Chapter 138: Death Fight

“Request?”

Principal Qi’s expression darkened; the other Vice Principals had this unnatural expression as well while many of the cadets were silently giving a thumbs-up. A cadet was actually talking about terms with the college? Wasn’t he afraid of being expelled?

Principal Qi didn’t have a good impression of Jiang Yi, which was why she let out a cold snort before replying indifferently, “What request do you have?”

Jiang Yi let out an indistinct smile, “Simple. I request for this challenge to be a death match which does not account deaths. Otherwise, I cannot utilize my full strength!”

“En?”

After Jiang Yi finished his statement, plenty of expressions instantly changed. People like Princess Yun Fei, those mentors who knew about Jiang Yi, or those Prodigy and Elite Cadets who entered the Tomb of the Heaven Monarch—all of them instinctively felt fear. Those that witnessed Jiang Yi’s massacre had a severely pale face, and their bodies began to tremble. If Jiang Yi was able to utilize his full force… let alone 50 individuals, even 500 cadets and mentors wouldn’t be sufficient for him to slaughter.

This was a promotion challenge, and it originally had its limits. The most fundamental rule was the forbidding of killing or be banished from the college. If it was just a challenge, people like Princess Yun Fei wouldn’t mind going for some fun. But now, many people were silently stepping back—among them were two of the mentors.

“You request for a death match? Aren’t you afraid of being killed?” Principal Qi’s long brows furrowed while she spoke to Jiang Yi with a dignified tone.

Jiang Yi laughed casually. “Life and death are up to fate, wealth and riches are up to heaven. Didn’t the mentors always teach us that a martial artist shouldn’t fear death? Don’t worry, Principal Qi, I will control myself to prevent any severe injuries. If someone is capable enough to kill me, I, Jiang Yi, will not have a single complaint.”

“Alright then!”

Principal Qi let out a helpless sigh. When cadets requested for a death match, the college would generally accept it. But she too believed that with them around, Jiang Yi will not be able to kill anyone. She exchanged glances with the several Vice Principals and shouted, “Who is willing to join the fight? Any Elite Cadets who participate will get 500 accumulation points. Prodigy Cadets get 1000 accumulation points, and Mentors get 3000!”

“Swish! Swish! Swish!”

Many of the cadets automatically took steps back—even some mentors quietly took two steps back. After Principal Qi gave the statement, no one dared to participate.

“En?”

Principal Qi’s expression changed and was rather furious. She gave a grave look at the mentors and suppressed her voice, “Is there no one who will participate?”

All the mentors looked at each other, and finally, ten male mentors gritted their teeth and stepped out. With so many cadets and Principal Qi looking at them, it would be unreasonable if they still didn’t step out. If the news that mentors were afraid of cadets was to spread out, the reputation of the Mt. Spirit Beast College would be at stake.

Principal Qi nodded with slight satisfaction. She then swept her glance across all the Elite and Prodigy Cadets before she spoke with a deep tone, “Elite Cadets will be rewarded with 1000 points for participation, Prodigy Cadets get 2000! What are you afraid of? I am here! Will I let anyone of you have any mishaps?”

With such rewards, brave individuals would definitely appear!

Coupled with Principal Qi’s guarantee, many of them were tempted. Some Prodigy Cadets who were young masters of great clans from the Great Xia Kingdom didn’t lose out, too. They didn’t believe that Jiang Yi could be as formidable as the rumors, and plenty of them began to register for the match.

On the day of Jiang Yi’s massacre, Princess Yun Fei was hidden in the nearby vicinity. This was why even though Principal Qi hinted her plenty of times, she insisted not to join.

Principal Qi was getting impatient and suddenly sent a secret message: “Yun Fei, you go, too. I will not let anything happen to you. If all of you are able to defeat Jiang Yi, my self-created martial skill, Cloud Blast Palm, will be imparted to you!”

Yun Fei’s eyes lit up. This Cloud Blast Palm was the martial skill that set the reputation for Principal Qi. It was of heaven-tier inferior grade. She mumbled for a moment before clenching her teeth and said, “Okay, I will participate, too!”

“Wow!”

