“I have to give this to you now.”

Rain took out a tall narrow glass. He wrapped a bottle with a towel and gently poured it into the glass.

The glass slowly filled with blue sake.

While I looked at it, I prayed that it would give me a bonus that was at least the same as before. The double experience I gained helped me a lot.

“Here you go,” he said, placing the glass in front of me.

I looked at Rain expectantly and put the drink in my mouth.

A fresh scent tickled my nose. It had a unique sweetness.

It was a cool and sweet drink, as I expected. Its taste was unlike anything I have ever eaten or drank.

Then, a notification window appeared.

[‘Magic 50 increase’ is applied for 3 hours from the moment you leave the exclusive store.]

My eyes widened. I felt like I was struck by lightning.

I didn’t think I would have this effect. I was hoping for something related to experience and money, but I didn’t know there would be anything that would boost my skills.

Even if it’s only for 3 hours, in that duration, my magic is doubled!

“How was your luck today?” Rain asked.

“It said my magic is increased by 50 for 3 hours! Isn’t that awesome?” I said excitedly.

“Huh, well.” Rain’s reaction is what I expected. He is a man who can hardly be surprised.

But one thing is for sure – this increases the likelihood that I will beat the boss.

“Rain, I’ll go. See you in a day!” I said, turning to leave.

“Fate, just a moment…”

What is it?

I had no money now, and whatever Rain will offer, I’m going to have to refuse it. I turned around with a rush.

Rain was reaching out with his palms open.

On top of them, there was a dark, shining object.

It was a pocket watch—a circular item made of thick metal, with a black chain connected to it.

Something was engraved on it, but I could not recognize the symbols.

“It is a gift,” he said. “You need to figure out that the day has passed, right?”

“It looks expensive…Is it free?”

Rain nodded. “The watch is for Fate.”

“Thank you…”

Why?

I felt a mysterious sensation that I could not express in words and accepted the pocket watch from his hand.

Rain was smiling at me, tenderly.

I opened the pocket watch. The clock was pointing at 8:42.

“It is evening. 8:42 PM,” he explained.

“I see. Could you tell me what the date is?”

Rain said in a gentle tone, “May 21, 20XX.”

Exactly ten days had passed since the day I died.

[From now on, ’50 Magic increase’ will be applied.]

[3:00:00]

As soon as I left the exclusive store, I felt that the magic within me was greatly amplified.

I struggled as to where to put the watch. I started to put it on the inventory but decided to stick it in a free spot within my armor because I was anxious that the 3-hr time would be up without me realizing.

After that, out of habit, I activated my Detection and confirmed that there was no enemy around.

I took a deep breath and wore the helmet. It fit perfectly with the armor.

“Good.”

It’s time.

I went straight to the boss room. On my way, I encountered a few Goblin Warriors, but they were no match for me anymore.

In case of an emergency, I took two bodies in my inventory and left the rest alone.

My heart rate increased as I approached the boss room. I recalled the unknown monster behind the door, which was more frightening than the Goblin King.

Calm down. You can do it. Do not die. Stay strong.

I put a key in the keyhole with a big sigh. The door slowly opened, and I stepped in.

The inside was very dark. Even though I was accustomed to the darkness, this was even darker than the places I’ve been. Also, unexpectedly, it was calm and quiet.

The Goblin King sat in a small, tacky chair in the middle of the room. It was instantly noticeable that his armor and helmet were of better quality than the Knights around him.

I blinked. It seemed like they didn’t notice me at all. There were five Goblin Knights in the room, and they all stood still like statues. I couldn’t even tell if they were breathing.

Are they luring me in? In any case, there was no reason to delay. I quickly rushed toward the nearest Goblin Knight and struck my sword on his neck.

It was a Power Attack, with amplified magic power.

With that hit, the boss room suddenly brightened, as if we were under the midday sun.

All the monsters in the room began to move and roared ferociously upon seeing me.

“Kiyi Yi!”

“Key!”

“Ki-ii!”

“Kihhh!”

It was the beginning of the boss battle.

Goblin Knight A lifted a slender, sharp sword, but I blocked it away and swung my sword into his neck. It wasn’t cut off completely, but the wound was severe.

