Compass Carburettor looked at his stats, smirking. Of course, he obtained Directional Misalignment as a Skill. It was way too useful to pass it up as just a System Fragment. System Hosts couldn't be killed with direct hits that easily, since as long as they possess Mental Energy, they would survive guaranteed death scenarios.
So, the abilities he should prioritise upon were strategic abilities that were versatile in nature. And among them, he had countless methods in which Directional Misalignment could come into play.
Any sentient being that moved could be affected using this ability. So, having it as a Skill was more beneficial.
Of course, for any System Fragments that were along the lines of reinforcement, he wished to use them as System Fragments and activate them upon himself. That way, he could be strengthened.
There were some Systems among the batch that had arrived at the world. And, he was planning to capture them. That way, he'll be able to strengthen himself further even without having to use up his remaining three Arms.
As for the ability he gained just now, it wasn't reflected on his status. After all, it wasn't permanently his ability yet. It would be erased once he returned to the System World. Of course, there was one method that he could use to gain the ability of this world permanently.
System Fragment—Permanence!
The moment he activated it and used it upon himself, the power he gained in this world would permanently become his.
But, he didn't wish to do that. The power system of this world, though remarkable, wasn't what he desired.
Permanence, as the name indicated, would allow him to maintain a state of matter/energy permanently. Suppose he used it on a candle that had been lit, the flame would continue to span for eternity without dying off, despite the condition of nature, in states lacking oxygen, or even underwater.
Moreover, the candle wax too wouldn't be used up. It would maintain itself for eternity. It was a cheat-like ability even among Systems.
But, here lies one risk. If he took it as a Skill, he'll be able to use it on items, such as the candle and cause it to maintain itself for eternity.
But, the range of the effect would be severely limited. Suppose the Skill was at level 1, then all he would be able to give the trait of permanence was a candle. Nothing beyond that.
Only as the Skill Level increases would he be able to affect larger and more substances with 'weight' in that respective world. And, the 'weight' here determines how important such a substance was in comparison to the world's laws.
Suppose he had an ability that can cause a person to suffer from fire. By using this Skill, he can make that person suffer from the fire for eternity, or until he dies. The fire would be permanent, which would continue burning even after he was vaporised.
Similarly, if he caused a bullet wound to someone while also using the Skill of Permanence. Then, the target would never be able to heal from the injury, constantly suffering from the same pain that he/she experienced the moment the bullet pierced their body.
No person would be able to remain sane after that.
Normally, had he obtained Permanence from a Hatchling System, he would have definitely turned it into a Skill. That way, he could directly fight System Hosts. As long as he injures them even once, the System Host would be in a constant state of pain that would cause them to go mad.
And, if their pain sensors were cut off permanently by the System, then it would also affect their other emotions, causing the Mental Energy they processed to drastically fall. The System would easily go bankrupt if it didn't wish to return to the System World.
It would allow him to easily deal with Hatchling Systems.
But, he didn't wish to do that. After all, the current limit of this ability, if used as a Skill was Level 10. It won't be effective against higher levelled Systems. And besides, he had no idea if he could become a True System Slayer yet.
So, until that happened, he planned to just save up the ability and decide accordingly based on the situation.
The second reason was the potency of Permanence. It was the Core Skill of a System at level 99. That was the limit a Grade 1 System could reach.
And, with the power being Permanence, here arrived an interesting possibility.
He could obtain the powers of another world. Once he remained in that world long enough and used Permanence upon himself, the power he obtained from that world would permanently become his.
And, he had a target for the power he wished to obtain to be affected by Permanence.
Cultivation!
As long as he reached a cultivation world, he could cultivate and reach a strong enough Realm, eventually using Permanence to make him retain said cultivation base. That way, he'll become tremendously powerful.
Because cultivation was an act of journeying from a mortal to a God, Compass Carburettor was aware of the power he could possess at the end of that. That way, just by relying upon his cultivation, he could go against stronger Systems without trouble.
This was his actual plan.
If what the Coincidental Luck System said was the truth, then even if he became a True System Slayer, reaching level 49 was his limit. The moment he reached level 50, a Grade 2 System would target him and won't leave him alone until he died.
He knew of a way around that, though he didn't know of the likelihood of that plan succeeding, at least until he met with some strong System Slayers.
'Still, cultivation is by far the best plan to go about to possess enough strength to protect myself and Stencil after I rescue her. I'm bound to make enough enemies along the journey anyway..' Sighing, he clenched his fists.
