Chapter 169 – Florida Man Quits His Job to Start New Career as Gamer, Spends All His Savings in Gacha Game.

After settling down the clothing store employees, Leo inspected the shop domain system menu again as there were many new features.

After moving the clothing store into the building, the map highlighted the clothing store, and there was an exclamation icon on it. Curious, Leo pressed on the icon.

DING

A new system screen appeared, and it showed the status of the clothing store.

.

Clothing Store Level 9

Automaton Worker (0/5)

Automaton Weaver – (1/5)

Weaver Skills – (5/5) MAX

Store Quality – (3/5)

.

"Oh, I thought I would get something new. What a bummer."

It was a shortcut to display the store's status. Leo could use it to upgrade the store without touching it.

As the main building was already level 10, Leo upgraded the clothing store without hesitation. Instead of adding more points to the store's quality, he put one extra point to a new weaver to increase the production rate.

.

Clothing Store Level 10

Automaton Worker (0/5)

Automaton Weaver – (2/5)

Weaver Skills – (5/5) MAX

Store Quality – (3/5)

.

A new cat-eared mannequin manifested. She stood straight and gazed at the other weaver for a moment. Then, she approached Leo and poked his arm with her index finger.

Leo was familiar with these mannequins. As usual, he peeled his skin for the automaton. The weaver received it in glee. However, it kept staring at Leo and tugged his suit.

"Oh, I forgot. I haven't assigned you a job, right?"

The new mannequin nodded.

"Okay. See the clothes in the store? Make more of those. I don't care which type you make. Just make sure that everything will always be in stock."

The cat-girl automaton nodded again and walked into the store. She stopped in front of her senior and began communicating by nodding and twitching their heads, sending MOS codes.

The tamer girls in the store got scared of the two mannequins. They looked as if they came straight from a horror movie or they were possessed by demon spirits. Fortunately, they didn't start chasing anyone. The weavers continued producing black suits and night dresses as usual.

But the system wasn't done with Leo. It gave him a new hint.

DING

<Tips: The max level of all buildings is 10. However, you can upgrade them further if you complete Fate Crystal quests.>

"…"

Being reminded of the main quest, Leo checked the Fate Crystal Quest menu.

Two new screens appeared. The left one showed the number of fate crystals in Leo's possession and their abilities. Leo got to see what his Entity Fate Crystals could do. The adjacent window showed the tasks that Leo needed to complete.

.

Fate Crystal Quest Introduction

When you assimilated with the Entity Fate Crystal for the first time, a new fate and power have been granted to you. Your first Entity Fate Crystal is specialized in "Store System" and "Lifespan". Therefore, your fate and quests in the future will revolve around your store and lifespan.

As you have experimented with the store system, you already learned about its nature and perks. However, those perks are nothing compared to the true potential of the Store System and your great fate.

The following quests shall serve as guidelines on how you can utilize the Store System to the fullest potential. Bear in mind that nothing comes for free. You will need to invest in the system to become the strongest system user in this universe.

*Note. For further details about fate crystal's abilities, check the Fate Crystal Abilities Menu.

.

The introduction sounded corny and suspicious. Also, Leo already had an ongoing Earth Fate Crystal Tutorial. He wondered what this quest series would be.

He scrolled the quest window further down to read.

.

Quest Types

Fate Crystal Quests are categorized into four – Main Quests, Repeatable Quests, Side Quests, and Time-Limited Quests.

Mean Quests are your main objectives that you should prioritize over everything else. It consists of 13 phrases and each phrase consists about 10-20 tasks. The tasks can be challenging or tedious. However, the rewards for every completion are abundant and generous. You may find yourself chasing after the main tasks in the future.

Repeatable Quests have three sub-categories. Daily Quests, Weekly Quests, and Monthly Quests will discipline you and reward you for the chores. The rewards are not as generous as the main quests, but they can accumulate if you don't neglect them. In short, they are the quests to promote hard workers.

Side Quests are secondary tasks you can unlock as you meet more people or travel abroad. They usually appear when you come across a fate crystal or a fate crystal owner. The content of the quests varies, depending on your compatibility with the fate crystals.

Time-limited quests are self-explanatory. Nobody can tell when and how to trigger these quests. However, only those who are blessed by luck can receive these quests. It is rumored that the quests' difficulty is higher than the main quests, but the rewards are always worth the effort and investment. Please be mindful of these quests when they appear.

