Saturday morning.

Although he had been the last to sleep, Ling Yun was the first to wake. He did not disturb anyone else as he washed up quietly and made his way downstairs. Once again, he was on the field but this time, Ling Yun only tied weights to his legs without carrying sandbags. Yesterday’s exercise was too eye-catching as it was shocking to see one carrying weights and sprinting without getting tired.

Ling Yun had come to realize the limitation of the normal human’s ability to comprehend things and decided not to train in bright daylight. Hence, he was just going for a run to loosen his joints.

Of course, Ling Yun’s main motive was to absorb the rays of the Sun, arriving before sunrise. This was done continuously to further improve the Dayan Great Stars Technique and to reach his body strengthening goals.

Given that the essence was most abundant during sunrise, Ling Yun definitely would not miss this moment of the day. It made him extremely frustrated as this world only had one sun and one moon, whereas, in Cultivation World, the sky contained two suns and five moons.

If we are talking about knowledge that one had about the sky, Ling Yun would definitely win against every astronomer in the world. Back home, he had the ability to fly to the five moons and take personal tours around each of them. It was a piece of cake for a cultivator.

With that said, Ling Yun had only been on the moons and had not approached any of the suns. Even those who were more powerful than him were fearful of being incinerated by the big balls of fire.

Those who had passed the Tribulation Stage were still, after all, cultivators and would not dare to advance towards the sun before becoming actual immortals.

Running ten rounds around the field, Ling Yun immediately stopped to activate the Dayan Great Stars Technique just when sunlight first hit the ground. With the ability, the sun’s essence, which was invisible to the naked eye started to get absorbed and it slowly began to change his physique. However, the process was extremely slow and the amount of essence was so limited that Ling Yun was unable to feel it within him.

Understanding that this was the Physique Tempering Stage Level 1 and his first time using the ability, Ling Yun waited patiently. In half an hour, the sun had fully risen and he was no longer able to absorb anymore essence.

To modify one’s physique, it requires a lot of time and effort. Thus, there was no need to rush things.

At this moment, around 6:30 am, the field started to get crowded with those who were unable to go home for the weekend. There were basketball players, footballers, sprinters and the Grade 12 sports students. As athletes, continuous training was required and with only two months to the exams, there was no way that the sports teacher was willing to let them rest.

Just as he was about to start his run after a light warm up, Cheng Zhiye saw Ling Yun. “Hey, isn’t that Ling Yun? What is he doing on the field at this time of the day? Don’t tell me that he wants me to borrow a sandbag for him to run again?”

He had been so surprised by Ling Yun yesterday that even after resting for the whole night, he was still unable to think straight. Seeing Ling Yun now, he assumed that Ling Yun wanted to borrow a sandbag again.

Looking up, Ling Yun glanced in his direction but his gaze wasn’t on Cheng Zhiye but rather, on Li Lei, Xie Junyan’s underling, who was practicing his techniques. Ling Yun couldn’t help but laugh.

What he didn’t know was that under the orders of Xie Junyan, Li Lei had brought a few people with him to block Ling Yun’s way out of the school the previous night. However, Ling Yun did not exit through the main gate and therefore, missed the group of people.

Ling Yun took pride in his low profile but this was a different matter. He had always been able to suppress those that came to find trouble with him, with the exception of those that were stronger than him. For those people, he would certainly go out of his way to hide from them.

In Ling Yun’s dictionary, there is no such thing as ‘shameless’. Noticing Li Lei’s tall figure, Ling Yun smiled so widely that even his hidden dimples were exposed. He walked slowly in the direction of Li Lei.

“Li Lei, how did it go last night? Did you manage to stop Ling Yun?” a sports student asked as he knew that Li Lei would not miss the chance to take revenge. Li Lei had a height of 1.88 meters along with a strong and muscular body. He also sported a huge bruise on his left arm, courtesy of Ling Yun’s sandbag.

“Hmm, he was with Tang Meng the entire day yesterday and he did not even attend the self-study at night! I went to his hostel around 9 pm last night but his door was locked and I had no idea where he went!”

At around 8 pm last night, Ling Yun had been passing the phone to Ning Lingyu along with Tang Meng. After the encounter with Xie Junyan and Zhuang Meina, Xie Junyan had instantly messaged his underling to teach Ling Yun a lesson.

