“Western Garrison Liege Lord!”

Jiang Yi’s eye glimmered. That man was like a god in a legend—an unparalleled existence. Jiang Yi had worshiped him from a young age and thought that he was a real man, a great hero. Of course, the Liege Lord was the worshiped idol of countless young men of the Divine Martial Kingdom; he was also the dream lover of countless young ladies. There were so many legends of him in the world that had involved him.

“Son of the Western Garrison Liege Lord?”

Jiang Yi’s brows quickly frowned. Why would the son of the Western Garrison Liege Lord make Jiang Yi have this feeling of natural resentment and disgust? The feeling was indescribable and extremely ridiculous! This was the first time he saw Jiang Yiliu. He was refined and had an extraordinary bearing; he certainly didn’t look like someone who disgusts others.

He pondered for a moment before opening the curtains again to look at the distant Jiang Yiliu.

“Greetings, Mentor Fu and Mentor Liu!”

Jiang Yiliu had already touched down on the ground and stood firmly in front of the inn. He nodded towards Elder Fu and the other young mentor before smiling at Mentor Su. “The three of you had a tough journey. Come, let me bring you for some scrumptious meal to refresh yourselves.”

“Your Highness is much too polite!”

Elder Fu stroked his white bread and nodded. He was satisfied with Jiang Yiliu’s modest and humble manners. He, who had the status the Liege Lord’s heir and also a Prodigy Cadet, could just simply ignore these two ordinary mentors. Of course, they knew that they were under the same limelight that was meant for Mentor Su. Jiang Yiliu had other things in his heart instead of them.

This heir is so aggressive!

Jiang Yi took just a few glances to understand what was going on. Jiang Yiliu was just a cadet of the college; even though he was the son of the Western Garrison Liege Lord, he actually dared to publicly pursue a female mentor?

Jiang Yi had to admit that this Mentor Su had the beauty that could bring down kingdoms and cities, especially her icy aura that repelled everyone to a thousand miles away. It incited the desire to conquer from any man. But she was still a mentor; how could a cadet go after a mentor? And to do it this publicly?

“Your Highness is much too polite!”

Mentor Su didn’t have any change in expression and said the same words as Elder Fu. But her meaning was entirely different; she turned and walked into the inn, leaving a statement: “I am rather tired. I shall go take a rest; please go ahead for your meal.”

Elder Fu and the other mentor were in a rather awkward situation, but Jiang Yiliu was still smiling pleasantly and nodded “Sure. Ruoxue, please rest well. Come this way, mentors; I shall bring you for a good meal.”

“This heir has such shrewdness!”

Jiang Yi looked closely at Jiang Yiliu; he let out a sigh when he noticed that Jiang Yiliu’s face didn’t have a hint of dissatisfaction. Mentor Su didn’t even show any appreciation in front of everyone, but he wasn’t angry for even a tiny bit? If he didn’t have an innately good temperament, then his shrewdness was truly chilling to the heart.

Hahaha!

As his carriage passed by the entrance of the inn, Jiang Yi saw Mentor Su heading up to the second floor. His heart had this indescribable delight. It seemingly satisfied him when he saw Jiang Yiliu endured this treatment.

Eh? What is going on? Why am I having such thought when I don’t even know Jiang Yiliu? Why am I instinctively trying to criticize him? No, I cannot behave like this. He is a royal highness; if I am to offend him, there will be serious consequences!

Jiang Yi got a sudden shiver in his heart as he quickly closed the curtains and stopped watching. He turned around to look at the sleeping Jiang Xiaonu, reminding himself to stay distant from this royal highness and that he was there to save her.

“Creak—”

One hour later, the carriage was steered into a spacious courtyard in the northern side of the city. Jiang Yunhai had a smile on his face as he stood up and said to Jiang Yi, “Bring Xiaonu off the carriage. We are home.”

“En!”

Jiang Yi got excited. He carried Jiang Xiaonu and followed Jiang Yunhai off the carriage. He saw a line of individuals standing on the side straight away. When they saw the two of them getting off the carriage, they immediately went on their knees. “Welcome Master and Young Master!”

“Huh…”

This was the first time Jiang Yi received such a passionate welcome while Jiang Yunhai was rather used to it and waved his hand. He looked at a veteran who wore a manager’s robe. “Old He, find someone to bring the young miss to her room. Bring the young master to the bathroom and give him a change of clothes. Prepare for lunch.”

Jiang Yunhai could see that Jiang Yi was in a confused state of mind; he laughed. “Young Lord, I asked the Martial Arts Hall to buy this manor earlier. This will be our home from now on. We are not returning to Skyplume City ever.”

“En!”

