would have been able to give chase or at least have the confidence in doing so.
