Chapter 80: Chapter 80 The Invincible enforcement officers

Chapter 80 The Invincible enforcement officers

During self-cultivation, it was as if time had stopped. When Ling Yun gathered all his attention with no distractions and stay disciplined to achieve his goal of leveling up, he was totally unaware of the passing of time. Without any watch or phone with him, the best way to deduce the time was the color of the sky.

It’s now just the shining little stars, blinking over the pitch black backdrop. Looking up, Ling Yun realized there wasn’t any better opportunity to practice the Dayan Great Stars Technique.

Things were no longer the same after reaching the peak of level two for Ling Yun. As he practiced the Dayan Great Stars Technique, he was able to feel the power from the stars beaming into his body, causing changes in him. It would have been faster for him if he could absorb the power from the moon as well, but the moon was not in the right phase at the time.

This Dayan Great Stars Technique is not something to be belittled. In Cultivation World where Ling Yun had practiced this set of tactics to its highest level, he was able to arrange the five moons in order and induce them to shine their rays onto him, such that the power of the moons were all absorbed into Ling Yun’s body. It looked as if there were five bridges connecting the five moons to Ling Yun’s figure.

Adding to those bridges were countless light rays from the families of stars above. It was as if Ling Yun was at the center of the solar system, where even nature had to respect and succumb to him.

But for now, all Ling Yun could do now was to compliment himself secretly. After all, he had been far removed from the old him. The current him had to work his way up all over again.

Why did Ling Yun have so much confidence to pull off a seventy kilograms slimming programme feat in a short period of two months? Running with sandbags attached to him and moving against the current with the water level at his belly button were great informed choices for his goal of slimming down. Another reason was the Dayan Great Stars Technique.

The first step of these tactics was to eradicate all the redundant and useless substances in his body including the fats!

One way to lose weight was to exercising vigorously and another was to burn the fats by using the power of the sun, moon, and stars in the sky. With these, Ling Yun had already decreased his weight to below two hundred kilograms though he was still far off his ideal weight given his level.

The same applied to everyone. As people decided to embark on their weight-loss programmes, they would come to realize that the effects were only more obvious at the initial stages. As time passed, the differences in figure and weight were no longer that easy and obvious to comment on.

Yet, Ling Yun knew he need not have to try. He could feel his figure getting leaner, his body fats decreasing as well as having a sharper face shape appearing for him.

He was not bothered by his physical changes. He was more concerned about his immortal spiritual energy discovered previously. There were the reasons for the immortal spiritual energy to be spotted in those areas. However, after Ling Yun hesitated to level up, the immortal spiritual energy disappeared from sight, no matter how hard he tried to find it. It was as if the immortal spiritual energy did not appear from the very start.

Ling Yun did not have the ability to find it back, hence the only option he had was to wait patiently.

Now that he had dug out this truth, Ling Yun warned himself to not waste his remaining immortal spiritual energy randomly. It was to be only used for emergencies.

Initially very worried that the Shichiyou herbs might have grown too fast, too mature for him to absorb spiritual energy from. But the presence of these unrivaled immortal spiritual energy settled his heart down calmingly.

Ling Yun stood beside the herbs, quietly yet seriously looking at the Dayan Great Stars Technique. Ling Yun had a little bit of a problem as he was not taught or given practices on how to derive the timing from different horoscopes. Yet, from his memory, he was able to point out and decipher The Big Dipper, whose stars had been shining the brightest.

Since I have forgotten about the time, maybe I should not be bothered by it too. Anyways, it would be a better option to train hard now than to return home and wake them up by accident.

Why was Ling Yun so hardworking? The reason was due to the discomfort he felt after the accident earlier on in the afternoon.

Over at Cultivation World, Ling Yun had participated in countless battles, saving himself out of numerous devious traps. All of these were not by luck. Every time an unfortunate event was going to occur, Ling Yun would feel discomfort and thus set out on some preventive measures.

It did not take too long before the break of dawn seemed imminent. It was finally time to stop. By now, Ling Yun had already absorbed the maximum amount of spiritual energy into himself and had built upon the development of the Dayan Great Stars Technique as well.

He had to leave as soon as possible before anyone walked past to think he is a lunatic. But what Ling Yun cared more about was no one finding out about the Shichiyou herbs here. What would he do without these herbs?