Therefore, Li Lei had brought his friends to Ling Yun’s classroom and his hostel but he did not manage to run into Ling Yun. Assuming that Ling Yun had heard the news, Li Lei thought that he had been hiding from them so he went to the front gate to find him. This way, no matter where Ling Yun was coming from, they would still be able to beat him up.

They, however, wasted their time as they would never have imagined that Ling Yun only came back at around 1 am and he did not even enter by the main gate. They should have thanked their lucky stars for missing Ling Yun as they would have been badly beaten up by him.

Even though Li Lei had heard the news that Ling Yun thrashed Gou Junfa, he still underestimated Ling Yun.

Rubbing the bruise with his left arm, Li Lei continued saying in anger, “That idiot hit me with the sandbag yesterday and if it wasn’t for Tang Meng, he would be lying in the hospital right now. If I find him today, I will ensure that he will be begging for mercy.”

As if he could not sense the presence of danger nearing, Li Lei continued to brag.

“There is no need to search anymore. I am here.” Ling Yun grinned after hearing what Li Lei said. Li Lei’s pupils contracted and he whipped his head back in surprise to see Ling Yun strolling towards him. A merciless gaze flashed across his eyes as he eyed Ling Yun like a wolf eyeing its prey.

“You’re quite courageous aren’t you, fatty? Then why did you hide in fear last night?” Li Lei mocked with the impression that Ling Yun was afraid of him.

Ling Yun became speechless as he looked at Li Lei with a gaze of pity. Hiding from him? I was so busy that I couldn’t find time to look for him. Does that mean that I was hiding from him?

With a gap of 1 meter between them, Li Lei chuckled at Ling Yun’s lack of words and added, “You must be coming to apologize right? Well, let me tell you that even Tang Meng will be unable to save you today!”

Still speechless, Ling Yun looked at Li Lei as if he was a clown.

“Look, isn’t that Ling Yun and that mixed martial arts student, Li Lei?”

“It is Ling Yun! Doesn’t he know that Li Lei always trains in the morning? He still dares to come here?”

“He must have come to apologize to Li Lei.”

“You know nothing! Didn’t you hear about Ling Yun overpowering Gou Junfa yesterday? It is more likely that he came to beat up Li Lei!”

“Beat Li Lei? Gou Junfa is an easy target but Li Lei practices martial arts and there is no way that Ling Yun would be able to win a fight against him!”

“Why don’t we go over to find out?” After a while, a crowd of students started to form around them.

Feeling the loathsome stare from Ling Yun, Li Lei suddenly recalled the scene of getting hit by Ling Yun’s sandbag. He silently murmured, “I heard that you like to fight and shame people these days. I will let you taste the feeling of being shamed and beaten today!”

He then swung his right fist impatiently, aiming for Ling Yun’s face. After getting hit by Ling Yun the previous day, his guard was up. However, Ling Yun did not even flinch. Waiting for the right moment, he slightly tilted his head back, causing Li Lei’s fingertip to graze his nose lightly. He then caught Li Lei’s right arm at lightning speed and shoved him back. Copying Li Lei’s attack, he stuck his left arm out towards Li Lei’s face.

Li Lei was extremely strong but Ling Yun’s strength was on another level.

*Pa!*

*Pa!*

The sound of two slaps rang out with the first being Li Lei’s right hand slapping himself on his bruise and the other being Ling Yun’s hand making contact with Li Lei’s face. Ling Yun had always been too lazy to use much of his energy in fights and would rather use his opponent’s momentum to land blows.

After dodging Li Lei’s hand, the force was too large to control, resulting in Li Lei smacking himself as Ling Yun reversed his momentum. It didn’t take much from Ling Yun to do that. A slight smirk appeared on Ling Yun’s face as he pressed Li Lei on the right arm with his steel-like grip.

At the same time, his left hand came to life as he struck Li Lei continuously until Li Lei went into a daze before stopping.

Silence fell over the crowd with only the sound of slaps resounding across the field. Everyone was stunned by the scene as it was not common to see someone bashing another person up with such aggressiveness and bluntness.
