EP.7 Class Assignment Test (Final)

The test went on smoothly.

Yuri, who was still waiting for the test, was naturally called with the last group.

“You’re going to win first place, right?”

Looking at the other nine, Yuri’s first place was predicted, but I was already in first place, so I’m proud for no reason.

“Of course.”

Yuri responded to my joke and went forward to prepare her uniform and take the test.

‘I can’t do this. But this is fun.’

The conversation with her, which was much more lively than the conversation I had with Yuri in the game, was very enjoyable.

The test began when Yuri disappeared into the illusion magic.

Yuri’s power of the fire magic, which was sticking out, was really great.

Without mercy, the cadets’ bodies burst into flames, and they disappeared one by one.

The images of cadets turning into ash powder were combined with fire magic, making it even more cruel.

Looking at the screen covered with bright red flames, I suddenly thought of something.

‘…I shouldn’t have teased her, right?’

She was being too nice to me, so I was oblivious to it.

Yuri on the screen soon burnt down the last opponent in front of her and made a fierce smile.

It went without saying that the figure was definitely ‘Yuri Clementine’.

Her familiar but also unfamiliar image.

The attitude she’s shown me so far has been so different that I keep forgetting it.

That she has a brutally strong anger.

The test quickly ended with predictable results.

Yuri, who easily won first place, approached me at once and spoke bluntly with a coy face.

“First place. I did it.”

“Haha… So that’s why I heard the sound of fireworks all the way here.”

I replied, scratching my cheek.

“So we’re probably in the same class?”

“…Well, I didn’t win first place for that, but I’m sure we’re in the same class.”

Even though it was after the flame magic was emitted coolly as if relieving stress, Yuri’s mind seemed to have not been relieved yet, she looked sideways at me for no reason.

‘…Once Yuri got sulky, it lasted for a long time.’

She looked happy as I handed over her favorite strawberry milk.

It was fortunate that there were many things that I remembered about what the characters liked and what they hated, especially food, because there was a system of likability of the characters.

“The class assignment test for everyone has ended.”

The instructor who was in charge of hosting today was wrapping up the test in a loud voice.

“The results of the assignment will be announced on the bulletin board inside the academy in a day, so please return to the dormitory. Everyone, thank you for your efforts. Once again, congratulations on your admission to Innocence Academy.”

Finally, the assignment test, which was neither too long nor too short, was over.

The cadets were leaving the test site, each talking with their friends about the results.

In the middle, there was a group of people pointing to me while gossiping.

‘I guess I’m in the spotlight.’

I didn’t mean it, but it’s not bad in the long run. Being famous has always been a boon, unless I get famous for bad things.

Above all, I could have made my name known to the main characters.

Good start.

***

I can see Yuri waiting for me on the bench under the warm sunshine.

“Sorry for making you wait.”

I approached Yuri and gave her strawberry milk.

“I’ve been waiting to see what you’re going to do. Is this milk?”

Yuri’s red eyes grow round in curiosity.

“I tried it on the way last time and it tasted pretty good.”

I’m sure Yuri hasn’t tried it yet as she just arrived at the academy.

Later, she will become a regular customer of this store, so I was introducing her in advance to get her favor from my side.

‘I hope this will make her stop sulking.’

“…Wow.”

Yuri, who took a sip of strawberry milk, exclaimed, but cleared her throat for a moment and asked me with a rather serious face.

“Ehem. Where do they sell this? You’re not going to say that you don’t know, right?”

“There’s a store near the main building of the academy…”

I was sitting next to Yuri and trying to continue the explanation about the store.

Someone who came out of nowhere suddenly talked to us.

He was pointing at me, to be exact.

“Zetto. The instructors are looking for you.”

It was the instructor who was in charge of the test earlier.

The instructors are looking for me?

“If you don’t mind, could you follow me for a moment?”

It was an unexpected call from the instructors.

When I stood up and looked at the instructor and Yuri alternately, Yuri nodded as if she was okay.

“…All right.”

The instructor heard my answer then went ahead to lead the way, so I followed him.

Why are the instructors looking for me?

Somehow, things that I haven’t experienced in the game keep happening.

The instructor stopped walking at the test supervisory office located on the second floor of the test site.

The test was over, but I didn’t know why they were still here.

ㅡKnock knock.

“I brought Zetto here.”

“Come on in.”

The door opened after permission was given.

As soon as I followed the instructor into the room, I felt an unknown pressure.

‘Why is the atmosphere so scary?’

