Chapter 1659: Identity Exposed

“Leave!”

Jiang Yi soon made his decision. Since if he went out and was identified, he could break out anytime. He wanted to try his luck and see if he could fool his way through. He was not going to expose his identity until the very last moment; if not, his chances of dying would be very high.

Since he was going to head out, he wasn’t going to just do so casually. After all, many people had seen his portrait already. Jiang Yi thought about it for a while, gritted his teeth, and unleashed a wisp of burning flames. This flame was not a Merged Flame but a low-grade flame from within his Chaos Pearl.

He did not take out his Fire Spirit Pearl, and so once the flame appeared, his clothes were burned and so was his entire body. The terrifyingly high temperature also destroyed all the furniture within the castle. Fortunately, the restrictions in the castle had been activated; the high temperature did not destroy the castle and did not alarm anyone outside.

Ss, ss…

Jiang Yi rolled about in pain on the ground as he cried out in pain. He immediately took out his Divine Tree leaf to heal himself. He controlled the Divine Tree leaf rather precisely: while the wounds on his body were healed, the scars on his face and body had not recovered fully. He reached and scratched off a few patches of burn marks on his face, and he looked very ugly and grotesque.

Buzz! Buzz!

He had just sat on the floor, huffing and puffing, when the castle’s restrictions lit up again. Someone was calling him from the outside. Jiang Yi endured the pain as he took out a medial-grade battle armor as he wore it and deactivated the restrictions. His divine senses swept forth as he asked coldly, “What is up?”

“My Lord, the City Lord has asked for everyone to gather outside. If anyone does not appear in fifteen minutes, they would be killed.” That waiter had appeared as he respectfully cupped his hands and reported.

“Alright, I got it. I’ll be out soon!”

Jiang Yi’s voice traveled outside as the waiter went to notify other guests in other castles. Jiang Yi’s divine senses swept outside, and after making sure this waiter had left, he walked out boldly. It was rather chaotic and boisterous outside as many people were heading out. Jiang Yi followed suit and easily mixed into the crowd.

Swish! Swish! Swish!

Once he walked out of the inn, countless gazes and divine senses swept over. Jiang Yi pretended to be frightened as he looked up, took a few looks, and then felt a little more assured. The troops overhead were not from the Lion Dragon Army; he did not recognize a single person up there, and no one from this army should have seen him before. They wouldn’t be familiar with his soul spirit and aura.

As expected!

Many divine senses swept on him but did not linger. Jiang Yi’s face was full of scars, and he walked with a limp; he looked rather pitiful.

Although more than half a day had gone by, some people within the city still had wounds on their bodies. After all, so many people had nearly been burned to death; it was normal that some still carried scars and burn marks.

Jiang Yi did not circulate his heavenly powers, and he did not emanate a sliver of his aura. Many people were crowding around outside as Jiang Yi slowly headed towards the city plaza with them. He followed tens of people as they found an empty space and sat cross-legged, looking up at the tens of thousands of soldiers with fear in his eyes.

That King-Ranked elder did not send out his divine senses to check but was looking about warily as if waiting for someone to appear. As time passed and more and more people emerged in the city plaza and the surrounding streets, the streets became so clogged that many people decided to fly up and stand above the many castles instead.

“Time’s up!”

The King-Ranked elder waited for fifteen minutes as he then shouted, “Go and search!”

Thousands of soldiers flew down as they formed tens of troops and started to search the entire city. Their divine senses swept by over and over again. Once they found a place with restrictions, they would immediately attack and destroy the restrictions. There were some people in seclusion cultivating in a few castles; these people were immediately killed as well.

Swish! Swish! Swish!

In a small castle to the left, tens of men suddenly flew up and started flying about frantically. They weren’t that strong and were at most only Titled Battle Gods. Twenty-Sixth Elder’s eyes grew cold as his divine senses swept over. He snorted and said, “These are Netherworld Realm lackeys; kill!”

Swish!

A thousand-strong troop shot forward and unleashed their attacks as shooting stars filled the skies and enveloped the fleeing men. Most of them were blown apart while the remaining seven or eight hurriedly fled.