The cadets that were around Yun Fei got excited. Yun Fei’s sorcery was abnormally wicked; if she was going to participate, this promotion challenge would have a highlight. This was definitely a rare occasion in the Mt. Spirit Beast College.

Soon enough, ten mentors and forty cadets had been chosen. Three of the mentors were at the peak stage of Purple Mansion realm while the other seven were all at least at the seventh stage. Among the cadets, the weakest of them was at the second stage of Purple Mansion Realm. There were Prodigy Cadets like Yun Fei who was above the fifth stage of Purple Mansion Realm and three others who had special skills.

Zhan Wushuang silently walked over and pointed at a few individuals while whispering to Jiang Yi, “Jiang Yi, beware of Yun Fei, Shen Ying, and Ah Ni. It is rumored that Yun Fei’s sorcery is very bizarre.

“Shen Ying is the Young Master of the Shen Clan which is one of the Great Clans of Great Xia Kingdom. It is rumored that he possess the Astral Body of Wind, and his speed is as fast as lightning.

“Ah Ni is the prince of a barbarian clan of the Heaven Mystic Kingdom and is extremely powerful in physical strength. His physical defense is also insanely high—so much that even artifact weapons cannot injure him…”

“Okay, I will be careful!”

Jiang Yi’s wore a grave expression. Regular individuals weren’t a problem; it was the martial artists with special traits that were dangerous. Especially Yun Fei’s sorcery which sent chills down the spine. It was the unknown that always put fear in man.

“Get back!”

Principal Qi yelled out, and the cadets automatically scattered to the sides, leaving a spacious area in the center of the plaza. Those mentors and cadets that were participating swiftly rushed towards the center. They didn’t gather all together but formed a circle instead, while staring at Jiang Yi.

Jiang Yi took a glance at Su Ruoxue who was observing the match behind Principal Qi. He sent a gratifying expression and walked towards the center of the plaza. He walked steadily with a calm expression as though he was casually walking around in his own backyard.

“Swish! Swish!”

As Jiang Yi walked forward, the cadets in front of him took the initiative and cleared the way. Jiang Yi walked into the middle of the plaza and glanced at everyone. He then stated indifferently, “Let’s begin!”

“Clang-clang!”

Countless individual drew out their weapons and immediately circulated their essence force. Their eyes were brimming with battle intent and were waiting for Principal Qi’s orders to attack.

When Principal Qi saw that everyone was ready, she nodded to the Vice Principals. They spread themselves to all directions and stood by to rescue anyone that was in danger. With so many Soul Travel Realm vice principals around, if a casualty still happened, it would truly be a joke.

Once all the vice principals were in place, Principal Qi cast her sights onto the center of the stage and shouted, “Let the promotion challenge begin!”

The entire atmosphere quieted down, and thousands of cadets held their breaths, fixing their eyes on the stage. Such a high-level match was a great opportunity for them to learn from.

“Attack!”

The mentors exchanged looks; they immediately injected essence force into their weapons and roared. Once the mentors made their move, the cadets followed suit and gushed at Jiang Yi from all directions. From their perspective, as long as they were able to close in on him, he wouldn’t have enough hands to deal with all of them. He would then instantly fall, right?

Jiang Yi didn’t move; he didn’t even circulate essence force on his body. He disregarded more than 20 incoming individuals and focused his attention on Yun Fei, Shen Ying, and Ah Ni. Weird enough, the three of them didn’t move either and just observed Jiang Yi from afar, waiting for the opportunity to strike.

“Swish!”

Among the mentors that rushed at him, two of them were at the peak stage of Purple Mansion Realm. One of them was wielding a black long rod, and other was wielding a giant ax. The radiance that was beaming from their weapons was suffocating.

Massacre Intent!

Jiang Yi finally acted. His body didn’t move, but his eyes were beginning to turn blood red. A horrific killing aura poured out from his body, shrouding the dozens of people who were rushing towards him.

With the Massacre Intent activated, it instantly gave everyone a feeling that heaven and earth changed like the wind and clouds were randomly shifting. Everyone that was rushing over had their speed drastically reduced—some of them couldn’t even move. Only those that were above the seventh or eighth stage of Purple Mansion Realm could still fight.