There were many people who had a high position among instructors.

Among them, there was one person who wasn’t an instructor, but that person must have originally been set to only watch the assignment test.

As much as they were the instructors of this jockey, they are also involved in the game.

But none of them opened their mouths and were still observing me.

“…You said you were looking for me.”

So I spoke up first.

No matter how much I looked back on my behavior, I didn’t commit any crime.

“Zetto cadet’s test, we had fun watching it. It was very impressive. The reason why we invited you is none other than…”

Kaliman rhymed.

“How did you do that?”

Raina cut off Kaliman and popped in.

Kaliman glared at Raina, but she didn’t care as if she was used to it.

“…What do you mean?”

I know what they’re talking about.

But I have no choice but to pretend.

It was unclear whether that would work for them.

It was then.

As Raina tried to speak again, the man in the corner of the room moved.

“Chain.”

He threw a spell at me.

A chain crawled out of the magic circle on his palm toward me and came rushing in.

But the red circle in the middle of the chain.

The ‘weak point’ was so obvious.

ㅡChing!

My instinctively moved sword touched the weak point, and the flying chain quickly disappeared with a sound.

“…What are you doing?”

“Edward!”

Raina got angry at Edward right away.

Edward, who casted a spell at me, still had no expression on his face.

“I was talking to him…!!”

“Chain.”

Edward cut off Raina’s words once again.

It was the same ‘chain’ as before.

The same type of chain came to me as if it were a deja vu

But it was subtly different.

‘Weak point… is not visible…?’

I tried to find the weak point to break the magic, but the red circle, which was so clear earlier, was too small and dim.

I tried my best to look for his weak point, but…

ㅡClash!

ㅡCrack!

In the end, I had no choice but to deflect the chain.

The chain that was deflected from my sword was smashed into the wall behind me.

That guy, Edward Klaus, was still a tough guy in the game and in the real world.

“This fits my hypothesis.”

Edward said so calmly.

“…Don’t do anything unexpected. Edward Klaus.”

An old instructor who appeared under the name of a veteran instructor in the game warned Edward.

“Ha. Edward, you just did it on purpose.”

“Of course.”

Raina and Edward exchanged words.

I can’t keep up with their conversation.

Hypothesis?

Did he test me?

Raina explained as I freezed to the brim with questions.

“Just now, Edward’s first ‘chain’ was deliberately made of a very loose structure. The second chain, on the other hand, was very tightly knit.”

“I guess you really can see it”

“The magic structure.”

“…”

As I wasn’t answering to Raina’s summary, questions from other instructors followed.

“How can you see it? No… How can you feel that?”

“It’s the ability to call it ‘Sense’.”

The Q & A section started unexpectedly.

As quickly as I could, I hurried and made up the setting for ‘Zetto’, which is myself.

“Who did you learn that ‘Sense’ from?”

“From my teacher.”

“Who’s that teacher?”

“It’s… I can’t tell you.”

“Hmm.”

I answered as much as I could, creating a teacher who didn’t even exist.

I thought I didn’t have to tell them everything.

Don’t people all live with secrets that they want to hide?

The instructors didn’t question me further.

By the way, I wonder who will be the instructor in charge of class A that I will enter.

There are a total of three instructors in charge of class A who experienced it in the game.

There’s a sharp-looking woman with brown hair.

Raina.

A man with a rough beard who is not tidied up right next to him

Kaliman.

Generally, one of these two becomes the instructor in charge of class A.

However, among the instructors, a man with thin eyes who can be seen as a hidden character.

Edward.

“It’s a small reward, but… You didn’t seem used to dealing with your mana. Take this.”

The veteran instructor gave me a bracelet.

“This is…”

“Wearing that bracelet will help you train mana even just a little bit. I look forward to your growth.”

“I’m lending it to you, so if you break it, you’ll die…”

Raina threatened me with a fierce stare.

The name of the bracelet was ‘Bracelet with origins’.

…It was an item of the Epic grade.

‘This is really just a loan.’

It wasn’t small at all for a small thing.

It seemed to be the bracelet that Raina was wearing herself.

“It’s good to go back now. Sorry for taking your break away.”

Finally, I’m free.

I was about to leave the room after bowing politely to the instructors.

“Zetto. See you soon.”

Looking back at his voice, Edward was waving brightly.

No way…

‘…It’s not, right?

It’s an absolute specification that the evening seat becomes an instructor.

Now that the game has become a reality, it’s something that shouldn’t have happened.