Meanwhile, Goblin Knight B, which was closest to us, rushed at us while screaming.

“Kiyiii!”

I jumped swiftly to dodge Knight B’s attack. Knight A screamed and again tried to lift his sword, but he was already losing power. He fell to the ground and rolled.

Knight B had a ruthless shield rush with sharp edges. As he rushed at me, I pulled out my sword and dodged. While staying within striking distance from B, I shot another black lightning strike at A. This time, A convulsed with a terrible scream.

[Beginning Black Lightning has become Lv9.]

“Key, key!”

“Kiyiii!”

Knights reacted roughly to the death of their colleague. However, the Goblin King still had not moved. He sat there calmly, staring at me.

Good for me, then! Somehow, kill more knights before he joins in!

I picked up A’s body and quickly placed his sword and armor into my inventory. I began to chew him from the head.

“Kiyi yi yi!”

Knight B, C, D, and E all jumped at me from different directions, screaming.

No matter how much armor I wear, it would be fatal to be crushed in their group assault. They are significantly stronger than Warriors.

I kept jumping and dodging them, but they just keep rushing at me. Soon, the distance between us narrowed, and the four Goblin Knights stood side-by-side in front of me.

This is the moment I was waiting for.

I fired Black Lightning with all my might.

“Kiyiiiii!”

C and E dropped to the floor after being hit; B solidified in place, but D remained standing, seemingly undamaged.

I threw the corpse of A at D to block his movement and rushed towards B.

“Oooh-oh-oh-oh!”

Such a strong spirit! Knight B couldn’t move, but he managed to make himself fall down and roll on the floor to avoid me.

It didn’t matter. I just grabbed him and ran, increasing my distance from the other Knights.

Knight B continued to struggle, but I never let go.

The room was so large, so I had to run quite a bit, but as soon as I saw the cave wall, I threw B against it.

I used my Throwing skill, and along it, with the momentum of the distance I ran, B crashed the wall with a loud noise, and he fell unconscious from the impact.

Now, it was easy to finish him off. I hit the unconscious body with a Power Attack.

[You gained 1,600 experience.]

[You acquired 1 silver 60 bronze.]

As I took off B’s armor, I noticed one of the furious Knights was pulling out a crossbow. I quickly used B’s body to shield myself from the bolt. The corpse vibrated with the powerful attack.

“Kihhh…!”

The Goblin King growled. However, he is still not moving from his chair.

I rushed forward with Knight B’s body as a shield. The other two Knights were rushing at me with a spear and a sword, while the third one used his crossbow again.

The second bolt flew in, and Knight B’s corpse shook upon impact. After the bolt hit, I threw the body away, in time to dodge Knight D’s spear. It was aimed at my face.

“Damn you!”

I had to twist my body in weird angles to avoid it while swinging my Blood Sword. It wasn’t enough to fully amputate the Knight’s arms, but his blood spurted like a fountain.

I pushed off the embarrassed Knight D with my shoulders.

Right after that, Knight E stood in front of me, swinging his sword. I had a quick glance behind me and saw Knight C was aiming the crossbow again. I was between a sword and a crossbow.

Suddenly, they attacked at the same time, with the sword flashing with mana!

I bent down at the right moment, and dodged the sword, while the crossbow plugged into Knight E’s body with a thud. It was quite a move.

“Kyap?!” Knight E screamed oddly.

Still bending low, I swung my sword sideways at his legs. His right leg was chopped off at the ankle, and he fell helplessly. I jumped in and trampled his neck.

[You gained 1,580 experience.]

[You acquired 1 silver 60 bronze.]

“Kiyi!”

Knight D jumped back in, snarling. Its cut arm was dangling uselessly, but he’s trying to obstruct my movements as Knight C loads the fourth bolt.

The Goblin King is slowly rising.

I charged at the Goblin King, with my sword aimed towards him.

“Oooh-oh-oh-oh!”

The bolt flew and struck my forearm, but it didn’t have much effect against my Blood Iron Armor.

It wasn’t possible for his arrows to kill me.

It wasn’t until I tested its strength with Knight B’s body that I became sure, but I know now that I could ignore Knight C and attack the Goblin King directly.

I’m coming for you.