.

Everything sounded like the general game systems of modern gacha games or MMORPGs. Reading about it reminded him of the nostalgic past when he was a human.

The introduction pages were over. Leo checked the content of the quests.

.

.

Leo scratched his head. He did nothing, but seven of ten tasks were listed as completed. As for the task rewards, they hadn't been claimed yet.

Behind each task, there was a claim button. Leo manually pressed on them.

DING

Digital tickets appeared in his shop domain menu. He got 7 building lucky draws and seven automaton lucky draws.

Looking at the tickets reminded Leo of the blasphemous gacha games in the past. They were the source of all evil, and Leo used to invest heavily in one of those games.

"Mah gawd. Should I keep it until I have 10 tickets or what? Will I have a discount or a guarantee system if I pull 10 at once?"

Leo laughed and pressed on the flashing ticket icons. Then, the window navigated to a new tab, which he had never seen before.

It was a gacha page!

There was a gacha system hiding in his shop domain system?!

Leo widened his eyes in astonishment and disbelief. Still, as he once used a lucky draw and got the gunsmith workshop, Leo quickly came back to his senses.

He read the new page, and he was not disappointed.

Images of fancy miniature buildings floated on the page. At the bottom right, there was a one-draw button and a 10+1 draw button! In addition, it cost 10 gacha tickets to draw 11!

The sentence above the buttons ignited Leo's gambling addiction.

[Guaranteed Rare or higher rarity for every 10+1 draw.]

In short, it would be more beneficial for Leo to accumulate 10 tickets to use it at once.

"What about the automatons? Will I get 2B or KOSMOS from the gacha or what?"

The automaton page was just a swipe away. Leo pressed the right arrow button on the right edge of the screen, and a new gacha page appeared.

This page showed the images of faceless mannequins in the background. However, a beautiful female android and a strong-looking humanoid robot stood in front of the generic ones, acting as their poster guy and girl.

The promotion was the same. Leo needed 10 for the guaranteed rare and the bonus draw.

Unfortunately, Leo couldn't purchase the missing tickets. He pressed the draw 10+1 button to test it, but the system warned Leo that he had insufficient items.

"System, can I buy these tickets?"

Again, the system didn't give him another hint or allow him to buy lucky draw tickets.

"I guess I have no choice but to complete the main quests. But what about the daily quest thingy?"

Leo turned his attention to the repeatable quest tab. He glanced at them. Then, he knitted his brow.

.

Daily Quests

- Sell 1,000 items in your store. (0/1,000)

- Attract 1,000 customers to your store (0/1,000)

- Gain at least 1,000 years of lifespan by selling items from your store. (0/1,000)

Rewards (Per Task Completion): 1,000 essence stones

Rewards (Per Full Completion): 10,000 Years of Lifespan

.

The quests were impossible for Leo at the moment as everybody in his domain was Leo's employee. After he had absorbed the Life Sword Sect and the Amazonian Sanctuary into his domain, he didn't get any new customers.

He wondered where all the customers went.

The weekly quests and monthly quests were even more brutal. The quests required Leo to proactively bring in customers to his store. The number also exceeded the daily quests by ten times.

In short, without a customer, Leo couldn't complete any repeatable quest.

Realizing the issue, Leo had a headache. He scratched his head so much that his hair got slightly messy.

"Forget it. I'll complete the main quests first."

Leo turned his attention to the shop domain system. He moved all three alchemy workshops into the shopping mall's building, putting them on the fifth floor as they were related to the production. He also moved the gunsmith workshop to the fifth floor as Leo designated the top floor for the production workshops.

Next, Leo upgraded all of them to level 10 and put one point to new cauldrons. With this setup, the workshop's production rate would double.

.

Basic Alchemy Workshop Level 10

Active Cauldrons: (2/5)

Alchemist Automaton (1/5)

Production Quality Level – (5/5)

Production Quantity Level – [2/5]

.

With a new cauldron, Leo could focus on completing the pill-making task. However, he didn't need to do it right away as there were other important things to do.

Leo hadn't explored the new batch of buildable structures yet.

He opened the shop domain system to see the list of the new buildings. Then, he found many interesting structures.