Hey my treasure, I won’t require you to get to level three for now. But as I progress to a higher level, I’ll definitely come back and find you again! Ling Yun thought in his head. Nothing could deny how close Ling Yun was to Level three now, requiring just a short spurt in his spiritual energy growth to break the level two barrier. On the other hand, after reaching level three, there would be a lack of spiritual energy inside Ling Yun’s body. He would have to find sources so as to continue leveling up.

Finishing up his thoughts, Ling Yun intentionally took a remote route towards Lingjiang Road’s slum area. Gradually, he picked up his pace and started running.

Now that he had reached the peak of level two and his body became physically more enhanced, Ling Yun was able to sprint at a pace faster than when he came. The speed of his legs was now able to cover eighty miles easily in an hour. Don’t forget all these was happening with the two sandbags still tied to his legs.

It was fifteen minutes to six in the morning. Ling Yun had slowed down drastically to look as though he were just a fellow jogger on the main street of Lingjiang Road. There were no signs of fatigue or exhaustion on his face. Ling Yun was not panting, and neither did he activate his spiritual energy to finish his run.

Soon, the sun had risen, while pedestrians and vehicles were waiting for their turn at the traffics. His did not jog for too long as he eventually started to walk, about two kilometers from the neighborhood clinic. Nothing was able to snatch his wide smile on his face that morning.

As he happily walked down the of the street, like an excited kid going for a funfair, Ling Yun was greeted with signboards everywhere. On every board, there was this one word. Demolish.

Demolish? Isn’t that what Tang Meng was going on about last night? Ling Yun recalled last night’s discussion to what he saw, as he got extremely curious. Especially so when this genius from Cultivation World is so interested in the history of China.

He proceeded to walk forward for another kilometer. By now, the sky was completely bright. The peasants were all up ready to slog another day of their life off for the sake of money.

Increasing number of stalls were set up at both sides of the streets, some selling breakfast snacks while the others were displaying their vegetables for sale. The shophouses, mostly made up of small enterprises and spiritual energy, had also kicked their doors open. Lingjiang Road returned to its crowded and noisy atmosphere.

“Although chaos and noises are produced from all the concurrent transactions, there seemed to be a form of order in this huge mess…” Ling Yun uttered to himself. It was unbelievable how he could derive the thought of order just by looking at the chaos from the purchases and bargainings. His train of thoughts in his mind was ridiculously imaginative!

As he continued his journey down Lingjiang road, he took the chance to grab a few snacks here and there, for his family’s breakfast.

All of a sudden, loud screams were heard.

“Run! The enforcement officers are back!”

Before he could get a gist of what was happening, he witnessed the stall owners frantically packing up their stalls and fleeing.

“Hurry! What a bunch of b*stards! Why are they working on a Sunday morning?”

“These youngsters have nothing better to do! They are only so optimistic and responsible when it comes to chasing us away!”

‘Hey, stop complaining! Hurry up and leave before we get caught!”

“Go! Go! We have to leave this place as soon as possible before they arrive!”

“The enforcement officers? I’m pretty sure they are robbers instead! How can they scare the hell out of these honest and humble workers!” Ling Yun was confused and agitated at the same time.

“Are the enforcement officers really so fearsome? The way they scare the people off just doesn’t make sense to me!”

As he walked up further he managed to catch a glimpse of the team. A white van was moving steadily on the street. Inside the van, there were a few guys shouting loudly into their loudhailers.

Not far from the white van were a group of five blue-colored uniformed teenagers surrounding and reprimanding an unfortunate stall owner.

“How many times have I caught you already? Why can’t you learn your lesson? It’s already the fourth occasion this month! How should I deal with you?” one of the teenagers said rudely to the owner.

“I’m sorry! I’m really sorry! My husband was working at a construction site where he was knocked out by a falling brick. He’s still unconscious up till now! This is the only time I have to earn some money before heading to the hospital later to take care of him. I’m sorry! Forgive me! Please let me off!” the poor lady pleaded.

“Stop your acting! Stop treating me like a fool! If you are not tired of saying the same lie, let me tell you, my ears are sick of hearing them!” the teenager was infuriated as he blasted his words straight onto the stall owner’s face.

“You guys! Round all her belongings up onto our vehicle! Confiscate her electric trishaw as well!”
