Chapter 620: Relic

“West, when we go back, help me write up some rules. In the future, we’ll do things according to the rules. The first one is to listen to the president’s orders no matter what.”

Everyone was speechless. Did he have to be so blatant about giving himself more power?

If he said so privately, they wouldn’t have been able to do anything even if they found out.

But now that he was saying it in public, they still didn’t dare to say anything.

But they felt depressed inside.

What did it feel to have more than 100 evil spirits stuffed into a minibus?

Even though spirits didn’t have a tangible body, there were still 100 of them stuffed in there.

It was still very terrifying.

“Is there room for us to keep so many evil spirits?”

“We have money now,” West said with flushed cheeks. “We can move locations.”

“Move? Did I agree?” Chen Zhao glared at him. “You want to move just because we have some money now. Do you think the organization is yours?”

“Uh… Sorry, President. I didn’t think carefully.”

“It’s okay this time. Next time, remember to report to me.”

Chen Zhao was sick of this area too. It was a complete insult to his status as the president.

If anyone asked him who he was, and he said he was the Supernatural Organization’s president, and they asked where he worked, it would be too embarrassing to say that it was some ghetto.

“President, do you have any requirements for the new headquarters?”

“First, it has to be big. At least big enough for so many new members.”

“There needs to be a kitchen,” Jollinash added from the front seat.

“A shower room,” Baliya said.

Everyone looked at her. They’d all seen Baliya’s strip…no, war dance before.

They shouldn’t overthink… Shouldn’t overthink.

“And a playground,” Moore said.

“No,” Chen Zhao said without hesitation. “How old are you and you still want a playground?”

“Reject, reject,” West said. “We’ll get you a seesaw, at most.”

“Okay. Notify me immediately after choosing the location for the new headquarters.”

Chen Zhao looked at Pamela. “Pamela, you’re an official member of the Supernatural Organization now. Help watch them for me. Remember to tell me if anyone causes trouble.”

Pamela was a spirit, but her abilities and knowledge of magic were definitely the highest of the group.

If she became an official member, she could help manage the evil spirits too.

These horrible evil spirits were as tame as lambs before Chen Zhao.

But they might not be so obedient before the other members.

Chen Zhao couldn’t watch over them every day either.

Thus, if Pamela watched them, no big problems would occur.

Pamela had to agree and submit to Chen Zhao too.

If she said no, Chen Zhao might plaster her to the wall.

They didn’t have a close relationship, after all.

The ancient and weatherworn cave painting was made up of crude lines and paint, but the story that it recorded was true history.

“This relic seems to be worth the hike.” The Professor touched the painting with a gloved hand.

Fannity wasn’t very interested in the relic’s paintings.

This relic was half-public. It wasn’t fully public, but it didn’t forbid exploration or research teams.

Fannity walked deeper into the relic.

Suddenly, a strange sound traveled out.

It was like a child’s laugh.

This kind of relic obviously shouldn’t have any children’s voice.

But Fannity heard it clearly.

She didn’t think that it was a hallucination.

But when she turned around, she didn’t see any child.

The other team members were still taking pictures and studying the cave paintings.

Fannity’s eyes flickered and she looked back at the tunnel leading into the depths.

From the information that she’d received, this relic had already been explored fully.

Many other teams had come before. There weren’t any forgotten corners at all.

But with her professional senses, Fannity felt that there was a mysterious aura around here.

Ring!

Suddenly, Fannity’s phone rang.

The sudden ringtone shocked everyone in the relic.

Fannity answered the call.

“Hello, is it Fannity?”

“Yes, it’s me.”

“Professor Pitz wanted me to send some information to you. Can you give me your email?”

“Uh, sure. Where is Professor Pitz?”

“He went out to sea.”

“Sea? Why?”

Fannity was confused. She’d worked with Pitz for many years.

Pitz had come to this relic before too and then kept egging her on to come to look. She might have some special discoveries.

Now that she’d come, Pitz went out to sea.

Didn’t he hate going out to sea?

Why did he go now?

“Sorry, I don’t know either. I’m just his student, but Professor Pitz said that you’d understand.”

“Understand? Understand what?”

Fannity was utterly confused. After she ended the call with Professor Pitz’s student, she received the information sent to her.

She opened it. How come it was all pictures of this relic?

What was this for?

“Mr. Stylin, can you come here?”

Stylin was a very knowledgeable scholar on her team.

“A friend sent this to me. Can you help me see what it means?”

Stylin took her phone. “They’re pictures of here?”

“Yes.”

“This picture seems to be of that side.” Stylin compared the relic to the pictures. “It looks weird. More specifically, the painting inside it.”

“What’s weird?”

“In Incan records, they worship the sun and sky, so most of their paintings look up to the sky and sun. But look at this picture…”

Stylin pointed at the painting on the wall. “This tall man is looking at the ground.”

“Are there no Incan paintings looking at the ground?”

“There are but very rarely. Looking at the ground symbolizes death. If someone in the painting is looking at the ground, it means that he’s about to die.”

“I still don’t understand what’s strange about this. Why can’t it symbolize death?”

“Fannity, look at this row of paintings. This man is like a hero of a fairytale. He accepted three missions, killed a hungry man-eating wolf, defeated a crocodile in the water, and the bear king of the forest. He’s walking on the path of becoming king. The path symbolizes glory too. He should be looking up at the sky when he’s becoming king. Incan kings wouldn’t look down even up until death, but he’s doing that when getting crowned.”

“Then, what does that represent?”