“Eh?”

Jiang Yi realized that this Twenty-Sixth Elder actually had not moved; the army was also staying put as they looked over at that side. However, Jiang Yi saw that from afar, a few thousand men actually appeared and neared the fleeing men. His eyes narrowed; there were soldiers lying in wait outside?

A few men versus a few thousand; the outcome was clear. Jiang Yi did not bother with that battle anymore as he grew tenser. That elder had finally started to investigate and check every single one of them. Jiang Yi could feel powerful divine senses sweeping through the entire city. He did not dare to circulate his heavenly powers or let loose the slightest killing aura; he didn’t dare to release illusion mystical abilities or the Art of Concealment. He could only try his best to relax and appear as frightened as the men around him, to wait for Twenty-Sixth Elder to check him.

Divine senses soon floated over Jiang Yi’s body. It actually paused for a while on Jiang Yi; Jiang Yi’s injuries were slightly more severe than others and had attracted Twenty-Sixth Elder’s attention and suspicion.

Jiang Yi felt that things were about to go south; however, he didn’t dare to move at all as he looked up at Twenty-Sixth Elder with fear in his eyes. Just at that moment, Twenty-Sixth Elder’s gaze swept across and their eyes met. Jiang Yi hurriedly lowered his head in fear.

Jiang Yi’s acting had successfully dispelled Twenty-Sixth Elder’s suspicions. In the eyes of the Dao Clan, Jiang Yi was a fiend, a crazed man, and a deprived maniac; how could he appear to be so cowed?

The elder’s divine senses continued sweeping to the side as Jiang Yi’s heart finally settled down. However, the next moment, the hairs on his body stood up. Twenty-Sixth Elder’s divine senses had swept back once again as he stretched his hand and pointed at Jiang Yi, saying, “You, stand up!”

Swish! Swish! Swish!

Countless glances swept over, and Jiang Yi almost actually took out his mummy to start killing his way out. However, he swiftly suppressed the killing intent inside him as he blinked his eyes fearfully, pointed at himself, and said, “My Lord, you called me?”

Although Twenty-Sixth Elder’s divine senses were locked onto him, they did not have killing intent; he did not seem to be taking any action. If Twenty-Sixth Elder was certain that he was Jiang Yi, Twenty-Sixth Elder would definitely be murderous; that was something he would not be able to hide. Furthermore, he would have also sent out a signal immediately.

“Nonsense, stand up!”

Twenty-Sixth Elder snorted as Jiang Yi could only stand up obediently. He was very anxious and his body was trembling slightly as well. Twenty-Sixth Elder looked at him and said, “Check his identity: I suspect him to be a spy.”

Swish! Swish!

A few hundred men flew over and locked onto Jiang Yi; they would kill him if he made a move. The Azure Wind City Lord Dao Gui flew over and asked coldly, “What is your name? Which clan are you from? When did you come to Azure Wind City?”

Jiang Yi cried out bitterly internally. Twenty-Sixth Elder had definitely been suspicious of the severity of his injuries.

Although he could easily give a random name, Jiang Yi didn’t know how to fake a clan name. He was not familiar with the Heaven Domain at all; he couldn’t possibly say he belonged to the Azure Wind City, right? This was Dao Gui’s territory, and he could easily find out Jiang Yi was lying.

Swish!

At this moment, an air-splitting sound rang out from afar. A snow-white beast dragged a beautiful war chariot and soared over. Countless people were attracted by this as their faces revealed their astonishment and mesmerizing looks.

Twenty-Sixth Elder glanced over and immediately flew over to welcome this war chariot. Jiang Yi also looked at the war chariot as his soul spirit seemed to receive a jolt!

A young mistress and a middle-aged female formidable martial artist sat on that war chariot. At this moment, the young mistress’s eyes were sweeping down into the city and met Jiang Yi’s gaze. This young mistress’s eyes lit up slightly as if she had seen through something.

This young mistress was no other than He Nongying, the young mistress who had almost killed Jiang Yi with one strike in the Demon-Killing Palace. Jiang Yi got a sliver of a feeling from He Nongying’s gaze; his identity had been seen through by her.