Jiang Yi smirked and handed over Jiang Xiaonu to an old servant maid; he was then guided by Old He to the backyard. Jiang Yi observed his surroundings as he walked; he realized that this manor was huge and beautiful. It had pavilions over the water, rock gardens with trees, and red flowers—there was even a small pond in the middle of the yard. He couldn’t imagine how much purple gold Jiang Yunhai spent to buy this manor.

“Young Master, this is the loft you will be staying in. I shall ask a servant girl to come over later. Please have a bath first!”

Old He’s body was rather frail but had this amiable smile on his face. He brought Jiang Yi to an elegant two-floored loft. A single floor had four to five rooms within, which was extremely extravagant.

“That won’t be necessary!”

Jiang Yi wasn’t used to being attended to by servants, and he estimated that he was soon about to enter the Mt. Spirit Beast College after the Blood Purge. Thus, he might as well reject their good offer.

Changing his robes after a bath, Jiang Yi wore a brand new green embroidered robe. With a new look, his entire look became delicate and dashing. It was entirely true that a human relied on their dressing while a buddha relied on their gold coating—to bring out their appearance.

He went to the front hall and had a great meal with Jiang Yunhai. Jiang Yi then got up and prepared to go into cultivation seclusion. For the entire two weeks journey to get here, the carriage kept on jolting and jerking, giving him insufficient time to cultivate. Until now, he hadn’t broken through to the fifth stage of the Cast Tripod Realm yet. Jiang Yunhai mentioned that the Mt. Spirit Beast Blood Purge was going to start in five days; he wanted to make use of these few days to work hard.

Unexpectedly, Old He came in to report: “Master, there is a young miss seeking for a meeting. She said her name is Ji Tingyu.”

“Huh?”

Jiang Yunhai and Jiang Yi looked at each other with shock. Jiang Yunhai didn’t tell Ji Tian that he was coming to the Spirit Beast City, and the coachman of the Ji Clan probably didn’t have the guts to leak this information. They had just arrived at the Spirit Beast City; how did Ji Tingyu know?

Jiang Yi wasn’t surprised to know that Ji Tingyu was here at the Spirit Beast City. A month ago, she and Jiang Henshui had already set off as they had to participate in the Blood Purge to become official cadets.

Jiang Yunhai waved his hand and gestured. “Let her in.”

Old He went back out, and Jiang Yi originally wanted to leave as well; but Jiang Yunhai gestured for him to stay. “This Ji Clan’s lass is obviously here to look for you; I shall not be seeing her. The two of you should have a good conversation. This lass from the Ji Clan ain’t bad, but a pity that she is rather arrogant.”

“Oh!”

Jiang Yi waited in the guest hall, and soon enough, Old He brought a young miss in. She wore a splendid yellow long dress; she had this exquisitely pretty face that no one dared to look straight at. She possessed a pair of gem-like eyes that seemed like it could see through anything. Ji Tingyu was still so alluring that it suffocated people.

Ji Tingyu walked in and didn’t look around. She seemed to have expected that Jiang Yunhai wouldn’t see her. She looked at Jiang Yi and smiled while doing a woman’s salute. “Tingyu should address you as Young Master Yi, Young Master Jiang, or just Jiang Yi?”

“Just call me Jiang Yi.”

Jiang Yi awkwardly rubbed his nose and curiously asked, “How did Miss Ji know that I am here?”

“I simply guessed!”

Ji Tingyu’s eyes were overflowing with spirit as she smiled and explained, “My father told me that your servant girl got poisoned. After doing some check, I found out that you have no other choice but to find that heaven-tier healer in Mt. Spirit Beast College. Seeing how well you treat your servant girl, you would definitely risk everything to rescue her. That is why you had to come here! I ask someone at the northern gates to inform me when they see my clan’s carriage. So I assumed it was you who arrived.”

How insane!

Jiang Yi raised his thumb in his mind. This young miss didn’t merely have talent; she had absolute beauty and insane intelligence. No wonder she was always so arrogant. What kind of man would actually be able to match someone like her?

Jiang Yi went silent for a moment before he lifted his head and looked at Ji Tingyu. “Miss Ji, since you came finding me, is there something I can help you with?”

“You… don’t you know any etiquette? Or understand any grace? I am visiting your home, and you are not serving me any tea?”

Ji Tingyu sighed slightly and saw Jiang Yi serving tea in a panic; she burst out laughing and gestured to ask Jiang Yi to stop. “That’s enough; I am just joking with you. I am here to remind you to be cautious for this year’s Blood Purge. Your group has plenty of hidden talents, and most of the participants have special statuses. You better not try to fight for the top ten spots, or else you might offend a lot of people; and when you enter the college, you would need to suffer some consequences…”
